Chapter 125: The two armies compete for favor with Zhang Xianzhong

Wang Jiazhen was already impatient with Lu Xiangsheng's introduction. Pen fun and pavilion www.biquge.info

He knew that Lu Xiangsheng was a jinshi in the second year of the Apocalypse, and he himself was a jinshi in the thirty-fifth year of Wanli, and he was older than Lu Xiangsheng in terms of qualifications, and Lu Xiangsheng just brought a few more years of soldiers, what Lu Xiangsheng could do, he Wang Jiazhen could also do, he didn't need Lu Xiangsheng to teach how to do it.

Thinking of the blow to the barbarian tribes on the border when he sat as governor of GS, Wang Jiazhen was even more confident.

The chieftain of the Songshan Department, Yinding, and Gangcheng disturbed the West for more than 20 years, Wang Jiazhen was appointed as the governor of Jiazhen GS, and Yinding and Gangcheng led the barbarian cavalry to attack GS three times and were repelled by Wang Jiazhen, and killed hundreds of their soldiers.

This is Wang Jiazhen's record and his pride

He was removed from his post for a mistake and later reinstated, all because of this merit.

In his heart, he confidently believed that the barbarians who had been harassing the western border for more than 20 years could be defeated by him, let alone this rabble. He has an opinion in his heart about Lu Xiangsheng's appointment as the governor of the six provinces, and he has led the armies of the six provinces but has not been able to exterminate the rogues in the Central Plains, thinking that Lu Xiangsheng is just a big name.

Now that Lu Xiangsheng received the order not to leave, but he is still nagging here, he is very uncomfortable.

So he said with a smile on his face: "The governor thanks Lord Lu for his guidance, I will send someone to investigate, Xuanda is the border of the Ming Dynasty, as long as Lord Lu guards Xuanda, it will be the greatest support for me." ”

The implication is that you go and guard your Xuanda, and you don't need to talk nonsense here

Hearing this, Lu Xiangsheng looked at Wang Jiazhen and shook his head secretly.

He arched his hand to him, turned his head to Yang Tinglin and said, "Let's go." After speaking, he walked out of Nanyang Xingyuan.

40 kilometers south of HBDW County, there is a Dawu Mountain with a radius of 217 square kilometers

Mt. Daigo is the boundary mountain between DW and XC counties. It is trending northeast and southwest, east to Wangfu Mountain, Xiadian, DW County, south to Xiaowu Township, XC County, west to Daxingyuan, Lilindian, DW County, and north to Maroaring, New Town, DW County.

Ming Shen Weishan's "Poems on Climbing Dawu Mountain" describes the rich natural landscape of Dawu Mountain, and the poem says: "The snow is thousands of miles away from the purple sky, and the mountain spirit drives me to sway." Moss embroidery stone pile cloud brocade, maple leaves by frost cut silk. Outside the threshold, the autumn clouds are different, and the wind and rain in the hope are over Nanjo. There is no news from Yantang Baizi, and the twilight tide is roaring. ”

The terrain of Dawu Mountain is dangerous, it depends on Dabie Mountain in the north, peeps into Jianghan in the south, is located in the Jianghan Plain, chokes the throat of north-south traffic, enters the three passes, passes through Henan and Anhui, and pre-gallops the Central Plains. Dawu Mountain belongs to the Dabie Mountains, the main peak is Jinding, with an altitude of 813 meters. There was a temple (i.e., Dawu Temple) at the southeast foot of it, commonly known as the old temple.

Since being defeated by Lu Xiangsheng, in order to avoid his edge, Zhang Xianzhong took a team of henchmen to hide in Dawu Mountain, and his headquarters was located in Dawu Temple. Dawu Temple is located on the golden top of the main peak of Dawu Mountain, also known as Longqian Temple, commonly known as "Old Temple".

According to legend, during the Sui and Tang dynasties, Dawu Mountain was called "Shaohua Mountain". According to the "Huangzhou Mansion Chronicles" during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty: "Dawu Mountain, in the northwest of the governance (Huangpi County) 120 miles, there is Dawu Temple, Hongwu Patriarch enlightened here."

Dawu Temple pillow high mountain, beside the stream, Buddha hall, Tibetan scripture pavilion, reading institute, warped corner cornice, simple and solemn. The withered vines and old trees in front of the door, the pine and bamboo are luxuriant, there are 7 ancient trees ginkgo, the large number is circumferred, 30 meters high, the main trunk is Lingyun, the strong branches are horizontal, lush and green, and the shade covers the sky. There is an ancient well in the courtyard, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, and maintains a fixed water level all year round, without drying up or overflowing.

The temple was founded in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties, in its heyday, eight temples such as Huanglong, Bailong, Linquan, Yuntai, Chaoyang, Qinglong, Xinglong, Laoshan and so on, are the main temple of one side.

After several wars, the temple is now gone, only some carved strip stones, foundation and the like remain.

There is a lying stone on the north slope, and the four characters of "three towers Lingyun" are engraved on it. It is rumored that there were three pagodas behind the temple, two of which were destroyed by lightning fire, and "the mourning (relic) pagoda was not demolished until before the founding of the country."

There is a stele next to the tower, still set up upright, the stele body is intact, 2 meters high, 1 meter wide, the previous book: "Mourning my monk name Daoyuan, Huang'an people also, surname Li." The full text is thousands of words, describing the life of the mourner, which has been weathered by stone for a long time, and the text has been lost. Hundreds of steps behind the temple, there are stone vultures, several meters wide, the wall is warped like an axe, chisel "cliff rock" on it, the word is one foot square, the pre-title: "six o'clock chanting Buddha"; The latter paragraph: "Monk Daoyuan", the pen is strong, clear as ever.

Because Zhang Xianzhong's headquarters is located in Dawu Temple, the monks in the temple have been locked up.

There are more than a dozen sturdy guards standing at the entrance of Dawu Temple, and there are many dilapidated tents set up in the woods not far away, and groups of peasant soldiers are sitting, standing, or walking around in the woods, everyone is talking and laughing.

"Xu Junshi, this Dawu Mountain, the name is a bit strange, there is something in it, you tell us Lao Zhang." The one who spoke was a tall man with a yellow beard sitting on a chair, he was Zhang Xianzhong.

Zhang Xianzhong called himself "Eight Kings", also known as 'Yellow Tiger', he looked like he was in his forties, his temperament was fierce, his eyes were bright, and in the Zen room, seven or eight strong men sat around Zhang Xianzhong, these people had his righteous sons Li Dingguo, Liu Wenxiu, Ai Nengqi, Sun Kewang, and military advisers Pan Duao and Xu Yixian.

Zhang Xianzhong's name is Bingzhong, his name is Jingxuan, and his nickname is Huanghu, the leader of the peasant army in the last years of the Ming Dynasty.

He was born in Liuqu Village, Haotan Township, DB County, SX Province (formerly known as Liushujian Fort), studied when he was young, and later joined the army. Because of the violation of the law, the main general Chen Hongfan saw his strange appearance, pleaded with the general soldier Wang Wei for it, beat a hundred military sticks to remove the name, and since then he has been in the countryside.

In the first year of Chongzhen, due to the lack of food, Wang Jiayin and Wang Ziyong of Fugu rioted, and they occupied Huanglong Mountain.

Then Yichuan Wang Zuohang, Ansai Gao Yingxiang, Luochuan Zhang Cunmeng, Yanchuan Wang Monk, Hannan Wang Daliang and others responded, and the fire of struggle burned all over the territory of SX.

In the third year of Chongzhen (1630), Zhang Xianzhong gathered eighteen farmers in his hometown and organized a team to respond to Wang Jiayin.

Because he had read a little as a child, and had received military training, he was resourceful, courageous, and soon showed his command skills, and his men became the strongest of the thirty-six battalions of the time with the king himself as the leader.

With the team of displaced people, Zhang Xianzhong moved to SXSXHNAHHBSC and other places, and made many achievements. His contingent has also grown from a few thousand to tens of thousands, becoming the most powerful unit and playing a pivotal role in the battle against the officers and soldiers.

In 1640, Zhang Xianzhong entered SC and became the king; In 1644, Zhang Xianzhong proclaimed himself emperor in Chengdu, founded the country with the name "Daxi", changed the yuan to "Dashun", and took Chengdu as Xijing.

In order to go north to SX to fight against the Qing army, Zhang Xianzhong decided to abandon Chengdu and "kill his wife and concubine, and a son who is still young, also kills him". In 1647, Zhang Xianzhong died of an arrow in Phoenix Mountain in Xichong at the age of 40.

Xu Yixian is Zhang Xianzhong's left army division and is very respected by Zhang Xianzhong. His political ambitions are very big, and he wants to assist Zhang Xianzhong to win the world, and he often compares himself with Zhuge Liang.

Listening to Zhang Xianzhong's allusion to Dawu Mountain, Xu Yixian said in a mocking manner: "According to the record of Huangzhou Mansion, during the Hongwu period, there was a monk named "Mourning Wu", who traveled here, saw the peaks standing, the smoke was ethereal, the aura of heaven and earth gathered here, and he asked the mountain to ask for a robe. Zhang Tiancheng thought that a robe could cover a lot of land, so he promised it. Unexpectedly, the robe of the monk mourning me was thrown off, and it actually covered the golden dome and several surrounding mountains. Zhang Tiancheng regretted it, but knowing that he was a high-ranking monk, he had no choice but to give up. After Fuwu obtained this treasure land, he first built a well in the mountain valley east of the golden dome, and at the same time recruited disciples, invited craftsmen, and built a temple. The timber used to build the temple was taken from the wells that were repaired, and when the temple was about to be built, the carpenter said, "There is enough cedar." After the temple was built, believers in a radius of hundreds of miles came one after another, and people changed the name of "Shaohua Mountain" to "Dawu Mountain". This is where the name of Mt. Daigo comes from. After speaking, he proudly glanced at Pan Duao, the right army division.

Pan Duao is a talent in Panjiaji, Yingcheng, HB Province, and the leader of a landlord's armed force.

One year, Zhang Xianzhong led the peasant army to attack and plunder Yingcheng, and Pan Duao committed himself to take refuge and slaughtered the city. Under Zhang Xianzhong's account, in order to compete for favor, Pan Duao and Xu Yixian often intrigue in secret.

"It turns out that this is how the name of Dawu Mountain came from." Zhang Xianzhong stroked his yellow beard and said.

Looking at Xu Yi's appearance, Pan Duao said lightly: "Dashuai, this is to deceive ordinary people, only fools believe it, in fact, the name of Dawu Mountain has another origin, at least there are two other theories." ”

"The name of a mountain actually has three origins, Pan Junshi said to hear it." Zhang Xianzhong said with interest.

Seeing Zhang Xianzhong's happy appearance, Pan Duao glanced at Xu Yixian, squeezed his eyes proudly, and then said: "According to historical materials and Buddhist scriptures "Zen Gate Daily Recitation", in the Ming Dynasty in 1393, Li Daoyuan, who was born in Jinshi and served as a political envoy, a political envoy, a political envoy, and a political envoy, was sentenced to 15,000 people in his party because of the "Blue Jade" case. The monk mourned his meditation and enlightenment in the Qingxin Cliff of Shaohua Mountain, and then renamed Shaohua Mountain as Dawu Mountain, and Dawu Mountain became a Buddhist holy place for a while. Since then, the name of Mt. Daigo has been inherited to this day. ”

"That's one statement, but what about another?" Sun Kewang asked with great interest.

Sun Kewang is the first of Zhang Xianzhong's four righteous sons. Born in an unknown year, died in 1660, SX Mizhi. In 1630, he followed Zhang Xianzhong to raise troops, was brave, could read and hyphenate, won Zhang Xianzhong's appreciation, and was accepted as a righteous son. Among Zhang Xianzhong's four righteous sons, the most capable is Sun Kewang, who is both civil and military. Nicknamed "A Wall".

After Zhang Xianzhong died in Fengming Mountain, Sun Kewang and Li Dingguo followed Zhang Xianzhong's will to resist the Qing Dynasty and led the army south to join the camp of Emperor Yongli of the Southern Ming Dynasty.

However, Sun Kewang was named the queen of Qin by Emperor Yongli, and gradually put up the emperor's shelf. With the change of power, the contradiction between Sun and Li also intensified, and finally led to infighting. In 1658, the defeated Sun Kewang surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, and soon he was treated as a "rabbit and a dog", not only was the title withdrawn, but even the cause of his death was quite suspicious.
