The opposition between light and dark at the beginning is the past. The struggle between light and dark in the middle is now. The light and dark in the back are the future. The leaders of the sect propagated that if people believed in the White Lotus Sect, they could be blessed by Maitreya Buddha and enter Cloud City in the year of the catastrophe to avoid catastrophe.
