Chapter 17: The Wilderness
The eighth article of "Notes on the Great Wilderness" has not been able to choose a suitable theme for a long time. Pen ~ fun ~ pavilion www.biquge.info
Jin Tong was not in a hurry, and wrote the three big characters of "Wilderness Collection" on the title page of another notebook.
He's going to make a big move!
The quotation and application of "Notes on the Great Wilderness" are limited by each theme, and they cannot be carried freely, so Jin Tong decided to open another position.
This will be a collection of poems that are fully plagiarized. He had already decided on the first goal of transcription, Tagore's Birds!
In the history that Jin Tong is familiar with, it will be a few years before Tagore will begin to create this masterpiece.
But he didn't want to compete with the original author for time, as a copyist from another world, although the festival has already landed, the bottom line is still there.
Rabindranath Tagore was chosen because it was impossible for the Indian writer to write a collection of poems.
The reason, of course, is Daqi!
The "Boer War" broke out, Britain was unable to take care of Southeast Asia, and Daqi took the opportunity to launch the Nanyang War. But Nanyang is only one of the main battlefields, the other is India! The Great Qi Army swept away all the ghosts, snakes and gods in India, and the British army cried and cried for their mothers.
In the post-war negotiations, the Great Qi withdrew its troops from India, and a "federal republic" supported by the Great Qi emerged in northern India.
The anti-British and anti-colonial fighter, Rabindranath Tagore, who emerged from the post-war reconstruction, became Minister of Industry in the Provisional Federal Government, and announced his candidacy for Prime Minister in the first official election in 1905!
Tagore's advocacy of universal education and the development of industry was welcomed by Daqi, whose Ministry of Foreign Affairs had explicitly expressed "support for North India's accession to the Asian Common Market".
However, the extremist leader of the Congress Party, who presided over the provisional government, advocated the development of armaments, the early southward movement, and the unification of all India by force. This, of course, is not in the interests of China and the UK.
As a result, Tagore became the favourite, and almost everyone was sure that he would become prime minister. No one expected that the day before the voting results were announced, Tagore was assassinated by gunmen during a public speech and his soul returned to Brahma.
Tyrak lost his rival and became prime minister, but rumors that he was the mastermind did not cool down, and the assassination investigation led directly to a military rebellion. It was only by relying on the Great Coalition to eliminate the rebels and chop off a few paws that were too long for the British and Indian colonial authorities, that Tilak sat firmly on the throne of prime minister, and after that, he kept silent about the liberation of all India.
The turmoil in India is the most significant international event outside of the Russian Civil War, and it is familiar to the new youth who are concerned about current affairs.
As a result, Tagore's literary legacy was inherited by Jin Tong.
Because of the soul crossing, all the experiences and details of the past life, every book read, and every word that I inadvertently glanced at have become solid memories.
Tagore's books, Jin Tong has read four books: "The Birds", "The Gardener", "The Crescent", and "Gitanjali".
In this world, Tagore did not publish "The New Moon" and "The Gardener" because of his busy government affairs, but most of the poems in them were written in his early years, and they were not translated into English.
The other two, "Gitanjali", are too religious, and the original text is in Bengali, the time of creation is unknown, and the only thing available is "Flying Birds".
The original text is 325 songs, and it cannot be copied completely.
The "Flying Bird Collection" that Jin Tong reads is a badly translated Chinese version, dull, bent, and unpoetic. At that time, looking at the ten lines at a glance, he also sighed, "I'm embarrassed to use the vernacular!" ”
Now the first poem, of course, there are many good sentences, containing flashes of thought, such as "If you cry because you lose the sun, you will also lose the stars"; Some of the words are beautiful, such as "Life is as gorgeous as summer flowers, and death is as quiet and beautiful as autumn leaves".
But there are also things that are worse than machine translation, such as "A small group of drifters in the world, please leave your footprints in my words", what the hell is it about!
(Author's note: "A team of little drifters" means "a troupe of children wandering in the four seas")
It's nothing if it doesn't rhyme; Poetry can be accepted without existing, and it is all aphoristic aphorisms; The bigger trouble is that you lose the meaning of the original text, and you don't know what the author wants to say.
As a result, Jin Tong kept deleting the screening and decided to keep only one hundred and fifty songs.
He sincerely apologized to Tagore, "O master's spirit in heaven, please don't blame me, blame the ancient Babylonians who built the Tower of Babel, blame God for creating a barrier between human languages!" ”
The poems were very short, and Jin Tong thought about them again and again, and it took several days to select them and transcribe them one by one into his notebook.
When he finished, the notebook instantly became the most popular reading material in the entire camp, and everyone rushed to borrow, transcribe, and recite the sentences that had a long meaning.
Lu Tianxi even bowed exaggeratedly to Jin Tongsan at the reading party, "Master! I'm convinced! I'm Lu Tianxi! ”
Wu Rui lamented that the beautiful words could not be read by more people. He said that next winter, the publication of "Notes on the Great Wilderness" and "Wilderness Collection" will be regarded as the second major event after "the coal mine incident."
But the collection of one hundred and fifty sentences into a book is inevitably thin, and Jin Tong has to continue to copy.
So the 150 songs of "Flying Birds" became "Wilderness Collection - Feihong Chapter", which means "Feihong stepping on the slush".
There are many more chapters to come.
Yu Guangzhong, Shu Ting, Gu Cheng, Bei Dao, Xu Zhimo, Lin Huiyin, Hu Shi......
There are too many Chinese poems to choose from, and Jin Tong is picky. For example, in the early poems of the vernacular literary movement, he believed that although ideas were valuable, they were not yet mature and could never be selected.
The works of those left-wing poets are mostly related to the history of the country's crisis, and it is not appropriate to copy them.
On the contrary, Lin Huiyin has that kind of petty bourgeois mood, not only the theme is versatile and harmless, but the text is also exquisite, and it is very safe to copy.
Although Daqi does not engage in literary prisons, as an exile, Jin Tong's consciousness is very high. He also hoped that the emperor would be merciful, and what kind of "desperate backwater" would be the real death!
It's not okay to blindly sing and dance, Jin Tong wants to create his image of "deep thought", and the little love of "you are the April day in the world" cannot satisfy his ambitions.
He divided the poems he intended to plagiarize into two categories.
The first is "Wilderness Collection - New Moon Chapter", which includes the works of Hu Shi, Xu Zhimo, Liang Shiqiu and others in the twenties and thirties of the 20th century.
At present, the popular poetry in the Daqi literary circle is the "purist school", imitating the "sonnet", which pays attention to the mellow essence, careful technique, and rigorous rhythm, but the artistic expression and lyrical methods of the poems are still diverse.
The most important thing is that the "purists" changed the "direct expression of their hearts" in the early days of the vernacular literary movement, turned their subjective feelings into concrete images, and opposed the problem of "ah-" at every turn.
The so-called purist school is a manifestation of the gradual maturity of vernacular literature, which is exactly the same as the "Crescent School" known by Jin Tong in his previous life, and can be seamlessly connected.
The name of the "Crescent Chapter" does not mean that only the works of the Crescent School are selected, and he will not let go of the masterpieces of other poets of his time, the only thing that needs to be paid attention to is the choice of theme.
For example, Wen Yiduo's "Dead Water", although the rhythm is very beautiful, but pointing at the nose of the ruler and scolding the street, Jin Tong does not take it.
In contrast, Xu Zhimo is much smarter. He likes to pursue light and freedom rather than expose ugliness.
"I straddled a blind horse with crutches and rushed into this dark night" is much more subtle than "this is not where the beauty is, it is better to let the ugliness reclaim it".
But even Xu Zhimo's poems can't be copied, such as "Farewell to Kangqiao", Jin Tong has never been to the UK, and must revise it according to his own experience, but it is not as good as the original text, so he simply gave up.
In addition to the "New Moon Chapter" is the "Fog Hidden Chapter", which transcribes the "hazy poems" that emerged in the seventies of the 20th century. Jin Tong read a lot of these poems when he was in middle school, and there are hundreds of them in his memory bank.
He mainly chooses the works of Gu Cheng, Beidao, Haizi, Shu Ting and others, so you don't have to worry about copying them. The ambiguous artistic conception and ambiguous theme of the "Hazy School" could not be more perfect from the point of view of avoiding politics.
After selecting the scope and confirming the overall cataloging structure, Jin Tong did not go on a big job.
He pondered again and again, and recorded the first poem of "New Moon Chapter", Ai Qing's "I Love This Land", "If I were a bird, I should also sing with a hoarse throat......"
For some reason, Jin Tong wanted to dedicate this poem to the world.
When he wrote, "Why do I have tears in my eyes? Because I love this land so much", my eyes were a little moist.
This poem, which was made when the Japanese invaders trampled on China with iron hooves in another world, is a cry when the mountains and rivers are broken and the nation is in danger, and it is full of the most sincere emotions.
And in the Great Qi Empire, poets did not need to sing hoarsely for disaster-stricken countries like cuckoos crying blood.
Withdrawn from his emotions, Jin Tong examined it repeatedly, and always felt that it was inappropriate. Will it be considered "resentful of the imperial court"?
After hesitating for a long time, he sighed and added a line of small words under the title: "Reading history has feelings, General Yongliu." ”
General Liu, Liu Nanyan is also, in the early years to sell horses as a business, and then with Taizu to raise troops, command the cavalry, repeatedly made military exploits, has the reputation of "flying eagle", died of illness during the expedition to Tibet, and posthumously awarded the title of Duke Xu.
Dedicating "I Love This Land" to such a general who fought for the nation-state all his life is not an insult to the author's hard work.
Such an elegant toution, contemporary Xu Guogong should be very happy to see it.
Turn the page and record the second song.
Xu Zhimo's "Shayanara", "the most is the gentleness of the bowed head, like a water lotus flower that is not able to overcome the shyness of the cool breeze......"
This one is more brisk, Jin Tong remembered the Japanese naturalized family who had lived in his own hostel for half a year. That big sister of the Japanese clan should be married.
Then turn the page, the third one.
Dai Wangshu's "Rain Alley", "holding an oil-paper umbrella, wandering alone in the long, long, and lonely Rain Alley......"
This is a tribute to the revolutionaries, who, at the low ebb of the revolution, hesitated alone in the narrow and lonely reality, hoping for lilac-like dreams.
Jin Tong planned a total of 25 poems in the "New Moon Chapter", and the rest will be recorded in two or three days, so as not to surprise Lu Tianxi again.
He counted out 22 pages and flipped through them, and wrote down the three words "Fog Hidden Chapter".
The first part of "The Fog Hidden Chapter" is "The night gave me black eyes". If there is any poem that can represent the Obscure School, it must be this "Generation".
The second song is Haizi's "Facing the Sea, Spring Blossoms".
"From tomorrow onwards, be a happy person. Feed the horses, chop wood, and travel the world. From tomorrow, care about food and vegetables. I have a house facing the sea and spring flowers are blooming......"
This masterpiece of romanticism probably shouldn't be classified as hazy, but who taught Jin Tong to like it.
Record the third song, Kitajima's "Answer", "Meanness is the pass of the despicable, and nobility is the epitaph of the noble......"
This is a masterpiece of the era, that kind of rebellion, that kind of doubt, about yourself and everything around you, and the sentence "Tell you, world, I don't believe in it!" "It's a brain burst! The emotional outburst is unparalleled!
After recording three songs, I called it a day. "The Fog Hidden Chapter" is also 25 songs, and the rest will be taken slowly.
In this way, the entire "Wilderness Collection" contains three parts: "Feihong Chapter", "New Moon Chapter", and "Fog Hidden Chapter", with a total of 200 poems, as a poetry collection, it is full of weight!
