Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Buddha has mercy on the world
Liu Sheng pondered for a moment and slowly walked towards the wall. Settle your mind and restore your mentality. Look closely, lines of small print.
On the wall reads: Buddha Jue Temple bulletin board. During the reign of Tang Tianbao, the Anshi Rebellion broke out. Luoyang was burned by the rebels, almost a ghost, and the people were in danger. There are great monks and two disciples who travel here to save the people. The people were grateful for their kindness, and many escaped into the empty door. The monks have 3,000 disciples, and they deeply feel that most of the people follow the Buddha, not the great hardship of the Buddha. So he found this place, saw that this place was hidden, and built a temple here. When the great monk built the temple, he left a saying: If the temple is poor, the people will be rich. If the people are rich, then I am rich. We monks have our own hands, so why do we need to be external. So he led his disciples to open up fertile land, and asked the court officials to measure the acres of land and pay taxes as usual. The sun rises and the sun sets. The property obtained is managed by the temple in a unified manner, and then the temple door is closed to eat fasting and chanting Buddha, if there is leisure to practice martial arts to strengthen the body, learn pharmacology to cure diseases and save people. If there is a disaster in the sky, the temple door will be opened, and the disciples will be sent to save the people from fire and water.
Fojue Temple Event: The Huangchao Uprising broke out, and the people were mostly swordsmen. After hearing the news, the temple presided over the dispatch of disciples down the mountain. At this time, there were 10,000 gold in the temple and 3,800 disciples.
Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Later Liang Period: The north is thousands of miles away, and there is no harvest. People are displaced and hungry. When the temple heard the news, he presided over the dispatch of his disciples down the mountain. At this time, there were 8,000 gold in the temple and 2,800 disciples.
After the destruction of the Later Liang Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty was established: the war was endless, and there were many pass cities in the north that were broken by foreign races, and most of them were slaughtered. My Buddha is merciful, and the temple heard the news and sent his disciples down the mountain. At this time, there were 30,000 gold in the temple and 4,200 disciples.
In the last years of the Later Tang Dynasty: There was a sudden flood in the southern Chu State, and the people were unclothed and flowed everywhere. At this time, the natural disaster has not passed, and the sword soldiers are raised again. The temple heard the newspaper and presided over the oath in front of the Buddha. In order to calm the flood and save the victims from the suffering of swords. Send his disciples down the mountain and go to the south. At this time, there were 50,000 gold in the temple and 4,800 disciples .......
Liu Sheng looked at these records, and they were all densely packed. I saw the last one, which was written in general characters: The Buddha saves the world, not seeking fame and fortune, but compassion. Disciples who go down the mountain are not allowed to turn into fate, and they are not allowed to show the name of the temple. Violators will be expelled from the temple.
After Jia Fu finished reading it, he patted Liu Sheng's shoulder and sighed: "Such deeds are fascinating."
"When I first saw this wall, I was fascinated. But when I look at it at this time, I only feel a heartfelt admiration." Chai Yu looked at the wall, recalling the past. The first time I saw these words, I was also convinced.
Liu Sheng had all the flavors in his heart, and he didn't speak but turned away. The two of them also hurriedly turned around and looked at the mountain road they had just walked on, as well as the victims everywhere. At this time, the victims of the disaster all walked up one by one, and suddenly the crowd of people going up the mountain stopped, and the crowd gave way. On the road, a woman was dressed in white, her skin was like water, and her appearance was as beautiful as a flower. It was like Guanyin descending into the world, coming slowly. Behind him was a green-clothed maid holding a delicate locket.
When the victims saw the woman in white, their hearts were indescribably grateful, and they shouted without losing their words: "Bodhisattva".
The voice of the Bodhisattva reverberates through the mouths of the victims of the disaster, among the mountains. A group of monks walked out of the temple, the same age as the meditation masters. When the eldest monk saw the woman in white, a happy smile appeared on his face: "The female benefactor has not seen her for a long time, why hasn't she come to this temple for a long time, I don't know if she can be fine recently."
"I dare not be ashamed, all the dust is complicated, and the victims are suffering. How could Ke Xin let the mundane spare the presiding master's cultivation." Wang Kexin hurriedly replied to the monk, and without waiting for them to reply, he said to the maid: "Pothos, hand the box to the host."
After hearing this, the maid hurriedly handed the box in her hand to the host, and the group of monks looked at each other with puzzled expressions. Wang Kexin walked over and opened the box, which contained a hundred gold.
"This ......" the host showed a puzzled look, and the monks next to him were all puzzled.
Wang Kexin bowed to these monks and said sincerely: "I know that your temple has ancestral teachings, and from the establishment of the temple to the present for hundreds of years, I have never accepted other people's property. But now the disaster is serious, and the strength of the little woman alone is really thin. Ke Xin cheekily begged all the masters, have mercy on me, take care of my selfishness, accept this money, and help the victims."
The monks looked at each other and discussed in a whisper. Liang Jiu presided over and said: "If someone else does this, the poor monk and others will feel insulted. It can be seen that the female benefactor has done good deeds along the way, and it is indeed a bodhisattva's heart."
When the host said this, he discussed with the surrounding monks again. At the end of the discussion, the monk continued, "If we have compassion, we will bring the victims to shame."
As soon as the words fell, an old monk stretched out his hand, and the green pothos hurriedly closed the box and handed it to the monk.
"Thank you so much, master......" Wang Kexin was overjoyed and hurriedly thanked him.
After some politeness, Wang Kexin was overjoyed to see Chai Yu and the others. Hurriedly walked over, just as he was about to salute. Chai Yu saluted first: "Cousin, why don't you talk to me today."
"Things are complicated, so I didn't bother you much, and now my aunt is fine." Wang Kexin understood what he meant, and hurriedly followed his words. Thinking that it has been a long time since I came to Luoyang, I haven't entered the palace to see my aunt, and I really feel a little unhappy.
When Chai Yu was about to reply, Wang Kexin found that Jia Fu was also here, and hurriedly shouted with joy: "Cousin."
Jia Fu looked at Wang Kexin but didn't speak, obviously he had already recognized it, but he still sulked in his heart.
Kexin went home and told her father what happened that day, and then she found out what happened. Kexin made a mistake that day, and was willing to be punished, and hoped that his cousin would not be angry." Wang Kexin hurriedly explained, remembering that outside Jiangling City that day, what he did at that time was a little wrong. So he hurriedly apologized, revealing a pitiful look. Between the words, there is still a bit of coquettishness.
Liu Sheng patted Jia Fu on the shoulder, and Jia Fu knew what he was going to say. sighed in his heart, what Brother Sheng said before also made sense. The affairs of the fathers belong to the fathers, and the affairs of our generation belong to our generation. There is no need to implicate the grievances of our fathers in our generation. Speaking of which, after all, they are still blood relatives. Looking at Wang Kekexin's pitiful appearance, he sighed: "That's it, we are us, there is nothing to be angry about."
Chai Yu only felt dumbfounded, as if the sky had fallen. From childhood to adulthood, Wang Kexin has always been Bing Qingyu's cousin like the reincarnation of Guanyin, but he didn't expect to have such a little daughter. Just as he was about to continue to ask, the movement of the temple attracted the attention of several people here.
The monks had already packed their bags and stood in front of the Buddha hall in rows. Young and old lined up and packed their bags. More than 1,000 monks, all solemn and solemn.
The presiding officer and the group of elderly monks also carried their bags and stood on the steps in front of the Buddhist hall. Looking at these more than 1,000 disciples, his eyes showed compassion.
Just as the host was about to speak, a young man ran out of the victims. Before running to the Buddha hall, he hurriedly knelt down and cried: "Master, I am the son of a wealthy family in the south of the Yangtze River, and the Yangtze River burst its banks and flooded. Everything was like a bubble, and it was nothing. Looking back again, I thought I was afraid to be alone, separated by parents, wife and children. I fled all the way to the lonely and suffered, and I was saved by the disciples of the Buddha Jue Temple. In this life, I have no attachment and beg the master to have mercy. The disciple is willing to become a monk, please take it in your monastery."
After the man finished speaking, he began to cry with a whimper. When the victims heard his cry, they looked sad one by one.
The host looked at the man and sighed: "Why should the donor be obsessed, why do you want to be obsessed, why do you force it." As far as the poor monk knows, in this world, you still have a grandfather reincarnated, why do you have to be obsessed with being a monk. You must know that if you have a Buddha in your heart, what difference does it make if you are a monk or not."
After the host finished speaking, the elderly monks in front of the Buddha hall all announced the Buddha's name: "Amitabha".
The man was overwhelmed with grief, knowing that it would be useless to go on like this, and hurriedly returned to the victims with tears in his eyes. After the host saw the man leave, he sighed in his heart. Cleaning up his mood from the beginning, he said to the disciples in front of him: "The disaster situation in the south is urgent, the people are displaced, and there is no food. From now on, all the disciples will go down the mountain to the south to help the victims rebuild their homes."
"Obey the orders of the presiding officer". The monks agreed in unison, and then turned around and walked out.
At this time, the loud voice of the presiding officer sounded in the ears of the monks: "We monks, with compassion. Be friends with all beings, and heaven and earth are beds. If the Buddha is in the heart, there is no home."
The host watched the last monk finish and walked towards Chai Yu with a group of older monks. He saluted Chai Yu and said, "I'm about to go down the mountain, and the lock on the gate of the Buddha Hall will be handed over to His Royal Highness the Prince." After His Royal Highness left, he also hoped to lock the Buddha Hall, and I am grateful."
The meditation monk walked out of the Buddha hall, took out a rusty lock, and handed it to Chai Yu. After Chai Yu took the lock, he saluted with Wang Kexin, Jia Fu, and Liu Sheng. After a salute, Chai Yu said, and the elderly monks sighed: "Today's view of the lonely to your temple, sincere admiration." The master and others are old, why do they still want to go south".
"Senior Brother Jingxin, there is a very good sentence, I will reply to His Highness with this today. The bitter sea is boundless, thousands of red dust. Do you not practice mercy because of your labors?" As soon as the host's voice fell, the elderly monks bowed solemnly to several people. Turn around and laugh and stride forward.
Looking at the free and easy backs of these monks, Liu Sheng thought of Master Jingxin, who was said to be the youngest junior disciple among them, but the youngest was already eighty-eight years old, and with their advanced age, he could still do so. I have to be admired, and I can't help but sigh when I think of this: "Once this trip goes, I'm afraid that most of these monks will be buried in other places."
