Western books were mainly brought and translated by missionaries: the German astronomer Kepler's "New Astronomy", the Italian S. With the determination of teachers and books, Xiamen Gewu University has opened seven classes: wood, industry, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, and agriculture.

Later, with the increase of teachers, especially in 1649, the missionary Wei Kuangguo returned to Rome to inform the Catholic Pope of the situation in Xiamen, and brought a large number of erudite missionaries to China, and successively added chemistry, physics, biology, literature, art, architecture and other disciplines.

With the influx of a large number of foreign books into China, Xiamen Gewu University has also added a translation hall and a printing workshop.

At first, only Latin and Spanish books were translated, but later English, Arabic, and Japanese books were added.

The Translation Library has also expanded from simply translating books on Western science and technology to books on natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

Except for mathematics, astronomy, and medicine, most of the other courses are taught by Han Chinese.

Mathematics, astronomy, and medicine were shared by missionaries and Han teachers, and in medicine, these missionaries often quarreled with Han teachers over a certain theory, and sometimes even quarreled so much that they became angry and directly punched and kicked.

At this time, the missionaries who dared to cross the ocean to come to China were not good at it, and they all had a lot of experience in fighting and brawling to protect themselves.

Han teachers rely on the large number of people, coupled with the geographical advantage, often call friends to beat up.

One side is full of experience, the other side is overwhelming, and the missionaries and Han teachers are generally fighting.

Zheng Chenggong doesn't know much about medicine, so it's best to stay silent and not partial.
