These two lessons are profound, and I seem to know that what the world's scholars have learned is useless for the country, and their failure comes from education! The Song Dynasty and the former Ming Dynasty had more than one million scholars, and the number of Mongolians and Jurchens was only like this.

Mr. Gu Yanwu once said: The rise and fall of the world is the responsibility of the husband. I said: The rise and fall of the world is the responsibility of the scholars! Seven or eight times out of ten the benefits of the world belong to the scholars, and if the scholars do not defend them, who will defend them? Still counting on a farmer who toils all day long and doesn't have enough to eat? If the scholar can learn for the prosperity of the world, the world will prosper; If what the scholar learns is not beneficial to the world, the world will die! The Song Dynasty and the former Ming Dynasty died in the world, all of which were caused by the uselessness of what scholars and doctors had learned! Now that I have risen in the early Ming Dynasty, we should get rid of the disadvantages of the previous dynasty and not repeat the mistakes of the past! In the future, the curriculum of public schools and private schools in the world should be based on the rise and fall of the world as the first priority, and the imperial court should formulate teaching materials and courses according to the needs of the imperial court. ”

If the millions of scholars in the Southern Song Dynasty and the former Ming Dynasty had learned less of the principles of sages, and more of the ability to shoot arrows with a big sword, instead of being scribes, they would have become warriors, and the imperial examinations would also test the skills of archery, the art of war, and the ability to cut people, then the Mongols and Jurchens would have been killed!
