Chapter 20: Flying into the sky does not return to seven
Back in Chang'an, Liu Mi was pleasantly surprised to find that he was no longer lonely, because Li Chun had a few more of his own kind by his side. Among these people are the disciples and grandchildren of Taishang Laojun, and there are good men and women of Shakyamuni. Looking at these people entering and leaving the palace proudly, a wry smile flashed at the corner of Liu Yu's mouth: It's easy to get in, but if you want to get out, it's difficult! However, it's okay, if something happens, at least you can pull a few cushions, and Huangquan Road will not be too lonely!
On the issue of religious belief, Li Chun is undoubtedly an open person, whether it is a monk or a Taoist priest, in Li Chun's eyes, there is no difference at all. I will give you wealth and fame, you give me immortality, fair trade, no bullying, win-win! As long as you can become an immortal and a Buddha, I don't care if you are a monk or a Taoist! Therefore, when the Taoist priest Liu Mi of Tiantai Mountain was searching for immortal medicine for him, Li Chun, who was far away in Chang'an, could not bear the loneliness, and turned to have a strong interest in Buddhism. What's even worse is that Li Chun also launched another farce with great interest, a huge farce: welcoming the Buddha's bones.
The so-called Buddha bones, as the name suggests, are naturally the bones of the Buddha. Buddha, a monk who has attained great enlightenment. No matter how enlightened you are, a monk is still a monk after all. Monks are also human beings, no matter how otherworldly, no matter how unearthly fireworks are eaten, monks are still human beings after all. If you are a human being, you will have to die, sooner or later, whether you are a monk or a Taoist! No, no, monks don't die, because, in Taoism, that's called the ascension of the day, that's called autopsy, that's called feathering into immortals; In Buddhism, that's called death, that's nirvana, that's preaching, in short, it's not death. All in all, in short, whether it is death, feathering, or nirvana, it will leave a stinky skin. Of course, this stinky skin will gradually become stinky, gradually decay, gradually decomposed by microorganisms, and finally only a pile of white bones remains. The white bones of ordinary people are just white bones, at most, they will only arouse people's respect and longing for the deceased, and will not have too high value. Monks are not ordinary people, especially monks who have achieved enlightenment, so the white bones they left behind are no longer white bones, but relics, which are very expensive. However, the word "gold" is not appropriate here, because relics, in the minds of Buddhists, are sacred relics. Its weight is not much worse than the Koran of Islam and the Bible of Christianity.
The Buddha bones that Li Chunying enshrined came from Famen Temple. According to legend, the Buddha Shakyamuni attained Nirvana under the Bodhi tree, leaving behind his Buddha bone relics, which are treasured in several different places. A century and a half later, Emperor Ashoka of the Mauryan Empire took out the four-liter relics from King Agashi's collection, plus the relics of the Buddha's bones buried elsewhere, to create 84,000 treasure crates and 84,000 treasure covers, wrapped in 84,000 pieces of colorful silk. Then, the miraculous Emperor Ashoka "enslaved the ghosts and gods to build 84,000 pagodas in one day." Of the 84,000 pagodas, five are in China, and one of the five pagodas in China is in Qishan Mountain, Qin State. Famen Temple. Therefore, what Li Chun wants to worship is not the ordinary Buddha bone relics, but the Buddha bone relics of the Buddha Shakyamuni, and the significance is not trivial.
In fact, Li Chun is not the first person to eat crabs, long before the establishment of the Tang Empire, there have been two incidents of welcoming Buddha bones, namely the second year of Yuan Wei and the second year of Renshou. In the fifth year of Zhenguan of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Taizong wrote in the history of Qizhou Thorn, saying that the underground palace "opens in thirty years, and the valley is twisted and the soldiers are resting". According to this gentleman's statement, as long as you welcome the Buddha bone relics once in 30 years, you will have a bumper harvest every year, and the horses will be released in Nanshan every year, which is very magical. For these absurd statements, the wise and martial Emperor Taizong would rather believe it, and on February 15, the fifth year of Zhenguan, the Buddha bones were enshrined in the dormitory, and since then, every 30 years, the Tang Empire will welcome the Buddha bones once, never stopped, and there has been no major controversy. In the fifth year of Taizong Zhenguan, the fifth year of Gaozong Xianqing, the fourth year of Wu Zetian Chang'an, the first year of Suzong Shangyuan, and the sixth year of Dezong Zhenyuan, welcoming Buddha bones has become a practice in the Tang Empire. In this way, it has been continued, and it has continued until the fourteenth year of Yuanhe, which is the eighth time to welcome the Buddha's bone relics, and it stands to reason that nothing major should happen.
However, if Heaven wants to destroy people, it must first make them mad. In the matter of welcoming the Buddha's bones, Li Chun has gone crazy. In order to show his greatest sincerity and enthusiasm, the crazy Li Chun made a crazy decision: surrounded by the Shence army and a large group of palace maids and eunuchs, Li Chun personally came to the Famen Temple and personally welcomed the Buddha bone relics on the road.
Li Chun's madness ignited the entire imperial capital, and when the Buddha bone relics entered the city through the Guangshun Gate, the entire Chang'an and Li Chun fell into extreme madness. The ten-mile long street is full of surging crowds. In order to win a place in this gluttonous feast of the demons, and even get ahead, and want to compete with the demons, all kinds of people have come up with their own housekeeping skills. There are treasures to offer treasures, gold, silver, jewelry, and rare treasures are all brought out to offer treasures; With a strong force, hundreds of people pulled the incense cart where the Buddha's bones were placed and walked slowly through the long street. People who have no money and no treasure, and even have no opportunity to serve are not to be outdone, in order to be able to admire and worship the Buddha's bones, they have resorted to cruel tricks, self-harm: burning the top, burning the back, amputating the fingers, cutting off the arm, all kinds of sensational means, all without blinking on themselves, just to worship the ignorant and unconscious dead bones.
"The demonic spirit is faint Tang Sheji", at the feet of the solemn Buddha, Li Chun, the son of the Tang Dynasty, personally directed a century-old farce of demons dancing and dancing.
