The ICT for the Far East, on charges and trials of the Bolsheviks for crimes against humanity, also went on for a long time. Because in Russia, the Bolsheviks were extremely hostile to religious circles. At that time, Britain, France, Germany, and the United States were all great Christian powers, and almost all of their officials were Christians, and they demanded a trial for the crimes of the religious Bolsheviks against Christians.
On that day, the sky was overcast and a thunderstorm was coming. Patriarch Tikhon, the Patriarch of the Orthodox religious leaders and priests of Moscow and all of Russia, stood before the International Military Tribunal for the Far East. After Wu Tingfang solemnly rang the gavel, he asked the judge: "Does the Orthodox Church oppose the Bolshevik regime?" ”
The gray-haired Tikhon coughed twice, and took out a copy of the People's Commissars formed by the Russian Orthodox Church in a letter to the Bolsheviks, stating the position of the Orthodox Church: "You have seized state power, and the blood of the Orthodox brothers whom you have ordered to kill is crying out to heaven for help, prompting us to speak to you that our motherland has been invaded, humiliated, and divided, and that you are smuggling to Germany as tribute to the wealth that does not belong to you." You do not defend against foreign enemies and defend the motherland, but you keep expanding your army. Who are you going to use it against? You have divided the whole nation into the camp of friend and foe, and you have plunged the country into a cannibalistic war that has never been seen before. You have openly replaced the love of Christ with hatred and have artificially kindled the fire of class hatred and burned the peace! The humiliating peace you have created with your foreign enemies is not the demand of the Russian people, but the need of your plot to destroy peace at home. Innocent bishops, priests, friars and nuns are tortured in your prisons. But you are proud of the fact that you have stained the hands of the Russian nation with the blood of your brothers and sisters. At your instigation, people's land, houses, factories, and livestock were seized or dispossessed, and money, furniture, and clothing were plundered. You have made a windfall with it. Tempting the ignorant blinds their conscience and annihilates their guilt. Where is the freedom of speech and the press, and where is the freedom of religion or belief? It is especially tragic that you have undermined the freedom of belief. You have extended the clutches of sin to the ecclesiastical property accumulated over hundreds of years by generations of believers, and have not hesitated to destroy the will of the dead. You are guilty of trumped-up charges. Monasteries and churches were closed. You have blocked the road to the Moscow Kremlin, which is a sacred property of all believers. Yes, we are suffering under your reign of terror, from which no one can escape. God is diluted in their hearts, and what is inscribed is the image of your beasts. Now, we want to exhort you who abuse your power. Those who persecute their relatives and friends and kill innocents. Do not engage in sabotage, but establish the rule of law, follow the will of the people to end the civil war, and give them the rest they deserve. Otherwise, the blood shed for you will finally seek your due retribution, and you will die by your own sword! ”
After reading this letter, Jihong burst into tears. Wu Tingfang was also moved by the courage of Jihon and the Orthodox Church, but he quickly restrained his emotions. "So, how did the Bolsheviks respond to your letters?" ”
"Not only did they not relent, but they confiscated the property of the Moscow Kremlin church, and I was convicted of being an 'enemy of the people'," Tikhon said. ”
Then, in court, the prosecution presented evidence showing that Lenin had signed the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars on the Separation of the Church from the State and the Separation of Schools from the Church. The decree stresses that "no church or religious community has the right to own property. They do not have legal personality. In addition, in the decree: "All property of existing churches and religious communities in Russia is declared to be owned by the people." ”
This resolution was in effect an order to the Bolshevik local authorities to immediately begin looting, and the revolutionary fanatics destroyed churches and monasteries and brutally persecuted the clergy. The looting of the Bolsheviks reached appalling proportions. The looting was accompanied by the brutal destruction of churches and monasteries - icons and church utensils were burned. At that time, there were about 78,000 churches and monasteries in Russia. There are 568 churches in Moscow, and 42 chapels have been destroyed, closed or diverted. The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, a monument of Russian culture and architecture built to commemorate Russia's victory over Napoleon's army, was completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, built in 1636 on Red Square, was destroyed, and many churches were transformed by the Bolsheviks: workshops, warehouses, garages and even stables and pigsties. Bolshevik extremists built a generator factory compressor station in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady in Moscow. The Bolshevik government also forbade the ringing of bells. Stop selling books with religious content and dispose of them as waste paper.
The prosecutors accused Trotsky of being even more shameless, and that under the guise of aiding the hungry, he advocated the introduction of a decree on the seizure of church property - the "Instructions on the Liquidation of Church Property", which was in fact his wife, Natalia Natalia, who was the head of the People's Commissariat of Education, the Department of Museum Affairs and Monuments, and the General Directorate of Science and Technology. Concocted by Sedova.
Natalia. Shedova was the daughter of Zhivotowsky, a big European banker, and was once married. While studying natural sciences in Geneva, she became acquainted with many Ikra revolutionaries, including Trotsky, whom they later married. At this moment, she, as a war criminal, is also standing in the dock. Wu Tingfang asked: "Did you formulate the "Instructions on Cleaning Up Church Property?" ”
After Trotsky's death, Shedova was in a trance, but her consciousness was still clear, she nodded and whispered: "Yes." The people demand that we do it. ”
Patriarch Jihon said: "The people? The people demand that you, robbers, rob the treasures of the Strast Monastery and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior? The people are asking you to take Alexander. The Nevsky Lavra was robbed? You even snatched up the monastery? ”
Wu Tingfang knocked on the gavel and said, "I haven't asked yet." Please remain quiet. The prosecution is invited to present evidence of the looting of churches by the Bolsheviks. ”
The prosecutor from Belarus testified with the Pravda report: "In the Moscow Strast Monastery and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the great Bolsheviks seized a total of 30 poods. The most precious are two metal garments with icons set with diamonds. There are 151 diamonds on one icon alone. Of these, 31 are large diamonds. In addition, there are strings of pearls and many small diamonds on the garment, and another icon with 73 diamonds. There are 17 rubies, 28 emeralds, 22 pearls. The light wheel on the head of the icon is of extraordinary value, almost full of precious stones, and the total value of the treasures seized from the convent is about 10 million. ”
Tikhon testified bitterly: "In the course of the confiscation of church property by the Soviet government, an astronomical amount of property was seized, which was a hundred times the annual budget of the state. However. The inhabitants of the Volga River died one after another in a heavy catastrophe. The drought-stricken areas along the Volga River have a total population of 32 million, of which 20 million are starving. Treasures looted from churches and monasteries were transported to Germany by the Bolshevik government, supposedly to buy food for the victims. In fact. There is food in the country, but it is also shipped abroad for sale! Stolen money for the Bolshevik top brass to squander! They live in villas and cars, but they don't care about the lives of the people! ”
The international prosecution also noted: At the behest of the Bolsheviks. For the first time in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church, there was such a massive and terrible act of blasphemy: they openly excavated holy bones in monasteries and churches.
The war criminal Bruyevich confirmed that Lenin had asked him to give him the photographs taken during the exposé of the saints: "I personally showed Lenin the pictures, and he was deeply satisfied. ”
Lenin and the Bolsheviks were so brutal and insulting to the feelings of the faithful that hundreds of spectators and numerous journalists in the courtroom were in an uproar.
International prosecutors also point to the death sentences imposed and carried out by the Bolsheviks. Among the thousands of innocent people killed, the names of Father Nadezhkin, Father Sokolov, Father Terekin, Father Tikhomirov, and Father Zazeyrsky are prominently visible.
In court, Patriarch Jihon recounted the interrogations, threats, and pressures he had suffered.
Witnesses testified in court as follows when Patriarch Gikhon was released from prison: "Thousands of people crowded the square near the prison. A horse-drawn carriage was parked in the distance. A large number of anti-police workers formed a human wall on the road from the prison to the carriage. Split the crowd in half. It took a long time for the prison door to open, and the Patriarch came out. Loose long gray hair. A shaggy beard, dry cheeks, deep-set eyes, naked in a shabby military coat, and barefoot. The excited crowd knelt down in unison. The Patriarch walked slowly to the carriage, his hands blessing the crowd, tears streaming down his tormented face. The moment was so shocking that even the escorted Bolsheviks bowed their heads reverently before the victim. ”
The International Military Tribunal for the Far East found that the brutality of the Bolsheviks' persecution of the clergy was difficult to put into words. They were arrested, tortured, drowned, buried alive, burned alive, poisoned, and even thrown into dung pits, sawn into sections, crucified, stripped of the inner skin of their hands and feet, and a total of 8,100 clergy and cultivators were shot. In total, more than 20,000 people were arrested, exiled and executed.
In the end, Wu Tingfang, on behalf of the judges of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, issued a historical trial verdict against the Bolsheviks, and the Bolshevik top brass were basically sentenced to death by hanging in accordance with the law, and other war criminals were sentenced to corresponding prison terms and sent to Siberia. The verdict was more than 2,000 pages and nearly a million words, and it took three days to read it. The language of the court was prudent and conservative, and the findings were written in the verdict on the basis of testimony that the court considered to be conclusive and reliable. However, the conviction alone shows how vicious and lawless the Bolsheviks were, and how dark and tragic the fate of the Russian people was! These few words in the verdict are nothing less than a living "picture of hell on earth". These crimes of the Bolsheviks were reported in world newspapers and radio, and major newspapers such as the New York Times published special editions and reproduced the verdicts of the International Tribunal for the Far East for several months, and most of the intellectuals of the countries woke up and became disillusioned with Bolshevism. Wu Tingfang's name is even more famous in Europe and the United States, and even reaches the point of being as famous as Li Hongzhang and Song Xiaofei.
At that time, the majority of the people in Europe and the United States were Christians, and they were very angry at the blasphemy and persecution of religious figures by the Bolsheviks, and Britain, the United States, Germany, and France also successively issued laws prohibiting the spread of Bolshevism in the country. Coupled with the improvement of workers' working conditions in Europe and the United States, such as the introduction of the eight-hour workday, the Bolshevist movement in Finland, Germany, Poland and other countries gradually fell into a low ebb.
However, in China, because the majority of the Chinese people and intellectuals are not Christians, it is difficult for them to empathize with the persecution of Christians and the church by the Bolsheviks, and some intellectuals and the masses still have sympathy for the Bolsheviks' "pauperism". So, Song Xiaofei personally wrote an article "The Nature of the Bolsheviks" to explain: "In the political game of the Bolshevik Revolution, people's ethics and morality have been completely subverted, the 'evil' in human nature has become a magic weapon to win, and the soft-hearted will become the earliest out-of-game, and such a 'good elimination mechanism' will be even worse and more terrible than the old system it has subverted." The 'moral nihilists' created in the course of the Bolshevik Revolution only divided the world into two camps, the enemy and the enemy, and everything outside of themselves, including the vague gray area, was regarded as a hostile stronghold, and the internal struggle between one or the other became a norm, so the Bolsheviks could only maintain the cohesion of the organization with the harsh repressive system of the Cheka and the means of terror, and deal with heretics by strengthening the functions of centralism, hierarchy and repression. In such a society, allegiance to the organization transcends everything, and sincerity, love, kindness, benevolence, and family tenderness are swept into the 'bourgeois garbage heap', and the evil side of human nature is greatly unleashed under the dominance of Bolshevik moral fashion, and it will only grow farther and farther from the ideal. In the midst of the Bolshevik hubris, ignorance, and intolerance ideology, the people were used as a money-making tool, banished to the deformed, noisy, pungent and smelling machine, reduced to its cogs and screws. ”
In this article, Song Xiaofei also put forward the "dream of the Chinese people": to build an independent, self-confident, democratic, prosperous economic and social justice republic with Chinese characteristics, a humane republic that serves and therefore hopes that individuals will also serve it!
Song Xiaofei's article was printed and distributed to the whole party of the Baath Party and the navy, army and air force of the Chinese Empire, and all newspapers and radio stations in the country were published as headlines, and the controversy over Bolshevism in China gradually subsided. "Wumao" has become a new word for scolding people in China, and the most ruthless word to scold others is to scold others, "Your whole family is Wumao!" (To be continued......)
