The first competition is the competition of direct flight speed, which is also the most interesting among the various flight world records, after all, for aircraft, flight speed is one of its most important indicators, and it is also the goal pursued by the world aviation community.

There are two types of aircraft participating in the non-line flight speed competition, one is a small competitive aircraft, and the other is a transport aircraft. First up are the small racing aircraft, a total of 12 aircraft, which will complete the maximum speed of a 300-kilometre round-trip straight route. Twelve planes will take off from the two main runways, then rendezvous at an altitude of 3,000 meters, and then depart at the same time to fly to the switchback point 150 kilometers away, and finally return to the airport in the northern suburbs of Paris.

Of the twelve aircraft, two are M29 jets of the Dragon's Soul Ordnance Complex, but one represents Sweden and the other represents Germany. On the tarmac, these two M29 jets are obviously larger than the other participating aircraft, after all, they have a maximum take-off weight of more than four tons, and the maximum take-off weight will be increased to seven tons in the future.

When the host of the organizing committee of the competition announced the start of the competition, the first to taxi to the runway were the ****75 fighter jets of the United States and an M29 jet. However, compared with the M29 jet, the movement of the ****75 fighter is much smaller, and the sound of one of its Pratt & Whitney R-1830-17 14-cylinder star engines when they start is completely masked by the huge roar of the wind and thunder turbojet engine on the M29 jet.

All the spectators stared at the M29 jet, and those who got closer even blindfolded their ears because the jet engine roared too loudly. Even the ground trembled, and the billboards and glass windows were buzzing.

Although neither plane has yet to take off, all the spectators know that there is almost no suspense about the outcome of this first event, and it must be the M29 jet. However, when the time comes, it will be necessary to see whether the German M29 jet is the first to come back or the Swedish M29 jet is the first to land.

The two planes taxied to the runway almost at the same time, but the take-off process was different, only to see the M29 jet like an arrow that has been off the string, straight to the other end of the runway, its taxiing speed is too fast, almost twice as fast as another ****75 fighter jet that taxied from the starting point at the same time.

In fact, jet fighters do glide much faster than propeller fighters, because the two are completely different in aerodynamic layout. One is flying at high speed and the other is flying at low speed. The general propeller fighter, especially before World War II, took off at a ground speed of only about 150 kilometers, and the fastest speed was not more than 200 kilometers, but jet fighters were generally above 250 kilometers, especially high-altitude and high-speed fighters, and the take-off speed reached more than 300 kilometers.

The M29 jet left the ****75 behind at once, just from this point of view. Even the average viewer understands that jets are definitely much faster than propeller planes in terms of speed. This is true not only on the ground, but also in the heavens.

The hot flames sprayed from behind the butt of the M29 jet aircraft seem to scorch the runway, and under the impetus of the powerful wind and thunder jet engine, its speed soon reached 250 kilometers per hour, and at this time ****75 has not exceeded 100 kilometers per hour!

However, the two took off almost at the same time, because the ****75 is a typical propeller aircraft. Its take-off speed is directly proportional to the take-off distance, although its take-off taxiing speed is much slower, but because it uses a straight wing and the fuselage is light, the take-off taxiing distance is much shorter. Whereas, the M29 jet is a high-speed aircraft. The weight is also large, and it does not have an afterburner, so in the take-off distance, it is almost twice as long as the propeller fighter. In this way, the two planes left the runway almost simultaneously and rushed into the blue sky.
