During the Spring and Autumn Period, Xiahe City was the capital of the Yue Kingdom, and its name was Langya. According to the "Historical Records", there is the ancient city of Langya ten miles northwest of Langyatai. In the late Spring and Autumn period, the Yue Kingdom destroyed Wu, and its territory expanded to the coastal zone south of the Great Wall of Qi. Gou Jian dominated the Central Plains, and once made Langya. "Wu Yue Chunqiu" recorded: "Yue Wang Goujian 25 years of apprenticeship Langya, set up a viewing platform to look at the East China Sea. Then he ordered Qin, Jin, Qi, and Chu to respect the Zhou room and make a blood alliance".
After Gou Jian's death, his descendants were defeated by Chu. The capital was moved to Wu (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). Langya became a city in Yue.
Qin annihilated the Six Kingdoms, unified the world, and implemented the county system. It is divided into 36 counties, and Langya County is located in Xiahe City.
During the Western Han Dynasty, Han Gaozu was four years old and placed Langya County here. In the seventh year of the Lv Dynasty, the county was changed to the Langya Kingdom, and Liu Ze of the Feng clan was the king of Langya. In the first year of Emperor Xiaowen, the country was abolished and the county was restored. When Wang Dumang was the emperor, he changed his name to fill the county. Later Han County was moved to Dongwu (now Zhucheng), with 51 counties under its jurisdiction, and Langya was relocated to a county. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty visited this place twice in the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC) and the third year of Taizhi (94 BC) and visited Langyatai.
During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Langya was still a county and belonged to the country of Langya.
