The QBZ97 automatic rifle (once called Type 99 when the picture was first released in 1999, and officially called Type 97 in the 2000 publication) is an export version of the QBZ95 automatic rifle, with a caliber of 5.56MMNATO popular in Western countries, mainly firing SS109 rifle cartridges. The characteristics of the QBZ97 gun are basically the same as those of the QBZ95, and the most obvious difference in appearance is the shape of the receiver and magazine of the two guns. The Type 97 has a downward protruding interface in the position of the feeder, while the Type 95 is relatively flat; The Type 97 ammunition feeder is a "straight bend straight" aluminum alloy magazine with straight insertion loading and unloading and side clamping, that is, the M16 standard magazine, while the Type 95 uses a "full bending" type plastic magazine with front and rear clamping and rotating loading and unloading.

Due to the position of the magazine and the ammunition used, the feed routes of the Type 97 and Type 95 were also different. Due to the different ammunition fired, the internal ballistic parameters of the two guns were different, and the average chamber pressure of the Type 97 was much higher than that of the Type 95, and in order to maintain the good dynamic characteristics of the automata, the Type 97 adjusted the diameter, position and air chamber capacity of the air vents on the basis of the Type 95.

The bolt nose is also different. Type 97 is much larger than Type 95 shelling force, in order to use reliably, on the basis of Type 95, the relevant structure of the shell hook, such as the position of the shell hook shaft, the strength of the hook teeth, etc., has been improved. In addition, the diameter of the tip of the Type 97 firing pin and the matching with the aperture of the pin in the nose are very different from those of the Type 95.

China's Type 95 Automatic Rifle Type 95 5.8mm Automatic Rifle is a new generation of standard automatic rifle in China, which was designed and finalized in 1995 and has begun to equip the troops one after another.

The gun has a stockless structure; The automatic mode is the air conduction type, the nose is rotated and locked, and it can be fired in single and continuous shots, and the ammunition supply has two kinds of 30 rounds of plastic magazines and 75 rounds of quick-loading drums, and the mechanical aiming device is a hole type. It is equipped with a muzzle device for noise reduction and flame reduction.

The automatic rifle is capable of firing a family of 40 mm grenades; and can be attached to a 35-mm grenade launcher that can be quickly disassembled; It is also equipped with a 3x white light sight and a low-light sight, which can accurately aim at vivid targets up to 200 meters in low-light conditions at night. The gun is equipped with a multifunctional bayonet that can be quickly loaded and unloaded.

The Type 95 5.8mm gun family consists of an automatic rifle, a squad machine gun and four ancillary products - a white light sight, a low-light sight, a multi-purpose bayonet and a down-mounted grenade launcher. There are also short rifles and rifles with folding stocks. With the automatic rifle as the main gun of the new gun family, the basic structure of other guns is the same as that of the rifle, and most of the parts such as automata and ammunition supply can be interchangeable or universal.

The 95-type 5.8 mm gun family has an optimized design structure, a reasonable layout, and the use of new technologies, new processes, and new materials has significantly improved the comprehensive performance, and various technical indicators have reached an advanced level, showing that the development of China's rifle has reached a new stage.

Its performance characteristics are as follows:

(1) In order to fully exert the power of the 5.8 mm bullet, the barrel has a sufficient length. It had a stockless structure, which shortened the full length of the gun (746 mm for rifles and 840 mm for machine guns). The ammunition feeder can be universal, has a large ammunition capacity, can fire in bursts, and has fierce continuous firepower.

(2) The whole gun is short, light in weight (3.25 kg for rifle, 3.95 kg for machine gun), good mobility, and superior to similar foreign weapons.

(3) The recoil of the 5.8 mm bullet is small, the power characteristics of the whole gun are stable, the overall layout is reasonable, the gun is comfortable to hold and aim when shooting, the vibration is very small, and the accuracy of single and point points has reached a very high level.

(4) The mechanism is reliable, can adapt to various climatic and environmental conditions, and has a long service life, which is superior to similar foreign weapons.

(5) The basic structure of each gun in the gun family is the same, most of the parts are common, and the moving parts such as automata and ammunition supply equipment are interchangeable, which is very convenient for service use and maintenance.

(6) It has mechanical aiming, simple night aiming device, and is also equipped with white light sight and low-light sight, which can adapt to all-weather combat.

(7) One gun is multi-functional, and one family has multiple guns. A 35mm grenade launcher is mounted under the rifle of this clan, and grenades can also be fired from the muzzle, expanding the point and surface killing capability. It has a multi-functional bayonet and scabbard, which is easy to carry, and has the functions of assassination, chopping, cutting, sawing, and cutting, and can also be used as a dagger, expanding the tactical role of the rifle. In addition to rifles and machine guns, the new gun family also has short rifles (the total gun length is 560 mm, the whole gun weighs 2.8 kg), and the folding butt rifle, realizing a family with multiple guns, which can meet the needs of personnel of all arms.

(8) The extensive use of new materials such as engineering plastics and duralumin alloys is of great benefit to improve the appearance of the whole gun, improve the anti-corrosion ability, reduce the quality of the whole gun, and simplify the production process.

(9) In view of the different components, the materials adopt advanced technologies such as black phosphating, anodizing, and full-color spraying to improve the anti-corrosion and anti-decolorization capabilities, which completely solves the problem of poor corrosion resistance of the original Type 56 weapons.

(10) Reform and innovation have been carried out in the manufacturing process, using new processes such as precision forging barrels, hot die forging aluminum casing, and plastic parts injection molding, and more CNC machine tools and machining centers are used to process key parts to ensure the processing accuracy requirements and realize the complete interchange of assembly parts.

Although the Type 95 gun family has improved its tactical performance compared with the gun family equipped by our army in the past, some shortcomings of the Type 95 gun family are also put forward in the use of troops, such as:

Due to the limitations of the understanding and technical level at the time of development, the simplest connection seat type is adopted for the expansion of the function, and although the structure of this method is simple, it cannot form a modular function, and it is difficult to meet the needs of the troops for diverse functions.

The simple night sighting device is assembled by filling the radioisotope Ju-147, which has the problems of insufficient brightness and easy to fall off in use, and the half-life of Ju-147 cannot meet the requirements of long-term storage of military products, which brings many inconveniences to the troops. The second-generation low-light sight developed cannot be fully equipped due to the price problem, and the night vision distance of 200 m is also insufficient, and the all-weather combat capability needs to be improved.

The inconvenience of the optical sight is a problem that the troops have complained about a lot, and this is mainly caused by the restriction that the Type 95 automatic rifle is limited by the requirement that "the mechanical sight should be used as the main aiming method", and the aiming baseline is too high after the optical sight is installed, and it is impossible to aim comfortably close to the cheek.

The firing method of the 91B underhanging anti-riot shock bomb launcher is also inconvenient, because the supported gun similar to the M16 usually uses the magazine as the holding part of the underhung grenade launcher, and the Type 95 automatic rifle adopts a non-supporting structure, and can only use a small grip as the holding part after installing the underhung anti-riot grenade launcher, which is inconvenient when actually used.

The Type 95 gun family adopts a supportless structure to make the whole gun layout very compact, but it also brings the shooter close to the smoke source when shooting, and the gunpowder gas that is not completely burned overflows from the shell throwing window, the handle groove and the heat dissipation groove of the upper cover, which directly stimulates the shooter's eyes or diffuses the aiming baseline, so as to affect the shooter's continuous aiming and shooting, which also brings inconvenience to the weapon work.

The 5.8mm ordinary ammunition used in the double-base flat ball powder does not burn completely, and the Type 95 gun family usually has the problem of difficulty in removing the gas regulator and piston after firing 2,000 rounds (the number of projectiles that need to be cleaned for the whole gun), and after a large number of projectiles, there is also the problem that the air guide hole becomes smaller due to the accumulation of gunpowder residue. In addition, in order to obtain good external ballistic performance, the 5.8mm ordinary bullet shifts some of the problems to the internal ballistic, resulting in excessive muzzle pressure, which brings many difficulties to solving the problem of muzzle noise and flame. The 5.8mm ordinary bullet uses a conventional thundermercury primer, which has the problem of primer corrosion after long-term storage, leaving hidden dangers for reliable use.

Plastic parts are easy to grind white, which is mainly a problem with the plastic material itself. In order to meet the requirements of reliable use at low temperature -45 °C, the glass fiber content in the plastic can not be too high, and the problem of whitening is mainly the lack of strength of plastic, which is difficult to solve.

When the Type 95 gun family is disassembled and combined, sometimes there will be the problem of missing parts and parts being reversed and misassembled, which brings inconvenience to the normal use of the weapon.

Many of these issues were raised in the early days of the troop trial, and the Type 95 gun family has been improving, and some of the problems may have been resolved now. It has not been announced how many models have been improved. But from the analysis of the pictures that have been made public, at least three stages have passed. The distinguishing features of these three stages can be identified by the shape of the pull handle and the number of heat dissipation holes in the upper handguard.

Chinese Type 87 Automatic Rifle: The QBZ-87 Type 5.8mm rifle can be said to be a small-caliber modification of the QBZ-81 Type 7.62mm rifle, and its principle, structure and shape are very similar to the Type 81 rifle. The QBZ-87 automatic rifle fires a DBP87 5.8mm ordinary bullet, which is about 23.9% lighter than the 7.62mm ordinary bullet, which is conducive to reducing the burden of individual soldiers and increasing the carrying capacity. Moreover, the 5.8 mm ordinary bullet in the air flight velocity, energy storage, flight time and the ability to penetrate hard targets, are more than 7.62 mm bullets, the projectile warhead has an initial velocity of 920 m / s, an effective range of 400 meters, and a theoretical rate of fire of 700 rounds / min, all of which are better than the Russian 5.45 mm guns and the Western 5.56 mm SS109 bullets. In addition, the low temperature performance of the projectile propellant is good, which is conducive to ensuring the power under severe cold conditions. The QBZ-87 automatic rifle has a total length of 945 mm, a length of 1105 mm with a bayonet and a length of 730 mm with the butt folded. The total weight of the gun (including the empty magazine and the attachments attached to the gun) is 3.95 kg, the empty magazine weighs 0.14 kg, and the gun weighs 0.52 kg after 30 rounds of ammunition.

After the design of the QBZ-87 rifle was finalized, it was specially designed for a special appearance modification for a certain need, and its main changes were that the butt was "L" shaped, the rod was made of aluminum alloy tube, and the outer bread was plastic, which was special in shape and very easy to use. The upper and lower covers, grips, and grip seats are all made of plastic parts, the magazine is an overall plastic structure, and the whole gun is black and gray, and the appearance of the whole gun has changed greatly, which is unique and beautiful. Equipped with a white low-light sight and a multi-purpose bayonet, it can be equipped with a 35mm grenade launcher. The whole gun is lightweight, has a long direct firing distance, and has a good firing density. The failure rate is lower than that of the Russian AK series, which has the best reliability among foreign weapons of its class (failure rate
