Chapter 63: Rescue
"Squeak!" Shore pushed open the door to the weapons room, and at a glance he saw Maia in the far middle of the room.
"I'm finally back to fight alongside you again. Shore stepped forward quickly, he picked up the twin swords, and in an instant he felt his soul resonate with the sword.
"Who?" said a roar from behind Shore, but the roar stopped abruptly in an instant.
The demon who noticed the abnormality opened his eyes wide, and Maia pierced his chest, everything happened in an instant, and the demon didn't see what was happening clearly.
"I'm here to put an end to the sins of hell. Shore looked at the demon in front of him and said, "Remember, if you see Satan, don't forget to help me bring him a message." β
Shoal pulled out Maia, and the demon's body collapsed to the ground, and Shoal rearranged his outfit before retracting Maia's twin swords into the scabbards behind his back.
It was time to go to Wakaba's side, and Shore took out his map, and after carefully determining his location, he made his swift stride towards his destination.
As he turned the last corner, Shore pulled out Miya from behind him, and the demon guards guarding the door saw only a flash of blue light, and the next moment they were all on the ground.
"It should be pretty easy. Shore said as he looked at the demons who had fallen in front of him, but suddenly a gust of wind struck behind Shore, and he jerked his head, and the blade swept through his hair.
"Human, don't get carried away just because you've knocked down a few classes!" roared the demon who attacked Shore, who was the height of two Shores and held an ugly-looking blade in each of his hands.
"Looks like you're a demon, right?" asked Shore as he looked up at the demon.
"That's right!" the demon laughed insolently, "I'm not just a demon, it won't be long before I'll be able to hear about those guys you killed, and I'll definitely become the Thirteen Lordsβ"
Before the demon could finish speaking, he stopped abruptly, and the Shore in front of him had disappeared at this moment, and a very fatal wound appeared on his chest.
"Stop bragging over there. Shore snorted disdainfully, "You're far worse than them, and I don't like your contempt for humanity." β
"How so?" the demon collapsed with a look of disbelief, and Shore walked straight to the door without even looking at him.
Shore opened the door, and the room was larger than the one Shore had been in, and Chikusa Wakaba was sitting quietly on the edge of the bed reading a book.
"Is that the captain?" Chigusa Wakaba looked up when she noticed someone coming in, and the moment she saw Shore, her tears flowed uncontrollably.
"It's time for us to go back. Shore held out a hand towards Chikusa Wakaba, "Come with me, Wakaba!"
"What about Rex?" "Instead of grabbing Shore's hand right away, Chigusa Wakaba asked the question.
"Rex is gone. Shore looked at her and said, "Now there is only Faust here, only the enemy we must defeat." β
"No, Captain, you don't understand!" Chigusa Wakaba said anxiously, "Listen to me, Rex is Faust, and Faust is Rex, the two of them cannot be distinguished, the two of them are originally the same person." β
"What did you say?" Shore was surprised, "does that mean that Rex is not controlled by Faust in his body, and everything he is doing now is his own idea?"
"So to speak. Chikusa Wakaba then said, "He's just taken the wrong path, I think there's still a chance to redeem him, trust me, captain!"
Shore subconsciously touched his left eye, which was a remnant of his dark side, and now that they were back together, Shore was such a being.
"I see. Shore nodded and said, "I'll do everything I can to pull him out of the darkness, but I'll have to use your power, Wakaba." β
"Thank you, Captain. Chikusa Wakaba finally grabbed Shore's hand.
On the other side, the demons who were guarding in front of Vincent's room were all lying on the ground, and Kane reached out and pushed the door open, only to see a gray-haired Vincent sitting in a chair, his eyes closed as if he was contemplating something.
"It's time for us to go, Secretary General Vincennes. Kane said to Vinson.
"It's you. Vincent opened his eyes and looked up at the sound, but anger was evident in his eyes.
"That's right, it's me, Kane Mait. β
"What are you doing here?" asked Vincent, in a hoarse voice, "did you finally decide to kill me because you finally felt that there was no need to keep me anymore?"
"Not really. Kane knew Vincent was still only a henchman, "I'm here to take you out, as a member of the BPRD, Kane Mait. β
"What do you mean by that?" Vincent looked at Kane in surprise, "Do you mean you are?" β
"I'm sorry for the offense. Kane laughed, "But I have to do it in order to gain their trust, Secretary General Vincennes, from now on, I don't need to be a false being anymore." β
"That's right. Kane had a look of realization, tears glistening in his eyes.
"It's really hard for you, Kane, even if you are misunderstood by everyone, you still choose to do this, but because of this, I am even more convinced that the victory in this war will be on our human side!"
"I believe that too. Kane helped Vincent up, "But Secretary-General, Mephistopheles already knows about it, what are you going to do about it?"
"This is the mistake I made with Rajer. Vincent sighed heavily, "All the blame should be borne by the two of us, remember, Kane, don't let this matter be known to him!"
"I understand. Of course, Kane knew who Vincent was stopping him, and every time he thought about it, he felt a heavy weight in his heart.
"What are you going to do next?" asked Vincent.
"Rendezvous with Shore. Kane replied, "By the way, you probably didn't know that Team X is now in hell. β
"Really?" said Vincent, with joy in his tone, "that's great, which means the final battle is about to begin?"
"Exactly. β
"Good. Vincent reassured, "Hurry up, I don't want to let my old bones drag you young people down." β
On the top floor of Abaddon, Mephistopheles was sitting on the couch, looking up at the richly decorated ceiling, and did not come back to his senses until the voice of Faust came to his ears.
"What's the matter, are you sleeping?"
"No, just say something quickly. Mephistopheles replied.
"Your guess is unfortunate, Kane is a traitor, no, I should say that he infiltrated as an undercover agent from the beginning, and now he has released Shore. β
"I've never fully trusted humans from the beginning. Mephistopheles plucked her ears, "I'm still expecting this, so I'll teach you the rest, Faust." β
"I will. Faust said.
"Do you think you can handle it with one against two?"
"I think so, after all, my strength is equal to yours, do you think I will be defeated by them?"
"Don't let that make you feel like you're underestimating. Mephistopheles said calmly, "Shore doesn't need to say more, I've already seen his strength, it's very strong, and I should be able to barely tie with him before I don't demonize." β
"What about Kane?"
"That man has never used his full strength since his resurrection, and I have reason to suspect that this is deliberate, in other words, his full strength is completely incalculable. β
"Didn't you give him this power?" asked Faust, with some impatience, "as if you didn't know anything at all." β
"I didn't give him the power. Mephistopheles explained, "The awakening of the Word must be achieved on one's own, and only on one's own strength and talent, which can only be acquired when one is in a desperate situation or when one is dying." β
"So what I did was to resurrect him, he had the strength to awaken the power of the Word, and at the moment of his resurrection, it belonged to the junction of life and death, so he also awakened the Word. β
"I see. Faust got it perfectly.
"But then again, you have two powers at the same time. Mephistopheles laughed, "I've never seen what the Word and the Demon will look like when these two powers are used together." β
"Then you'll soon be able to see it all for yourself. Faust said, "Do you want to take part in this battle?"
"Look at my mood. Mephistopheles leaned back on the couch, "I think you'll be enough on your own, and I'll get to you as fast as I can if something happens." β
"I wonder what you're up to?" Faust grumbled.
"Tomorrow is the time to start the ceremony. "Our moment of victory is coming, they don't have much time left, remember, we must not hurt Shore's life." β
"I've repeated this thing so many times, and my ears are almost calloused, so there's no need for Kane to stay, right?"
"He's at your disposal. β
"Well, at least it's not a completely boring fight. β
"Then let's go. Mephistopheles picked up an apple on the table, "Good luck with your victory." β
Communication was cut off, and Faust frowned slightly, but quickly returned to his previous state.
"Let's get started. Faust raised his hand, and the black mist gradually began to spread.
"Shore, you came on time. Kane greeted Shore from a distance.
"It's just a little bit faster than you. Shore smiled, "Wakaba, let me introduce you, this is my old friend Kane." β
"There's no need to say so many polite words. Kane helped Vincent and said, "Wakaba, that Shore guy should be annoying, right?"
"No. Chikusa Wakaba smiled, "The captain has always taken good care of me." β
"I didn't expect you guys to take care of people. Kane grimaced, "Why didn't you show it when you were with me?"
"Why are you talking so much?" Shore kicked Kane, "Can you give me a little serious, it's time to get down to business." β
"Understood. Kane replied with a smile, "The exit is not far from here, let's go now." β
"Okay, let's go. Shore nodded and said, "Before those guys notice, let's get out of here as soon as possible!"
The four of them headed in the direction of the exit, and where they could not see, a black mist was spreading, and all the places covered by the fog were reduced to darkness.
"Found it. Faust smiled, "Then begin, this is a battle that won't end until one of them falls!"
