Chapter 136: War Breaks Out

Although it did not promote the independence of the Ryukyus this time, it was made clear that the management of Okinawa did not belong to Japan, but was entrusted by the United States, so the Aoyama family and other Ryukyu natives were still relatively satisfied, although they could not become independent, but as long as they got rid of Japanese control, they could be considered successful for the time being, so their support for Downing further increased.

In fact, even if this does not succeed, as long as we see that many people in Okinawa have stable jobs due to the establishment of the Downing Industrial Park and will not be bullied by the US troops stationed there, everyone will continue to support the development of Downing, an American, in Okinawa.

Due to the change of the U.S. policy toward Japan and the government's encouragement of trade with Japan, businessmen and consortia began to enter Japan, at this time Downing secretly congratulated himself that he moved the industry to Okinawa earlier, avoiding the situation of playing against these big consortia in Tokyo, and although the strength of these consortia is far greater than that of Downing, it takes a while for them to adapt to the Japanese market and build factories, so the impact on Downing's business is not great. When they get used to it, it is estimated that the Korean War will break out soon, and then not to mention American businessmen, even Japanese businessmen will have enough to eat.

The Korean Peninsula is located in the northeastern part of the Asian continent and has historically established several countries, and in 1910 Japan officially annexed the Korean Peninsula and established colonial rule. After the end of World War II, according to the secret agreement in the Yalta Conference, the United States and the Soviet Union occupied the south and north of Korea respectively with the 38th parallel as the boundary, that is, the 38th parallel. After the start of the Cold War, both the United States and the Soviet Union learned the lessons of Europe and boldly set up an iron curtain on the Korean Peninsula, which was a vacuum zone of the Yalta Agreement.

In 1948, the Republic of Korea was established in the south of Korea with Syngman Rhee as president, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was established in the north with Kim Il as the core, and the United States and the Soviet Union withdrew their troops from the Korean Peninsula one after another.

In 1950, after obtaining Stalin's crucial permission to "agree with the North Korean leadership's analysis of the situation and prepare for the vision of national reunification by military means", the DPRK actively prepared its troops, and on June 25 of the same year, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea claimed that the government of Syngman Rhee, under the manipulation of the United States, had suddenly carried out a full-scale armed invasion of the area north of the 38th parallel, with Stalin's consent. Kim Il Sung ordered the army to cross the 38th parallel and launch a surprise attack on the Republic of Korea.

Since two-thirds of the army of the Republic of Korea Defense Forces at that time had not yet reached combat readiness, there was no power to parry at all, three days later. On June 27, Seoul (present-day Seoul) was lost. During the retreat, the South Korean top brass panicked and blew up the Han River Bridge, sending a large number of troops to North Korea, and breaking down the South Korean army's ability to resist faster. It is worth pointing out. Kim Il Sung did not inform China in advance of the detailed battle plan and specific date for the start of the war, so Chinese mainland, like the United States, did not learn until the beginning of the war. This can also be called a unilateral "undeclared war" by the DPRK in the true sense of the word.

However, although China and the United States did not know about this major event that caused a sensation in the world, Tang Ning must have known it early on, although he forgot the specific date of the war, but he still had an impression of the general date, so he ran to the United States just after the New Year, always waiting for the outbreak of war, and bought a large number of stocks such as military steel that would skyrocket during the war.

Although the United States did not know about this beforehand, Truman reacted very quickly. In the early morning of 25 June, just after the outbreak of war, US President Harry S. Truman ordered the US Far East Air Force stationed in Japan to assist the ROK in the war, and on 27 June again ordered the US Seventh Fleet to sail into the ports of Keelung and Kaohsiung to patrol the Taiwan Strait and prevent the PLA from liberating Taiwan. The United States representative to the United Nations also submitted a motion to the Security Council, which was adopted by a margin of 13-1 (Yugoslavia voted against) in the absence of the representative of the Soviet Union in the absence of the representative of China since January 1950 against the continued occupation of the seat by the Kuomintang government in Taiwan.

The United States was leading the way, and 15 other countries also sent small numbers of troops to the war. Great Britain, Turkey, Canada, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, France, the Philippines, Greece, Belgium, Colombia, Ethiopia, Luxembourg, South Africa (I will describe each of these countries in the Korean War later.) and the Republic of Korea Defense Forces are under the command of the U.S. Far East Forces stationed in Japan. Admiral MacArthur was the commander of the U.S. Far East Army. On July 5, U.S. troops took part in the first campaign against Korea. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that Japan, at the behest of the United States, also secretly sent a mine-sweeping unit, which was the first time that Japan sent troops abroad after World War II.

Since Downing is well prepared. The timely activities, coupled with the United States' strategy of using Japan as a rear base, Downing obtained a large number of military orders, including not only nylon, cola and other ordinary items, but also a part of the light weapons order, after more than three years of preparation. Finally we are seeing results.

In the early stages of the war, the Korean army was victorious: on June 28, it captured Seoul; occupied Daejeon on July 20; occupied Mokpo on July 24; On July 31, Jinju was occupied. The South Korean Defense Forces and U.S. forces were forced all the way back to Busan. At this time, the 25th Division of the US Army received an order to hold the southern defense line and was not allowed to retreat. The Korean People's Army has occupied 90 per cent of the land and 92 per cent of the population of the Korean peninsula. On 6 August, General MacArthur met with other senior officers in Tokyo and persuaded them to implement the risky Inchon landing plan. (Due to the current situation, I can't describe the Korean War positively, so please forgive me!) )

On 15 September, MacArthur boarded the flagship Mount McKinley to personally supervise the battle, and under the cover of more than 300 warships and more than 500 aircraft of the United States and Britain, the US Tenth Army successfully landed at Incheon, attacked from the rear of the North Korean army, cut off the waist line of the Korean Peninsula, and quickly recaptured the port of Incheon and nearby islands. On September 22, the joint ** who had retreated to the Busan ring defense circle counterattacked, and on September 27, the Inchon landing force joined up with the Busan troops near Suwon, and recaptured Seoul a day later.

As a logistics and military supplier, Tang Ning is not qualified to participate in the front-line battle, of course, he doesn't want to go, after all, the bullets and shells on the battlefield don't have long eyes, and he has finally created a situation and saved some money, in case he is hung up by stray bullets, it will be too much. And after all, I can't shoot at my compatriots, so staying in Japan to make money seriously and enjoy it honestly is the most correct choice. However, during this time, he has not been idle, and has taken the opportunity to carry out several plans that have been prepared for a long time. (To be continued.) )
