Chapter 210: The Soviets' Masterpiece (Part 3)
Chapter 210: The masterpiece of the Soviets
That's right, this anti-tank dog is Ma Zheng's secret weapon, and it is also his biggest reliance against the Japanese tank troops.
In fact, Ma Zheng analyzed the weapons and equipment of the Japanese army and the soldiers and other aspects very early, and the soldiers were honestly not afraid of anything, everyone was carrying a head on two shoulders, and no one was missing any parts than anyone else, even if they were inferior to the Japanese in terms of physical strength, but there would not be much gap. In the south, the difference may be a little bigger, but in the north, the physical gap is much smaller, on the contrary, the men in northern China are the same as Japan in terms of height.
There are three things that really make Ma Zheng jealous, poison gas, aviation, and chariots! The Japanese army will often use aviation in battles, and neither the Nationalist Government nor other local troops can compare with the Japanese army in this regard, China's industrial level is like that, and there are only a few hundred aircraft, and the Japanese army is not at the same level at all, so how to deal with the bombing of the Japanese air force is very important.
The best way to deal with the air force is to use the air force to drive the other side away, and if it is really not possible, it will set up air defense positions on the ground, and with the current level of aircraft manufacturing of the Japanese army, it is still impossible to unscrupulously bomb places with air defense positions.
Secondly, the Japanese army will use special ammunition from time to time in battle, and this so-called special ammunition is poison gas shells, mainly mustard gas. There is no other way to do this except to use gas masks in case of emergency, but fortunately, Ma Zheng's unit has captured a lot of gas masks in the nearly one-year war against Japan.
But only this tank is not easy to deal with, the Japanese tank refers to tanks and armored vehicles, although compared with the main tanks developed by European countries, Japan's tank armor is pitiful. The weight is also very light, and the standard skin is thin and the filling is large. But in any case, it is also a tank, a super-jumbo that rifles and machine guns say cannot penetrate.
The best equipment to deal with tanks is tanks, if Ma Zheng now has an armored force composed of 200 tanks, he will not care about these small tanks of the little devils. But it's a pity that he didn't, and if he didn't, he had to do it in a way that he didn't have.
In addition to fighting tanks against tanks. The best weapon for fighting a tank is a war defense gun, and it is okay to have an anti-aircraft machine gun without a war defense gun. The frontal armor of the Japanese tanks was only a dozen millimeters thick, and the anti-aircraft machine guns could still shoot through, but unfortunately there were no such things.
In desperation, Ma Zheng thought of the tactics of the Soviets against the Germans during World War II - anti-tank dogs! That's right, the earth dog bomb was not come up with by Ma Zheng himself, but a great invention of the Soviets.
On more than one occasion on the Soviet-German battlefield of World War II, German tank units faced such a peculiar enemy, and these specially trained dogs would crawl under the tanks and detonate the explosives they carried. Soviet soldiers called them canine mines or canine bombs. German soldiers called them anti-tank dogs.
In fact, the use of puppies as a counterweight to the enemy dates back to 1924, when the Soviets approved the use of dogs on the battlefield. However, the purpose of using military dogs was very different from that of later years, including searching for soldiers who had disappeared in the snow and finding buried mines by the smell of explosives.
Having learned about the potential of dogs, the Soviets began to consider a series of experiments related to canine training to enable military dogs to deliver bombs to the weakest bottom of German tank armor.
In order to enable military dogs to accomplish this task, the Soviets used the work of Pavlov, the founder of the "classical conditioning" theory, and Edward Thorndike, the first researcher of the "operant conditioning" theory.
During training, people first starved military dogs. After a few days, let them feed under the activated tank. In principle, this allows military dogs to secrete saliva when they see tanks. Because they will associate the tank with mealtime. What the Soviets sought, however, was for military dogs to run to the tank when they saw it.
In the early days of training anti-tank dogs, the Soviets envisaged having the dogs carry bombs, run to the target location, and then bite the elastic buckle on the belt that binds the bombs, drop the bombs, and then return to the position. Bombs are usually equipped with a timing device that will explode automatically when the dog is evacuated. But after a year of training, the Soviets found that even the smartest dogs could not cope with this task.
While dogs can generally cope with a single target after multiple trainings, once the environment or target location changes. The dog will make a mistake and even run back to the position to release the bomb. Since the bombs on the dog's body are timed when they set off, this often results in casualties between the dog and the trainer.
So instead the Soviets let the dogs carry out suicide bombing missions, they put food under the tank, and then let the hungry dogs go under the tank to find food. Over time, the dog becomes reflexive.
At first, the training tank was stationary, and after a period of training, the tank would start with food, and use empty ammunition and other props to simulate the battlefield environment, so that the dog could gradually get used to it. By wartime, each dog would be tied with a 10-12 kg mine, which was modified to have a 20-centimeter wooden wrench on the mine, and when the dog managed to get under the tank, the banter would be pulled to detonate the mine.
When the Soviet-German war broke out in 1941, the Soviet army put anti-tank dogs into real combat. At that time, a total of 40,000 dogs were trained in various dog training centers in the Soviet Union, most of which were anti-tank dogs. During the Battle of Stalingrad, anti-tank dogs blew up 12 German tanks parked at the airfield near the city. And during the Battle of Kursk in 1943, anti-tank dogs also wounded 13 German tanks.
However, due to the lack of advanced training methods at that time, the Soviet army used anti-tank dogs to achieve very limited results, so in 42 years the Soviet army canceled the establishment of anti-tank dog companies.
But Ma Zheng is different, as the most elite special forces commander of the Republic, Ma Zheng and others often need the assistance of police dogs when fighting, because each special combat team member has his own police dog as an assistant. For a long time, Ma Zheng and his comrades-in-arms were systematically learning how to train police dogs, so he knew how to train dogs.
Now the objective conditions have limited the anti-tank capability of the Eighth Route Army, and Ma Zheng has no choice but to use this "cruel" way to deal with the Japanese tanks and armored vehicles in order to reduce the casualties of the troops.
After more than half a year of preparation, Ma Zheng and his special combat team members trained a total of 400 native dogs, which had been hidden by Ma Zheng as treasures, in the hope of giving the Japanese army an unprecedented "surprise".
Originally, Ma Zheng thought that the anti-tank dogs would be a blockbuster on the battlefield in Wuhan, but this time he brought fifty anti-tank dogs, ready to be used on the Japanese troops attacking Wuhan.
But I didn't expect that because the Yangtze River was full of rivers and swamps, the Japanese army basically did not use chariots, and the battle was relatively smooth, so Ma Zheng did not waste precious dogs.
This time, he heard that the Japanese Southern Route Army had used a large amount of armored forces, and Ma Zheng knew that it was time for his trained dogs to appear, in order to ensure that he could inflict heavy damage on the Japanese armored forces in one fell swoop. Ma Zheng specially asked the reserve members of the special combat team who stayed in the base area to bring 200 dogs south to Fengzhen to support the operation of the Duqi Brigade.
I didn't expect these anti-tank dogs to really be a blockbuster! The destruction of a complete tank wing of the Japanese army with the first shot, and the intimidation of an infantry brigade and regiment fled in a hurry, it was simply amazing.
However, Ma Zheng also knew that the main reason for such a brilliant result this time was that the Japanese did not understand the anti-tank dogs, especially those infantrymen, they did not need to be afraid of dogs, as long as they did not touch the wooden plank bombs on the bombs, they would not explode, during this period they had countless opportunities to kill the dogs, thousands of people were frightened by dozens of dogs, these Japanese were really enough.
But this kind of thing can only happen once, and when they go back and think about it, they can come up with a way to deal with anti-tank dogs, after all, there are so many ways to deal with dogs. The next time, even if you use the dog again, the effect will not be as brilliant as this time. (To be continued.) )
