A mineral composed of magnesium and aluminum oxides, a gemstone with a long history.

Its name comes from two sources: one is derived from the Greek word "spark", which describes its red, fiery color, and the other is that it comes from the Latin Spina, Spinells, which means thorn, because of its cubic shape and sharp horns.

Because of its bright red color, spinel has been mistaken for a ruby since ancient times. There are many fascinating rubies with legendary origins throughout history, all of which were later identified as red spinels. For example, the 361-carat Timur Ruby and the Black Prince's Ruby, which was set in the crown of the British king in 1660, are actually red spinels.

And in this realm of snowwalkers, spinel seems to be a stone of religious significance, symbolizing the wisdom of the Lord of the Empty Wheel.

In the Holy Book there is a story about the wise man Arsa who was exiled to the Sea of Death for stealing his neighbor's sheep, and he was poisoned by thirst and drank the waters of the Sea of Death. Arsa prostrate herself under a lanau tree and confessed her sins and asked God for mercy.
