Chapter 50: A War of Words
(Updates will resume from today)
When Jiang Cheng and Mr. Zhu were talking about logistics unification.
Public opinion circles in China and Japan began to surge.
This matter has to start from May 1, 1936, which has a different meaning for the people of Tianjin at that time. In the early morning of this day, people walking on the bank of the Haihe River near Dazhigu suddenly found several corpses floating on the river, and people's hearts immediately lifted, and the local police rushed to the scene and asked the members of the Dazhigu Life Saving Association to hire someone to salvage the body. At first, people thought it was a passerby who accidentally fell into the river and drowned, or someone who committed suicide by jumping into the river because of their family's financial difficulties. However, slowly people found out through newspaper reports that these floating corpses have a great origin, and they are not as simple as imagined.
Every morning from now on, floating corpses will be found in the area. According to newspaper reports at the time, from May 1 to 8, 1936, a total of 67 floating corpses were found.
This is also the floating corpse case, one of the so-called seven strange cases in later generations.
This is the first time in the history of Tianjin that such a large-scale floating corpse appeared, for a time, the streets and alleys, there were many discussions, and all kinds of speculation and legends were even more shocking. Faced with this situation, the Tianjin Municipal Police Bureau and the Wuhe Water Police Department began to pay attention to finding out the source of the body.
At that time, Gai Zhongmou, the chief of the Wuhe Water Police Bureau in Hebei Province, was subordinate to the substation and boats, searched everywhere, and found a total of 300 corpses. On May 14, three steamboats carrying an important task went to the North Canal, the South Canal, and the Daqing River, where they went to check whether there were floating corpses upstream, and if there were floating corpses upstream, they would be salvaged locally, so that the corpses would not float downstream and affect the social order in Tianjin's urban area. The results were disappointing, as the water was so shallow that boats could not move and could not drown people on these rivers.
In this way, the floating corpses of the Haihe River became a fog in Jinmen in May 1936, and no one seemed to be able to tell the truth. In the blink of an eye, it was May 1937. At this time, the Beijing-Tianjin area could already vaguely feel the breath of Japan's all-out invasion of China, and the local authorities and news media in Tianjin were taboo against the Japanese concession and the Japanese. And just this month, people found a large number of floating corpses on the Haihe River, this time different from the previous year, and many drug addicts were added to them. This is to divert people's attention, or the drug beggar is the protagonist of the floating corpse in the Haihe River.
From April 6, 1937, 87 corpses appeared in the Haihe River in Tianjin, and for a time people were panicked, and there were many rumors, one of which was that from the big smoke house in the Japanese concession, there were many dying beggars who took drugs here, and once they were found to be dying, they would be carried out and thrown away.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon of May 8, 1937, in the place adjacent to the Japanese concession of Longwang Temple, there was a sandwich road at the back door of the second telephone bureau at that time. At that time, the detective team found four coolie-looking people along the Longwangmiao River, carrying 6 corpses, two of whom were captured on the spot, and the other two escaped.
The detective team of the Tianjin Municipal Police Bureau arrested two abandoned corpses, named Kong Zhaoyuan and Yang Xiang, who were transferring six corpses, one of which was still alive. According to their confessions, they were instructed to transfer the bodies to the banks of the Haihe River, but refused to admit that they had abandoned the bodies into the Haihe River.
So where did these bodies come from? One thing mentioned above is that the Japanese army in Tianjin began to build a large number of warehouses, and these warehouses used a large number of laborers, and these laborers were very mobile, and often disappeared without anyone asking, and immediately everyone speculated that it was probably the Japanese army, and after they completed the construction of the fortifications, in order to keep these fortifications secret, they killed these Chinese coolies and threw their bodies into the river.
After this incident was reported by Ta Kung Pao, it immediately caused an uproar in public opinion, and the Japanese side naturally refused to admit it, and the press circles of the two countries began to engage in a war of words.
But there was no peace, and there was another wave. On May 22, 1937, the Japanese Consulate in Shantou inspected Qingshan, did not follow the police law to obtain a move-in permit, and forcibly moved into Shenzhou Foreign Bank to live. Japan also dispatched ships to Shantou to intimidate and create the Shantou incident.
Although this matter is not small, it is often forced to go down, and in the end, it will be over.
But then a Japanese ronin thought that there were Japanese warships in Shantou now, and it was already the world of the Japanese, so he went around swaggering and making trouble, and some policemen couldn't stand it and had an argument with him, which eventually turned into a brawl, and the two sides were actually not much injured, but on the cusp of this storm, the newspapers and public opinion immediately added fuel to the fire, so that the embassies of both sides protested against each other.
After Shantou rose up again, Tianjin also began to make a second effort.
At that time, people believed that the floating corpses in the Haihe River in Tianjin were the work of the Japanese army, and protests against Japan were held every day, and the business of Japanese businessmen also plummeted. Immediately, some overseas Japanese believed that this was a provocation by China against Japan and needed to put pressure on the Chinese government, and a few hairy boys, instigated by well-intentioned people, actually captured the customs sub-card and demanded that Song Zheyuan and the Nanjing government apologize to Japan, otherwise they would continue to attack.
This succession of events led to the rapid destruction of the "peaceful" diplomacy of Sato Diplomacy. There is a clamor of voices everywhere on Japanese soil to teach China a lesson. The legend of Tanabata is sung throughout Tokyo's underworld. And the Chinese side is also preaching the concept of anti-Japanese resistance everywhere, and all discerning people have understood that the Sino-Japanese war is already on the verge of breaking out.
Tianjin
Looking at the results made in his hands, Mogawa Hidekazu smiled and said to the Japanese officer opposite, "I believe that in this way, the rotten atmosphere in the country should be blown away a lot." ”
Tashiro Wanichiro nodded and said, "Then the next step, the goal of your Maochuan agency is to explore the military deployment in the Pingjin area and prepare for the next part of the imperial army." ”
Hidewa Mogawa excitedly said loudly, "Hi!! ”
Yan'an
Chairman Mao is taking Tu Sizong and others to inspect the barracks.
When he saw that everyone in the barracks was practicing combat skills, Tu Sizong couldn't help but ask, "Has the training of your army always been so strict?" Or is this a grinding gun? ”
Ye Jianying, who was accompanying him, said with a smile: "This is a large-scale military training activity that we have recently launched, and we will compete in each combat subject, and finally select the champion, and we will give certain material encouragement and spiritual rewards." Therefore, now every fighter's training enthusiasm is very high, and it often appears that he has to practice for himself during his rest time. As for whether we are sharpening our guns in battle, we will naturally know when we go to the battlefield in the future. ”
Tu Sizong had led soldiers, of course, he knew that such a large-scale training of troops was not only to do enough work in mobilization, but also to have sufficient support in materials, so he asked: "Mr. Mao, does it seem that the materials of your Red Army are very rich?" This kind of training requires a lot of rations alone. ”
The main purpose of this inspection was to decide on the future reorganization of the Red Army and other issues, although he did not want to be too ostentatious to make the White Army jealous, nor did he want to show weakness, Chairman Mao said: "We have not only engaged in large-scale military training activities, but also engaged in large-scale production activities, so we still have sufficient military rations." ”
"But your army seems to be a little bit worse in terms of ordnance, and there are actually people who practice assassination with red tassel guns, could it be that your army is preparing to learn from Yue Wumu? Use the Yuejia gun to fight the Japanese invaders? Tu Sizong smiled as he pointed to the soldier training with a spear in the distance.
Chairman Mao was not annoyed, but said: "Anti-Japanese resistance relies on actions rather than mouths, and fighting wars relies on brains rather than equipment." Some troops with foreign guns and cannons ran away when they saw the Japanese, and they didn't dare to fight with them, and some people with big swords and spears also dared to fight with the Japanese. ”
Tu Sizong snorted and didn't speak, Shao Hua said, "We all see your army's determination to resist Japan, but the snake can't be headless, I don't know?" ”
Chairman Mao nodded and said, "Our two parties are originally Chinese parties, during the Guangzhou period, even I used to be the acting minister of the Central Propaganda Department, and then too many things happened, who is who is not helpful to say, but the brother is the wall, the outside is insulted, there is a clear training in ancient times, now Nanjing is the brother, Yan'an is the brother, if the sincerity and joint efforts to the outside world, the brother will naturally be the brother." Today, the whole country is demanding unanimous resistance to Japan, and this requires the unity of the whole country in order to produce strength. All in all, as long as there is a joint resistance against Japan, everything is easy to talk about. ”
Hearing Chairman Mao say this, the White Party delegation was speechless, and at this time, bursts of cheers came from the playground in the distance.
Tu Sizong said curiously, "I don't know what happened to make your soldiers so happy." ”
Chairman Mao knew that Jiang Cheng was back, and he was worried about whether Jiang Cheng had brought something from the future to cause a sensation, Ye Jianying said on the side, "That's the competition field over there, I remember that today is a bomb throwing and stabbing competition, it should be that everyone can't help cheering when they see the fighters' superb combat skills." ”
Chairman Mao smoked a cigarette and waved his hand and said, "Let's go, let's take a look." ”
When I arrived at the martial arts training ground, I saw the soldiers sitting on the ground in the order of the squad platoon, applauding from time to time.
I only saw that there were seven or eight small pits arranged every 10 meters in the training ground, a total of 8 columns, and the soldiers were crawling in the simulated bunker from time to time looking up to observe and then throwing practice bombs, and every time someone could accurately throw into the small pit in front of them, there were soldiers cheering.
When the commanders and fighters in charge of the game saw the chairman and the others, they hurriedly ran over to salute.
The chairman waved his hand and asked, "How's it going?" Did the race go well? ”
The commander pointed to a fighter on the right and said, "Everyone is doing very well, especially that fighter, who has already won the first place in the fight and is now in the finals." ”
Chairman Mao smiled: "It seems that this is a master." ”
I saw that this bald man threw three grenades in a row and all entered the pit, and such a wonderful performance made the visiting delegation members also applaud.
"It seems that there are indeed warriors in your army, and such soldiers are rare in the Central Army," Shao Hua praised.
At this time, the game was over, and the result was that the bald man won the first place.
I saw this bald man being hugged and cheered by everyone. Shao Hua asked, "I don't know which general's good soldiers at this time?" ”
Chairman Mao also looked at the commander and fighter.
I saw a person coming out from behind and said with a smile: "I know this person, it's my soldiers." is called Wang Tiedan, it is said that he has practiced kung fu for a period of time, and he joined the army during the Ruijin period. ”
The person who spoke was glasses, tall, and smiling. It was Liu Bocheng.
Tu Sizong said angrily, "It turned out to be a soldier of the Bodhisattva Army God, no wonder it is so powerful." ”
It turned out that Liu Bocheng was in the school for 10 months in 1921, and he not only excelled in his studies, but also became famous for his good manners, good conduct, and bad habits, and was called the "Bodhisattva" in the army by his classmates. In March 1916, while commanding the attack on Fengdu County, he was shot in the right eye and disabled. In the process of healing, in order not to damage the cranial nerves, he endured the pain of the heart, insisted on not applying anesthetics, and was praised as the "god of war" by the German doctor who operated on him. So Tu Sizong said that he was a bodhisattva military god.
The chairman smiled and said, "It's all our Chinese's army, there is no such thing as anyone's soldiers, let's go over there and have a look." ”
Late at night, Jiang Cheng finally waited for the chairman, and when the chairman knew that Jiang Cheng had really contacted modern military weapons, he was also very excited and said, "Okay, wow, so that our Red Army can really be said to be strong." ”
Jiang Cheng nodded and said, "With the weapons I ordered from Germany, the armament of our Red Army will not be strained." ”
Chairman Mao smoked a cigarette and said, "Fighting a war does not depend on weapons, if it depends on weapons, we don't want to resist Japan, anyway, we can't win the war, the key is people." Boss, you still have to worry about this. ”
Mr. Zhu took out a book from his arms and said, "I have removed some of the textbooks that Xiao Jiang brought last time that we can't use, added some of our native methods, and compiled new textbooks, I think I will organize people to increase printing in a few days, I believe that our fighters have mastered these combat skills, and our soldiers' combat effectiveness will definitely be greatly strengthened." ”
Chairman Mao nodded and said, "This combat technique is one thing, this tactic is another thing, I think we still have to fight guerrilla warfare in the early stage of the anti-Japanese war, not frontal warfare." Xiao Jiang, tell us about the guerrilla tactics we used in the anti-Japanese battlefield. ”
As soon as Jiang Cheng talked about this, he immediately sat down and talked about the guerrilla tactics such as mine warfare, tunnel warfare, sparrow warfare, and siege warfare that he had seen in books and movies before. Mr. Zhu kept writing notes, preparing to teach the Red Army the experience of these later generations in advance.
After listening to Jiang Cheng's introduction, Chairman Mao sighed: "The power of the people's war is infinite, and I think that as long as we give full play to the enthusiasm and wisdom of the people, the Japanese devils are indeed not terrible." ”
