Chapter 103: Spirit Treasure Sect

While Sima Shu was hiding in Luoyang City and was busy fighting for power and profit, Zheng Yin, the great master of the Lingbao Sect, was studying the secret book that Sima Shu had left him at the beginning. After more than a month of research and thinking, Zheng Yin finally perfected the main god system that the Lingbao Sect believed in.

And he also changed the name to the Lingbao Sect, in this new Lingbao Sect, all the members of the sect worship only one main god, the Yuan Shi Tianzun, referred to as the Great Tianzun or the Yuan Shi Tianwang. Yuan Shi Tianzun, that is, Pangu, is also known as "Pangu Emperor", "Yuan Shi Tianwang" and "Yuqing Yuan Shi Tianzun".

Before the chaos opened, the Yuan Shi Tianzun (Pangu) opened the world with supreme mana, and achieved the world we live in now with his physical body, and then the Tianzun Yuan God returned to heaven. Soon after, Tianzun felt that the world was too bleak, so he used himself as an example to create a group of intelligent beings—human beings.

After having human beings, Tianzun did not abandon his people, but repeatedly went down to help the weak human beings, Fuxi met the river Tuluo book and played gossip, Suiren clan drilled wood to make fire, etc., all of which were guided by Tianzun, it was under the step-by-step guidance of Tianzun that human beings gradually got rid of the primitive life of drinking Mao Ru's blood, and gradually began to evolve the civilization of slash-and-burn.

However, with the continuous development of human beings, fierce conflicts frequently broke out between various tribes, and at this time, Tianzun could not bear the pain of division in the world, so he personally gave birth to one of his original gods, Linfantuo, in the bear tribe, named Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor. The Youxiong tribe gradually grew under the leadership of the Yellow Emperor, and then merged with another powerful tribe, the Yan tribe, and finally after some integration, the Yellow Emperor unified China at that time.

After the Yellow Emperor completed the task of unification, he directly rode the dragon to heaven, and was respected as the ancestor of China by later generations. In the Lingbao Sect, the Yellow Emperor is the son of Yuan Shi Tianzun, and after the Yellow Emperor ascended to heaven, he enjoyed the worship of all people with Yuan Shi Tianzun. It is precisely because of the identity of the Yellow Emperor that the successive rulers of China later claimed to be the son of Tianzun, referred to as the Son of Heaven.

In this new Lingbao Sect, Zheng Yin will lead the persuasion of people to be kind, preaching that good people have good rewards, and those who do good deeds will live and die well, and after death, they will be ranked in the immortal class and directly enter the heavenly court. The bad or evil people will not only not die well in their lives, but after death, they will fall into the eighteen layers of hell, and in the next life, they will be bullied by others, and if they are more serious, they will not be able to live forever, and they will have to enjoy all kinds of torture every day in hell.

In addition, Zheng Yin also preached to the world through the Lingbao Sect valuable qualities such as diligence, bravery, kindness, and tolerance according to Sima Shu's instructions, and encouraged everyone to live an active life and change their destiny through their own hands.

After perfecting the theoretical knowledge of the Lingbao Sect, Zheng Yin's master and apprentice began to preach in the Guanzhong area, and it was easy to do things with the support of someone above! With the support of the Guanzhong local government, in just one month, no less than 30 Lingbao Taoist temples were established in various parts of Guanzhong.

There is at least one in every county in Guanzhong, and in Taoist temples, believers can not only receive spiritual guidance, but also receive low-cost or even free medical services. This is what Zheng Yin was inspired by Sima Shu, who has always been a master of Chinese medicine, and most of the Taoist priests are highly skilled doctors.

Therefore, providing medical services in Taoist temples is really a trivial matter for Zheng Yin and others, but for the majority of ordinary believers, it is too attractive. In this era, there were too many poor people who could not afford to see a doctor, so the middle and lower class people in the Guanzhong area first accepted the Lingbao Sect.

Not to mention the upper echelons of Guanzhong, under the hint of Sima Shu, the powerful and powerful families in Guanzhong began to believe in the Lingbao Sect, and even officials and officers at all levels joined the Lingbao Sect.

Zheng Yin and others took the opportunity to begin to publicize that Sima Shu was a god sent by the Heavenly Venerable to save sentient beings, which greatly deepened the sense of identity of the people under Guanzhong's rule with Sima Shu. In particular, the former Di and Qiang people, after nearly three years of transformation, they have completely accepted their new identity.

If you walk around Guanzhong, you will find that you can basically no longer see the scene of Hu and Han living together, because there are Han people everywhere you look. All kinds of characteristics related to other ethnic groups have been destroyed by the local government, which has also brought great difficulties for later historians to study the history of ethnic minorities.

Later historians agreed that it was from the Jin Dynasty that the ethnic minorities around China began to die out and merge into the Han Chinese, and that it was a series of ethnic integration policies implemented by the Jin Dynasty that the ethnic minorities around the country gradually disappeared into the long river of history, and China gradually became a single ethnic group.

After the emergence of the Lingbao Sect, the ethnic minorities in the Guanzhong area who had been reformed began to convert to the Lingbao Sect, because once they became the Lingbao Sect, they could not only receive spiritual guidance, but more importantly, becoming the Lingbao Sect meant being recognized by the prince. Sima Shu is a conqueror and a strong man for the ethnic minorities in Guanzhong.

The Di and Qiang people have always worshiped the strong, if they can get Sima Shu's approval, it will greatly increase their sense of honor, not to mention that they can also enjoy free or even low-cost medical services when they join the Lingbao Sect, where can they find such a good thing?

In this way, under the openness of the local government of Guanzhong, the Lingbao Sect quickly became the largest religion in the region, and gradually spread out of Guanzhong to the surrounding areas. Especially in the Central Plains, Sima Shu even hinted that Zheng Yin and others would speed up the pace of infiltration.

The Lingbao Sect is a weapon that Sima Shu uses to compete for influence with the family, and of course, Sima Shu is not unaware of religion. First of all, it is clearly stipulated in the texts of the Lingbao Sect that clergy are not allowed to participate in political and economic activities, and those who violate them will be deprived of their priesthood at least and lose their lives at worst.

In addition to accepting incense money and donations from believers, all the sources of funds of the Lingbao Sect can only apply for grants from the imperial court, which is also a means for Sima Shu to restrict religion. Of course, at this stage, he will definitely vigorously support the development of the Lingbao Sect.

"Your Highness, this is the Lingbao Sect book sent by Master Zheng Yin!" Little Deng Zi walked in with a thick stack of paper.

"The master has sorted it out so quickly? It's great to put it here and see it later! Sima Shu said, staring at the document in front of him.

This is the volume of Tao Kan's participation in the imperial examination, and now the first imperial examination in the Western Jin Dynasty has ended. Tao Kan unsurprisingly won the praise of the chief examiner Zhang Hua, and listed his essay separately for the prince to study. After seeing it, Sima Shu happily pointed it out as the first subject champion, which was also one of the biggest discoveries of the imperial examination.

The purpose of the imperial examination is to select talents from the poor family and from the new city and Guanzhong Xinxue, there is an irreconcilable contradiction between him and the family, so it is difficult for the family to be used by him, and even if there are people from the family who come to take refuge, Sima Shu may not dare to use it.

For example, the two Lu Ji brothers, after the fall of Jia Mi, they quickly left Luoyang and returned to Jiangdong, even if Sima Shu repeatedly kept them, they couldn't stop them from returning.

However, there are still some talents in the Hanmen, such as the two people of Changshi Gongsun Hong and Sheren Qisheng under the command of the King of Chu earlier, it can be said that without these two people, the King of Chu would not have seized the power of the court in a short time. Not to mention Sun Xiu, who played a decisive role behind King Zhao, it can be said that this talented man single-handedly pushed King Zhao to the top.

This time, Sima Shu also caught a lot of talents, especially Tao Kan, which made him happy for a long time, put down the Chinese piece in his hand, and picked up the booklet sent by Xiao Dengzi just now. These are the various rules and regulations of the Lingbao Sect after Master Zheng Yin's reform, and Sima Shu carefully read them one by one.

(1): From top to bottom, the priesthood includes the Heavenly Master, the True Person, and the Taoist Master; The Celestial Master is the supreme leader, and is currently held by Zheng Yin. The real person is generally held by a believer with authority. In normal times, the affairs of each diocese are handled by a council composed of a number of real people, and the Taoist chief is the highest person in charge of each Taoist temple.

(2): Simplify religious rituals, declare the Tao Te Ching as the only basis for faith, and in ordinary times, Taoist temples should be responsible for guiding the congregation to perform rituals such as fasting and worship; In his view, religious rituals should not be too complicated, otherwise it would be difficult for ordinary people to participate directly, but they could not do without, otherwise they would not be able to deepen their faith in their own religion.

(3): Vigorously advocate frugality, oppose luxury, and strictly prohibit all flashy and hedonistic behaviors;

(4): The whole country will be divided into several dioceses, and each diocese will be governed by the real people and the diocesan prefect group, and in order to limit their power, each diocese will also add a council composed of the real person, the prefect and the upper class of ordinary believers, who will be responsible for supervising the various real people and the diocesan group.

(5): Encourage hard work and get rich, and abandon laziness and laziness;

……

Sima Shu took a closer look at the things sent by Zheng Yin, and felt that the reform of the Lingbao Sect was going very smoothly, at least after the reform, the Lingbao Sect became more rigorous. Some people may say, didn't Sima Shu worry that the power of religion would be too strong, and in the end he would control the government?

Speaking of this, Sima Shu had to thank Sage Kong, Sage Confucius: Zi Bu is silent, and the power is chaotic! The Confucian scholars in the world are very resistant to or do not believe in what Taoism proposed, which may be why the two major religions of Taoism and Buddhism have not developed and grown in China.

In addition, another point is that he had mentioned this issue to Zheng Yin at the beginning, and Master Zheng Yin also tried his best to make the Lingbao Sect a peaceful and non-offensive religion in the process of transformation. This, coupled with economic constraints, is enough to keep religious power within an acceptable range.

The wealthy families were still waiting and seeing the Lingbao Sect that suddenly appeared, and they couldn't judge what the effect of Sima Shu had come up with such a thing. The Lingbao Sect that came out of Guanzhong quickly developed vigorously in the Central Plains region with the strong support of the imperial court.

Those low-level ordinary people have converted to Lingbao Religion, making it the most influential religion in a short period of time. Sima Shu even had to influence the common people at the bottom through the Lingbao Sect.
