In the afternoon, the 514th Mechanized Infantry Division of the 51st Army, which had already maneuvered to the flank of the 12th Mechanized Army of the Soviet Union, used divisional artillery to intercept and strike at Soviet tanks, while more than 100 Chinese King Tiger tanks of the division's tank regiment also attacked the outermost Soviet tanks.

The largest number of tracked and wheeled infantry fighting vehicles in the infantry division quickly inserted into the Soviet tank division with their own speed, separating the tanks and infantry of the 12th Mechanized Corps of the Soviet Army. The battle continued into the evening, and the 12 mechanized corps of the Soviet army was almost completely annihilated, on the contrary, the losses of the Chinese side were not much.

On the morning of 25 April, the 51st and 52nd armies, after heavy artillery fire and aviation fire preparations, began a counteroffensive in the direction southwest of Tomsk - northeast of Novosibirsk.
