Chapter 302: Jaws

The story of the film is very simple, a rare great white shark came to the bay of the resort beach to eat people, a beautiful woman, a little boy has died for this, the government for the town 1 year of valuable tourism income, so the mayor refused to close the bath, asked the sheriff to shut up, and concealed the truth with a conscience, people are still forgetful to play in the sea, but do not know that danger is around, Sheriff Brown is distressed about this, but there is nothing to be done. This is a reflection of the greed of the government and human nature, greedy brothers are selfish and indifferent, in the face of money and interests, ordinary people's lives seem so weak and helpless, no one will care about you, and those who care about you may not be able to protect you.

Although helpless, American citizens love and hate, as evidenced by the slap of Sheriff Brown by the bereaved wife in the film, even in the United States in the 70s. This lady is right, I have no objection to the pursuit of profits, but you can't ignore life because of this, even if he is ordinary like a drop of water and weak like a small grass. The sheriff was silent, because he had the same view of right and wrong, and he had no reason and no strength to fight back, even though he was 10 times stronger than the lady and had a group of patrolmen under him. And the mayor of Harry also silently accepted all this, because he also has a sense of right and wrong, and what made me sigh the most was that Harry said to the sheriff without hesitation: "I'm sorry, Brown, you're not wrong, they blame you." "They are hateful, but they are also lovely, imagine which official of ZG can apologize for his mistakes (except when he is to God)? Alas, you can be greedy, you can be selfish, you can be indifferent, but you can't be upright.

Quint is an expert fisher in the town, he is arrogant and arrogant, and he thinks he is the best in the world. Killing a shark is a no-brainer. He took people out to sea and killed a small tiger shark, thinking that it was done, just waiting for the reward for his deeds and showing off everywhere. The great white shark is still coming. The nightmare was still there, and it was slapped hard in the face. Thus, the elements of typical American personal heroism begin to appear, the sheriff, Gwent and Martin the oceanographer go out to sea to hunt sharks, and at Quent's insistence, they only drive a small and medium-sized fishing boat, arrogance makes Quint lose his mind, ignorance makes him misjudge, and he only blindly trusts his experience and ability. When the great white shark was still able to dive into the deep sea with three floating buckets, he realized what a terrible monster he was up against.

The moment the giant shark started attacking the fishing boat and his foot touched the teeth of the great white shark, I think he must have really felt fear and regret, but arrogance and ignorance were enough to cost him his life. In fact, there is no panoramic shot of the great white shark in the whole movie, and the director only uses the deterrent shark's dorsal fin and sudden attack rhythm to create a dignified and tense atmosphere, so that the film always maintains a high degree of suspense and excitement. Monsters cannot run amok. It must die, this is the cry of the people. This is the need of society, Sheriff Brown is finally lucky to hit the oxygen tank, the huge explosion tears the shark to pieces, the shark dies, the people are saved, and the world is at peace. Heroes are finally produced (albeit not so heroic and tall :))!

The soundtrack of the film was performed by the famous Hollywood soundtrack master John Brown. Williams took it personally. Spielberg wanted to temper the brutality in the film with a soothing piece of music, perhaps with a beautiful piano piece to represent Jaws. But the composer ended up costing Jaws with Bernard. The eerie melody in Herman's style is then changed a bit, especially in terms of the shark theme, using some of Stravinsky's music for dinosaurs in the scene "Spring Celebration" from Disney's Fantasia. This also makes Jaws' music one of the most powerful in film music.

The box office and reviews of the whole film are naturally popular all the way, both the audience and film critics have given a high degree of affirmation, and there was even a scene where no one dared to go to the American beach for a while, but to Downing's surprise, someone actually raised the film to an unbelievable height with ulterior motives, that is, some people said that this play has strong political significance and anti-war feelings.

The reason is a plot in the film, that is, a conversation between Quinte, the shark catcher, and the main character of the film, Sheriff Martin and Brown Brown, in the fishing boat of shark hunting at sea. It was the eve of dawn, and while they were drunken and joking, Quint led him to a story about his involvement in the secret delivery of the atomic bomb bombing of Hiroshima. Sheriff Martin is a New Yorker who has just arrived in the town, he has a loving wife and two sons, but he doesn't seem to have a cheerful temperament. In the end, he chose that peaceful coastal town, and did his duty to solve problems for the people.

Brown, a scientist, is actually the son of a rich family, but he is full of energy, loves marine research, and is enthusiastic and brave, and can be described as a young man who helps at an important juncture. Quint, who died at the last moment, turned out to be a U.S. Navy who survived an enemy attack at sea after participating in the delivery of nuclear bombs in the final moments of World War II - but everyone also saw that after he told the truth about 30 years ago, he still did not survive many hours later. These three are the main characters in Jaws.

There is also a so-called evidence, that is, the date of the release: June 20, 1970. This day is actually the 25th anniversary of the victory of the US military in the last major war 30 years after the end of World War II -- the "Capture of Okinawa, Japan" on June 21, 1945. But both sides paid a heavy price, and Japan did not surrender immediately, and the United States knew that it would do more harm than good in the long run. As a result, the parts of the atomic bomb that had already been prepared were transported to the designated place by three planes and a cruiser. This warship is also a reference to the most serious dialogue in the movie, when Quint talks about the USS Indianapoli where he was at the time. They were torpedoed by a Japanese submarine while transporting nuclear bomb parts, 1,100 people fell overboard and were 'encircled' by sharks, and a week later, only 300 people, including him, were rescued, and Quint specified that it was June 29, 1945.......

For this kind of nonsense, Tang Ning naturally doesn't take it to heart, things in the world are like this, some people like it, there will always be people who don't like it, and he is now busy discussing with a person about a major event that can almost change this era! (To be continued.) )
