The U.S. military deployed a sizable number of bombers on Guam as a countermeasure in the direction of Japan and the Solomon Islands. In today's air battle, the Chinese Navy has dispatched a large number of shore-based air forces, and more than two-thirds of the carrier-based air forces of aircraft carriers have also been deployed, and US Commander Fargo judged that the air defense forces of the Chinese Navy's bases will be severely affected as a result, and if bombers can be used to bomb China's bases, especially to destroy China's arsenals, oil depots, and other reserve facilities, it will have a heavy advantage for the US military to carry out this campaign in the future.

After receiving a direct order from Fargo, the US Air Force in Guam dispatched more than a dozen B-1B and B-52 bombers and two B-2 bombers to bomb the Chinese military base in Rabaul on the island of New Blenish. Perhaps the bomb load of these bombers is not enough to completely destroy Rabaul, but only a few key nodes need to be knocked out to bring a tactical advantage.

However, before the B-3 flying bone was officially developed and put into service, the US military could only rely on the B-1, B-2 and even B-52 to complete its bombing mission. The B-52 has the ability to launch air-based cruise missiles, and in fact the B-52 is even safer than the B-1B and B-2 in combat, because they can launch Tomahawks from a distance of 1,000 kilometers and then the wind howls.

The U.S. B-52 bomber really launched Tomahawk cruise missiles in the airspace 1,000 kilometers away from Rabaul, and these composite guided Tomahawk missiles flew at subsonic speed and flew directly at China's base in Rabaul, because the intelligence of the U.S. military is not particularly powerful, so the specific situation of the Rabaul base is not very clear to the U.S. military, especially the Chinese army has camouflaged many facilities at the base, which also makes the U.S. military's attack actually be a rough idea, as for what is knocked out, it all depends on what they say.

The Chinese military has indeed focused on the battle in the Solomon Sea, and almost all the fighters in the base have taken off and engaged in air combat, and the defense of the base has been reduced to a low point. But no matter how low it is, the base is still guarded by 1 052D destroyer, 3 054A/B frigates and several corvettes, not to mention that the land-based base air defense system is also equipped here. When the U.S. cruise missile attacked, the base's air defense system immediately began to react, and only one missile passed through the defense and hit a building at the Rabaul base, but this building was previously used for soldiers to carry out cultural and sports activities, and now it is also abandoned, so it has not caused any substantial damage.

After discovering that the enemy bombers were approaching, the base defense fleet was immediately dispatched, and the 052D Aegis system also began to open its own defense network, and any enemy aircraft that entered the defense radius would become the target of attack. The early warning radar on the island has also clearly detected the position of the US bombers, and although the defense of the Rabaul base is not sufficient, it cannot be said that it is particularly difficult to resist the bombing of the US military.

The U.S. bombers were also very knowledgeable, and they discovered the existence of the Chinese base defense fleet, and deliberately made a detour, hoping to avoid the anti-aircraft missiles of the Chinese warships, so that although their attack was delayed, it was indeed safer for themselves, even if the warships were fast, they could not compare with the speed of the aircraft, so several destroyers could only consciously approach the base to provide protection for the base.

But as more bombers moved into the line of fire and they dropped their guided bombs desperately, the Chinese Navy's destroyers knew they were in trouble.

A number of 1,000-pound aerial bombs hit two 054A frigates, and even the mast of one frigate was damaged, and many electronic equipment were damaged by air strikes, while the other frigate was attacked in the bow and actually damaged its main guns. After the frigate lost its combat capability, the US bombers were almost destroyed, and the two bombers that dropped the bombs immediately pulled up and fled to the rear, but one of them still did not escape the fate of being shot down, and 052D shot it down with the last few remaining anti-aircraft missiles.

Although more than a dozen bombers of the US military were defeated, the 052D also ran out of its own anti-aircraft missiles, and she was only equipped with more than 30 anti-aircraft missiles at the beginning, and the other VLS were equipped with anti-ship missiles, anti-submarine missiles and cruise missiles, and although the Hongqi-16 of 054A was not finished, it was far less deterrent than Hongqi-19 and Hongqi-9 for bombers.
