The History of the Song Dynasty is one of the most disorganized and implausible of Chinese history, and many emotionally blame it on the Mongols, who first brought the Han Chinese to death. Because the Mongols were barbaric and vulgar, they did not respect the culture of the defeated country, and scribbled casually. Anyway, they can fight, what can they do if they write it wrong? To say so is to have wronged them. In fact, it is all the Han people who have created their own sins. Just like when the Northern Song Dynasty died, the Jin soldiers only rushed into the palace before retreating, and all the looting before was made outside the city, and the traitors of the Song Dynasty themselves looted in the city...
The confusion of the History of the Song Dynasty is also rooted in this.
The best source for studying the Song Dynasty is the "Actual Records" of the emperors, which is the most authoritative official information, recording every major event in the empire, and even the daily words and deeds of the emperor and ministers. Others, such as the "History of the Song Dynasty" and the "Continuation of the Zhitong Jian Long Edition", one was written in the Yuan Dynasty, and the other was after the Song dynasty crossed to the south, which was fundamentally not accurate enough, so various private notes of the Song people also became part of the official letter history.
So ask: The emperors' "Actual Records" are intact, is the history of the Song Dynasty clear? No! Since the first "Taizu Record", it has been changed again and again, and it has changed beyond recognition. Among them, the most terrifying change is the Divine Sect Dynasty! "Records of the Divine Sect" has been changed three times before and after:
For the first time in the early years of Yuanyou, Fan Zuyu, Huang Tingjian, Lu Dian, and other initiates made a noise when compiling. Huang Tingjian said, "If the public says, Gai Yushi" Lu Dian's rebuttal "If you say it, isn't it slander" Lu Dian's was a student of Wang Anshi, but he did not agree with the new law. Even he can't see the tampering with Wang Anshi's deeds by Huang Tingjian and others, and the credibility of this "Record" can be imagined...
The second revision was when Shaosheng changed the yuan, when Song Zhezong was in charge of the government after the death of his grandmother, the Empress Dowager Gao, and remembered his father's deeds and wanted to correct the name of Shenzong. He ordered the National Academy of History to find Fan Zuyu, Huang Tingjian, Zhao Yan and others, and asked where was the basis for the actual record? The answer of these people is that the super thunder people "have no other basis for their claims, and the rumors they get" are just rumors! Zhezong was furious, "The words have been seen, Shi Chen dares to be so slow and disrespectful", so he ordered Cai Bian and others to rebuild! Cai Bian's version of "Record" is based on Wang Anshi's private diary "Diary". He changed the Yuanyou version of "Record" a lot, erased it with a red pen, and called "Zhu Moben" This is the second "Record of Shenzong"...
When Song Huizong wanted to change it for the third time, it was unfortunately delayed by the invasion of Jin soldiers. It was not until the 4th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty that Fan Chong changed it again. Who is Fan Chong? Fan Zuyu's son... In the past 30 years or so, the dispute between the old and new parties has been tossed back and forth four times, nearly three generations have died, and the anger and resentment have risen to the level of disagreement.
The part about the Shenzong Dynasty in the "History of the Song Dynasty", one of the 24 official histories that has been handed down now. It is based on Fan Chong's version of the record, the first two editions of "Record" and Wang Anshi's "Diary" have been scattered in the world, and there is no way to search for it... So in an absolute sense: no one can tell you exactly what happened. So what can I do? Is it to try to analyze the existing data layer by layer and distinguish the true from the false?
When Song Shenzong was born, the peaceful light shone on the delivery room, and a large group of rats appeared, spitting out large patches of colored gas, which accumulated into thick clouds... I just don't know if Zhao Ji's mother, the invincible future warrior, and the Gao family, known as the "female Zhongyao Shun", was choked to death at that time?
On January 8, 1067, Zhao Ji, who was not yet 19 years old, succeeded to the throne. This doomed him to super confidence in the early days of his administration: My fate is up to me!
Emperor Shenzong was born in the palace of King Pu. The education is very popular. That's the point! Cultivating an emperor and cultivating a noble child are not the same textbook. He was not the same as the previous 3 emperors. Barely calculated, only Zhao Kuangyin and Zhao Guangyi brothers are similar to him. None of them have been systematically trained in the art of the emperor, but those two are geniuses of the Heavenly Sect, His Majesty the Divine Sect...
On the 10th, Empress Dowager Cao was promoted to Empress Dowager Cao, and Empress Gao was promoted to Empress Dowager Gao.
Next, we will discuss the good-neighborliness of the two countries. What should Zhao Ji call Xiao Tzuli, the queen mother of Da Liao and Yelu Hongji's mother? According to the generation, Yelu Hongji should be Zhao Ji's uncle, so his mother...? The Ministry of Rites officials said that we should call ourselves our nephews and each other's mothers. But it was vetoed by Taichang Temple officials. It is said that we should call ourselves nephews and grandchildren, and call each other's uncles and grandmothers in order to be in line with our generation. The arrogant Zhao reluctantly agreed with the statement of the Taichang Temple officials. But later history can prove it: he was not convinced!
The next major thing to consider was how to give my father a funeral. For this reason, Zhao Ji called the third envoy Han Jiang: Come! Check the accounts and see how much money we have?
I saw Han Jiang move an account book as high as a mountain: Your Majesty, you see, every pen here is all in the account and money. Shenzong was very happy, but the following scene was enough to make him vomit blood: the ledger was full of money, but there was not even a single hair in the treasury!
Take the past 1065 years as an example, the total annual income is 116138405 taels, is it a lot? Very good! But then look at the spending: it's... 120343174 two, there is a deficit if you can't make ends meet. This is not the end, there are still sporadic expenditures, known as "extraordinary" 11521278 taels, which is almost 1/10 of the annual income!
To sum it up: the fiscal deficit in 1065 was 15726047 taels! Is this the life of man? As for how it was done, I'll talk about it later. Now it's the young emperor who is lying down on the dragon book case with his head in his hand, and he has to think of a rut with all his brains. There is no way but to save...
On the 14th, Shenzong issued an edict: the funeral expenses of the first emperor Yingzong and the reward money of Shenzong's own enthronement have shrunk significantly, only 1/3 of the previous Renzong Jiayou period. Reluctantly gritted his teeth and spent the money, the rest of the money was tightly covered by the emperor, and he issued two orders: 1 From now on, please tighten your belts, the country does not have so much money to spend indiscriminately. 2. Do what you love to do and do the best at doing - Introduction.
Whenever something goes wrong, the remarks happen. Some of the emperor's proposals, some of the courtiers' automatic speeches, the content is very wide, from foreign wars, civil riots, the emperor's divorce of his wife, meteors in the sky, and so on, there is something to argue. This time, what Shenzong asked was "On the accumulation of disadvantages in the two dynasties of Renzong and Yingzong", which is a big paper, but in fact, it is also a cliché, and this kind of topic is too common. It's just that no one thought that there was any purpose behind his raising this issue.
The focus of this speech was on a few people: Zhang Fangping, Han Wei, Wu Kui, Han Qi, and Sima Guang. This is not accidental, because each of them has the strength and roots to be noticed.
Zhang Fangping's recital begins by proposing that money is the most important thing in the country, and without money, there is nothing. Then he proposed how to save money, specifically designed the funeral cost of Emperor Yingzong, which greatly saved Zhao Ji. This made the Divine Sect appreciate it very much.
Han Wei, he was a close confidant when Zhao Ji was still a prince, and what his cronies said was always mysterious. So we ignore the recital of the Eight Classics, and what we are about to see is the whispering behind him and Emperor Shenzong.
Wu Kui's recital blindly emphasizes the gentleman and the villain, saying that as long as the emperor judges the difference between good and evil, and lets the villain stay away, the world will naturally be too peaceful and rich... Shenzong yawned at this: Aiqing is right, go down and wash and sleep.
Han Qi. The Prime Minister's recital was a letter of resignation: According to custom, the former prime minister was in charge of the mausoleum (burial) of the Emperor Daxing, and he had to resign after the event. What's more, now that I'm old and in poor health, please allow me to go to the local pension area. But obviously. There is a deep subtext behind his resignation. In the past few years, there have been too many enemies, and if you don't retreat bravely, be careful that you can't eat and walk around!
And only the old bastard Sima Guang remained, who was always a unique person. In hindsight, he was different from the people above in this matter, and he kept an eye on it. But chronologically, his recital hasn't been played yet, so let's wait a little longer...
On February 6, Xiang Minzhong, the great-granddaughter of former Prime Minister Xiang Minzhong, became the queen.
March 24th. Ouyang Xiu, the governor of the government, was deposed because of the public outrage he committed in the Yingzong Dynasty. The next day, Wu Kui, the deputy privy councillor, was reappointed as the governor.
On March 6, Xia Yizong Li Liangzuo sent an envoy to meet the new emperor of the Great Song Dynasty and asked for an apology. Seek to restore the two countries.
On the 25th, Wang Anshi was appointed as the prefect of Jiangning and officially stepped onto the historical stage of the Shenzong Dynasty! Wang Anshi, a native of Linchuan, Fuzhou. Born in 1021. His father, Wang Yi, was a middle- and lower-level official in the Song Dynasty, and he traveled north and south all his life, but he did not become a Beijing official. In this way, Wang Anshi's early life was determined: 1. Fluctuating. 2. Self-contained academically.
Because of the fluctuation. He was an eye-opener, and he saw the pros and cons of the Northern Song Dynasty since he was a child. Because he was exiled from home at a young age and his father died early, he had to study poetry and books on his own, which determined his academic foundation and character throughout his life. His mind was never bound, and Confucius's Confucian doctrine did not restrain him with a sense of sacredness. Even his purpose of going to Beijing to take the exam was not so "noble", and he later clearly told the world: It was because the family was too poor, and he had to have fame and salary to support his mother and many younger siblings...
This is Wang Anshi, the most famous and controversial generation in the history of the Northern Song Dynasty!
Wang Anshi won the fourth place in the Jinshi examination in 1042, and then the road to officialdom was extremely unique, and the Northern Song Dynasty was unique. He refused all opportunities to enter Beijing, regarded fame as dung, and was arrogant in the world of the country's struggle for fame and fortune, preferring to be an official in a remote and small place in the countryside. During this time he gave up the written examination, which was the normal power of the magistrate after a term of office. He can go to Beijing to participate in the selection of pavilion personnel. With his writing skills of the Tang and Song dynasties, he believes that it is easy to get and will not waste his efforts. But he just doesn't! He also gave up the recommendation. The recommendations of top civil officials like Wen Yanbo and Ouyang Xiu were actually wasted by him! What is this for? Let's not be busy for a while, and continue to look at his life path. In 1058, he finally entered the capital and became the judge of the degree branch of the three divisions, and then entered the pavilion, so that he could be the commander of the two systems. In 1063 (the same year that Song Renzong died), he left the capital due to the death of his mother.
During these six years, he left behind a 10,000-word book to talk about state affairs, but other than that, it can be said that he is unknown. From then until the death of Yingzong and the accession of Shenzong to the throne, he has been wandering around Jiangnan...
This contains a big question about Wang Anshi's nature? Was he a great man who was 100% pure and spotless, who did not tolerate treachery, or even did not understand treachery? This is the foundation of the arguments of those who have praised Wang Anshi in the past generations. Or is he a hypocrite who is treacherous, evil, and crooked? This is the ultimate goal of suppressing Wang Anshi in the past dynasties... The evaluation of these two 180-degree turns must be analyzed from the actions of his life. That's where you can get started. Let's start with how he got the attention of Emperor Shenzong.
It is said that Zhao Ji of Song Shenzong has long known that Wang Anshi of the Dao Dao has long known that it is the credit of his cronies when he was a prince and the aforementioned Han Wei. Han Wei stood solemnly and was a person who was awe-inspiring, at least often made Emperor Shenzong awe-inspired. For example, Shenzong talked to him about fame, Han Wei refused to talk about it, and cut off the conversation from the beginning, "The saint doesn't talk about fame, he only talks about doing things" Things have become fame and fame, and he always does it with the heart of fame, and sooner or later he will become a traitor!
One day, the young Prince Zhao Ji was wearing a pair of shoes with a novel style, Han Wei saw it, and said coldly, "Wang An uses dance boots" Zhao Ji immediately took it off and threw it away.
and during the competition between Zhao Shu and Empress Dowager Cao, Han Wei reminded Zhao Wei that the crisis was coming, and "grandma" was angry and hurried to explain. Zhao Ji immediately complied and made amends for his father. Here's a little more to add: Zhao Ji is completely different from Zhao Shu, the first emperor of the end god, and he has a lot of respect for the Empress Dowager Cao.
All in all, Han Wei had a great influence on Song Shenzong and belonged to the kind of strict teacher and friend. What is especially rare is that he often expresses some unique opinions on state affairs, and every time he makes the emperor stunned and suddenly enlightened, at this time Han Wei will always say, "This is not what I said, it is the opinion of my friend Wang Anshi" After a long time, Wang Anshi's name took deep root in the emperor's heart.
There is also the only 10,000-word book left by Wang Anshi when he first entered Beijing, which simply made the young Zhao Ji's heart surge. As a result, Emperor Shenzong still did not forget to give an order to Jiangning Mansion, which was thousands of miles away, in his busy state affairs: Wang Anshi became the prefect of Jiangning!
As of now, it can be discussed: Anyway, Wang Anshi has been appointed so many times before, will this time be an exception? The exception appeared, he did not hesitate after receiving the order, and immediately took office and became an official! So those who opposed Wang Anshi had something to say: Wang Anshi is treacherous, you see: he first intended to make friends with the prince's cronies, and brainwashed the young future emperor like a pillow wind every day. and then sent his eldest son, Wang Yan, who had passed the Jinshi examination the year before, into the capital to keep in touch with Han Wei at any time. This time he promised so happily, firstly, he exposed his strong desire for fame and fortune, and secondly, he exposed his fox tail, in order to be reused, he tried his best, not only premeditated, but also carefully arranged! He was not a pure man at all! (To be continued......)
