Chapter 663: Raising Eyebrows (Fifth Update)

The chairman of the Council of People's Commissars, Comrade Ulyanov, chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of Soviet Russia, Moscow, the capital of Soviet Russia, and the Kremlin, have been in a good mood recently, and the Soviet Russian Red Army has been winning successive victories, defeating the White Army and the Intervening Army one after another, and winning victories, not only gaining a firm foothold, but also playing the prestige of the Soviet Russian Red Army and stabilizing the situation. Comrade Ulyanov had already addressed the entire Russian people and the commanders and fighters of the Red Army, in which he claimed that the White Army and the Intervening Army were grasshoppers after the autumn and would not live long. It would not be long before the Red Army was able to wipe out all the White armies and drive the intervening forces out of Russia.

"Comrade President, all the comrades have arrived. Comrade Frunze has also arrived. The secretary said to Ulyanov.

"Well, I see, I'll go to the conference room right away." Ulyanov nodded.

In the conference room, senior leaders of the Bolshevik Party and the Russian government, as well as the leaders of the Russian Red Army, gathered here. Because of the victory on the battlefield, everyone's mood is good. In their opinion, the most difficult time has passed, and soon, they will be able to win the final victory.

When Ulyanov walked into the conference room, everyone got up to say hello. With the continuous victory of the war, Ulyanov's status in Soviet Russia has also continued to rise, as if it has reached an unshakable point.

"Comrades, sit down." Ulyanov nodded in satisfaction.

After everyone sat down, Ulyanov's eyes fell on Frunze.

"Comrade Frunze, how is the situation at the front?" Ulyanov asked.

"Comrade Chairman, we have defeated the offensive of the White Army and the Intervention Army and are actively preparing for a counteroffensive." Frunze replied. As a hero of the defeat of the White Army and the Intervention Army, Frunze had a very high status in the Soviet Russian Red Army, and was almost the first person in the Soviet Russian Red Army. Of course, the position of Trotsky, the father of the Red Army, was irreplaceable.

Ulyanov nodded. Then he said, "Good! The present revolutionary situation is very good for us. The capitalist powers are holding a peace conference in Paris, a peace conference in which the defeated countries are plundered and slaughtered, and a peace conference in which the spoils are divided. The great powers will have conflicts because of the contradictions between countries and the unequal distribution of spoils. That's the case. They will have no time to take care of us. That's our chance. As long as we can seize this opportunity, we will be able to defeat the White Army in one fell swoop and drive the intervention forces out of Russia. ”

The other leaders of the Bolsheviks and the Russian government nodded their heads. Now that the attention of the great powers is on the Paris Peace Conference, it is indeed an opportunity for Russia. Besides, the strength of the current Soviet Russian Red Army has improved a lot. It is not impossible to accomplish this task. Just drive the intervention forces out of Russia. Then, the correctness of Soviet Russia is solid.

"Comrade Frunze, is the Red Army confident in accomplishing this task?" Ulyanov asked.

"Comrade President, please rest assured that we will defeat the White Army and the Intervention Army." Frunze said confidently.

Ulyanov nodded with satisfaction, and the Red Army grew from scratch, from a weak army that had been repeatedly defeated, to a powerful army. This made him very satisfied. Defeat the White Army and the Intervening Army and protect the Russian government. This was nothing more than the first task of the Red Army. In the future, the Red Army was to liberate the whole world, so that the whole world would be overshadowed by the glory of the Bolsheviks.

"Comrade President, I have a question for advice." Frunze hesitated, then said.

"Please." Ulyanov said kindly.

"Are we going to fight across the Ural Mountains and the Ural River? Kolchak's lair is in Chelyabinsk. Frunze asked.

There was a sudden silence in the conference room, compromising with the Chinese Empire. The promise that the two sides would be bounded by the Ural Mountains and the Ural River was undoubtedly a disgrace to the Bolshevik Party and the Soviet government. If the Chinese Empire can be defeated, it will undoubtedly be the best. But. Everyone knows that the reason why the Soviet Russian Red Army was able to defeat the White Army and the Intervening Army on the battlefield one after another was entirely because the Chinese Empire did not attack them. If the Chinese* army attacks in a big way, they will not be able to resist it at all. Therefore, it is better for them not to provoke the Chinese Empire.

"Don't cross the Ural Mountains and the Ural River just yet." Trotsky said.

Ulyanov nodded, and then said: "The Chinese imperialists are powerful, and their hundreds of thousands of expeditionary forces that have been tempered by the European war have withdrawn to China. Our strength is still very weak, so it's better not to provoke them for the time being. ”

"Yes, Comrade Chairman." Frunze nodded.

Taking advantage of the peace conference held by the Entente in Paris, when the main energy of all countries was contained by the peace conference, the Soviet Russian Red Army decisively launched a large-scale counterattack. The goal is simple, it is to defeat the White Army and the Intervener.

Of course, because the overall strength of the Soviet Russian Red Army is slightly inferior to that of the White Army and the Intervention Army, so, as usual, they are still fighting defensive counterattacks. After first consuming the enemy's vital forces, he will hit the superior forces and launch a counterattack to establish victory in one fell swoop.

In March 4617 (19) of the Yellow Emperor Era, the White Army launched a large-scale offensive against the Russian Red Army. The main force of the White Army under Kolchak's command carried out the main assault from the Eastern Front, while the armies of Denikin, Yudenich and Mirel carried out auxiliary assaults from the south, west and north, respectively, aimed at Moscow. The White Army committed about 1 million troops to the offensive, compared with 625,000 for the Red Army. On March 4, 4617 (19), Kolchak's army of nearly 140,000 people launched an offensive in an attempt to occupy the middle reaches of the Volga River, and then marched to Moscow after joining up with Denikin's army. About 100,000 men of the Eastern Front of the Red Army were forced to go on the defensive.

In March~April, Kolchak's army occupied Ufa, Votkinsk, Chistopol, Bugulma, Buguruslan, Orsk, Aktobinsk, approached Kazan, Simbirsk and Samara, cut off the Red Army from Turkestan, and put the defense line of the Eastern Front in danger of being broken through. The Central Committee of the Bolsheviks called on all forces of the country to fight against Kolchak. By mid-April, the strength of the Eastern Front had increased to more than 140,000 troops. In order to smoothly carry out the command of the campaign, the Eastern Front Army was divided into two campaign clusters, the southern and the northern. On April 28, 4617 (19) of the Yellow Emperor Era, the Southern Cluster turned to a counteroffensive, successively implemented the Battle of Buguruslan, the Battle of Berebeyi and the Battle of Ufa, liberated Buguruslan, Sergievsk, Bugulima and Ufa, and went out to the front of the Ural Mountains on June 20 in the year 4617 (19) of the Yellow Emperor Era. The Northern Cluster launched the Battle of Izhevsk-Votkinsk on May 25, 4617 (19) of the Yellow Emperor Era, and liberated Izhevsk on June 7.

On the Western Front, the army of Yudenich on the Baltic coast broke through the Red Army lines in mid-May and pounced on Petrograd. At the beginning of June, a counter-revolutionary rebellion broke out in the three batteries of Red Mountain, Gray Horse and Obruchev. The Red Army strengthened the defenses of Petrograd, quelled the rebellion at the batteries in the middle of the month, and launched a counteroffensive in the second half of the year, repulsing Yudenich's army.

On the southern front, Denikin's army occupied Donbass, Don Oblast, and parts of Ukraine in June, and on the 30th occupied Tsaritsyn. Since Kolchak had already retreated to the Urals, Denikin was unable to fulfill his attempt to join forces. In the context of the tense situation on the Southern Front and the victory of the Red Army on the Eastern Front, the proposal of Trotsky and Vatsettis to temporarily suspend the offensive on the Eastern Front in order to strengthen the Southern Front was vetoed by the Bolshevik Central Committee. The Eastern Front, under the instructions of the Bolshevik Central Committee, under the command of Commander Kamenev, launched a general offensive on June 21 and completely drove Kolchak's army out of the Urals by August 4.

Kolchak's army was routed, and the Entente shifted the focus of the war to the south of Soviet Russia and decided to launch a second offensive with Denikin's army as the main force. On July 3, 4617 (19) of the Yellow Emperor Era, Denikin ordered the capture of Moscow, and divided his troops from the west bank of the Don River to the Volga River to invade the north by three routes. Fighting on the front line of Kursk, Oryol, and Tula in the main assault direction were Denikin's elite troops, the 'Volunteer Army'. On July 9, the Central Committee of the Bolsheviks and Ulyanov issued a call for 'everyone to fight against Denikin'. In August, the Southern Front of the Red Army, on the orders of the headquarters, launched a counteroffensive and attacked Denikin's Kuban base camp from the flank, without success. On September 12, Denikin's army again launched an offensive in the Kursk-Oryol direction, and by mid-October it had occupied Kursk, Voronezh and Orel, directly threatening Tula and the capital Moscow. Yudenich's army also again broke through the Red Army lines on the Western Front, reaching the outskirts of Petrograd in mid-October.

In December, the Red Army liberated Kharkov and Kiev, and in January of the following year, captured Tsaritsyn and Rostov-on-Don. As a result of the capture of Rostov by the Red Army and its advance to the coast of the Sea of Azov, Denikin's troops were divided into two isolated groups, one retreating to the Caucasus, the other to the Crimea and Odessa. The Red Army pursued the victory and captured Odessa on February 7, 4618 (20) and Novorossiysk on March 27. After the remnants of Denikin fled to the Crimea, they were taken over by Wrangel, who was routed by Frunze in the Crimea a short time later. At this time, the Red Army also achieved significant victories on other fronts. On the Western Front, Yudenich's second offensive on Petrograd was repulsed, and its remnants fled into Estonia and were disarmed; On the northern front, the Red Army liberated Arkhangelsk and Murmansk successively in February ~ March of the Yellow Emperor era 4618 (20).

The great victories of the Russian Red Army on all fronts made both the Bolshevik Party and the Russian government proud. Although there were still a large number of White and Interventionist troops entrenched on Russian soil, their final victory was just around the corner. (To be continued.) )
