Chapter 300 Report on the Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Shandong
January in 1650 was really a lucky month for the Han and Tang groups.
In the middle of this January, Guo Huaiyi returned. During the entire operation, his fleet did not suffer major damage, and only two members of the operation were injured.
Sure enough, as the Hantang Group had predicted in advance, in the current time and space, they would be invincible. In this season when the north wind is howling, they successfully brought back four large plywood boats, more than 1,000 qualified workers, which can not but be said to be a miracle.
The mission was successful and successful. Although there was no time limit at the time, it was fast enough.
But at this time, Guo Huaiyi was a little dissatisfied in his heart, Chairman Wu Dapeng was busy going to Chiji Primary School to attend classes, ignoring him, and he was greeted by a person named Fan.
Could it be that the labor he brought back these four ships was not as important as those dolls?
However, the person from the Hantang Group was very polite.
In an office, he smiled and said to Guo Huaiyi: "My name is Paradigm, Captain Guo, please slowly introduce the whole story to me, every point you say may be important to us - I am the head of the intelligence department of the Hantang Group, come, please sit down, we have to talk for a long time, don't worry." What would you like to drink? Tea or 100 Years of Solitude? You also have something to drink on the boat, right? ”
"Yes. I want to drink the Liu family's—" Guo Huai replied angrily, and took the initiative to sit down in the chair.
As if he had been prepared, Fan turned around and opened a white porcelain bottle, slowly poured him a cup, poured a cup himself, and then handed it to Guo Huaiyi, and said: "Hantang Group is very satisfied with your work this time, and Chairman Wu Dapeng has repeatedly expressed that he wants to praise you——"
Fuck, Guo Huaiyi really showed a smile, grinned widely, and said: "My old Guo should do everything he should do, it's rare that Chairman Wu cares about me-ha, ha!" ”
The example raised his left eyebrow and said in his heart, fuck, people in any time and space have this complex-
"I'm just chatting with you for a while on behalf of Hantang Group - Chairman Wu Dapeng will personally meet you in the future and express my gratitude to you in person——"
"Ha, ha, this can't be helped, where does my old Guo need to remember Chairman Wu? - But this trip to Shandong, it's a long story, and many things are too miserable...... Can you remember? ”
The example casually glanced at the DV on the left, and now the red light is on, which indicates that it is working well.
Guo Huaiyi also saw it and said: "It's best to have that drop--I heard Lao He say that this thing is very magical, I'm afraid it can only be found in the big city of Antarctica-"
"Well, let's say, the finer the better, I can remember it myself—we're not in a hurry at all, you'll be staying at the Gerancha Hotel tonight......"
After seeing that his feelings were better, the example adjusted his sitting position on the chair and found the most comfortable position to sit in.
"Very well, then I'll say-"
Guo Huaiyi began to speak with great interest.
The land of Qilu in the Ming Continent is full of treasures and outstanding people, and it has been a famous minister, a famous general, and a sage since ancient times, but this land is deeply influenced by the Tao of Confucius and Mencius, the religion of loyalty, filial piety, righteousness, and honesty, but at the same time, it is the place with the largest number of peasant uprisings in the Ming Continent, which cannot but be said to be a huge and inexplicable irony.
This number is a fact no matter which point of view of nature or society is used to find the cause.
The reason why the Han and Tang groups are concerned about the situation in Shandong is very simple, if the historical data is not wrong, the territory of Shandong is still in a period of power vacuum, on the surface of Shandong is occupied by the Manchus, but in fact, the Manchu government only sent some officials to take office, and those officials are still mainly subordinates, at this time they simply can't draw troops and horses to protect the rights of the order to prohibit.
Any regime that does not have a military force as a guarantee is weak, and may not be ordered to leave the yamen.
Otherwise, the former Jiangxi Governor of the Military Affairs Department, Sun Zhiqi, who once proposed to "shave his hair and change his clothes and change customs", could only bring a very small number of officials to resist the peasant rebel army with wooden sticks after returning to his hometown...... He died a terrible death, his mouth was sewn shut, his finger-pointing limbs were split, even his shaved money rattail was plucked, and a pig's mane was planted on his bare scalp......
At that time, he was only dismissed by his master for corruption and other trivial matters, and after such a tragic death, he didn't even get a title...... From this point of view, it is only a matter of time before those who come up with evil ideas for the evil regime and those who speak for the evil forces generally do not die well and will definitely be liquidated.
Therefore, it can also be seen that during this period, it also happened to be the climax of peasant uprisings in various parts of Shandong - various civil forces emerged one after another, and even the Han and Tang cliques in Taiwan wanted to intervene at this time.
The deep-seated reason for this situation is that in addition to the natural factors of successive droughts and the unappointing troops in the hands of the Manchu Qing Dynasty, there are also two important factors, one is that there are a large number of White Lotus sect members here, and the other is that there are still remnants of Li Zicheng's peasant rebel army.
There is one person who must be mentioned. He is Xu Hongru, whose real name is Xu Yu, a native of Juye County, Shandong, and later moved to Yuncheng.
He participated in the White Lotus Sect in his early years. During the reign of Ming Qi (1621-1627), he launched and led the Caozhou peasant uprising, which opened the prelude to the peasant uprising at the end of the Ming Dynasty.
When Xu Hongru was young, he was in the last years of the Ming Dynasty, the society was dark, the government was corrupt, and at that time, the White Lotus Sect was secretly circulating among the people. The White Lotus Sect, also known as the "Smelling Fragrance Sect", established a secret religious center in the area of Zhizhuang in Luanzhou, Jingdong.
Luanzhou leather worker Wang Sen claimed to be the master of the "Smelling Fragrance Sect", and Xu Hongru was Wang Sen's disciple.
The White Lotus Cult spread throughout Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, and Sichuan provinces, and developed rapidly, and soon became one of the largest secret religious organizations in the country at that time.
In the twenty-fourth year of Wanli, Wang Sen was imprisoned for the betrayal of his disciples, and the secret religion was divided into two branches, one led by Xu Hongru and active in Shandong, and the other led by Wang Sen's son Wang Haoxian and his other disciple Yu Hongzhi, who operated in Kaiyi and Jingzhou in Hebei.
At the end of the Wanli Dynasty, land annexation became increasingly strict, taxes and forced labor increased, and social contradictions intensified.
He organized the masses with the teachings of the White Lotus Sect and gathered thousands of people. He was promoted as the head of the religion by the believers of Shandong, Nanbei Zhili, Henan, Shanxi and other provinces, and agreed to revolt in August 1622.
After Xu Hongru's uprising, he proclaimed himself Emperor Fulie of Zhongxing, changed the name of the year to the first year of Dacheng Xingsheng, divided a large number of official positions, established the initial system, and formulated a thorough battle plan.
The uprising failed in the end, and it lasted more than 190 days and covered half of Shandong Province. Tens of thousands of innocent people died in this uprising...... But in the materials of that world, it is said that it ignited the fire of the peasant struggle at the end of the Ming Dynasty and sounded the death knell of the Ming Dynasty - as if the Qing Dynasty was better......
Less than seven years later, the Li Zicheng uprising, which swept the country, broke out.
In addition to this uprising, another role is to leave countless hidden dangers, it can be said that a member of the church is a fire, once there is a power vacuum, someone will definitely jump out.
After the Han Tang Group studied the teachings of the White Lotus Sect, they scoffed at it, isn't that what it is? Everyone has seen more evil doctrines than it - everyone said that they had no pressure on the so-called cult organization, and everyone supported the plan to recruit workers there.
The second factor is also important. After Li Zicheng, the leader of the peasant rebel army, occupied Beijing, he sent many officials and troops to Shandong. When Li Zicheng was defeated at Shanhaiguan, he withdrew from Beijing and retreated to Xi'an. At this time, people all over Shandong began to fight to kill these puppet officials, and at the same time, the remnants of Li Zicheng, who still existed in Shandong, also insisted on rebelling against this work. The specific reasons will be explained later.
At the same time, economically, the Shandong region has been subjected to three large-scale destructions.
First of all, in the eleventh year of Chongzhen (1638 AD) and the fifteenth year of Chongzhen (1642 AD), the Qing army entered the customs twice and invaded Shandong.
Especially the second time the Qing army entered the customs, the Qing army invaded the Qingzhou and Laizhou areas all the way, burning and looting everywhere. When the Qing army entered the south, they did not carry grain and grass, but only relied on looting from all over the country to maintain supplies, looting everywhere they went, looting a large number of people and materials, and then setting fire to cities and houses.
There is no place in the village and town store, and there is no one who has not been burned, looted, and plundered, and the eyes are full of displacement, and it is unbearable to hear. In areas plundered by the Qing army, the socio-economic damage was even more severe.
Countless peasants who had been cornered by poverty joined the bandits, a career that they might only be able to do.
The second time was that Mao Wenlong's old department Kong Youde and others led his subordinates to launch a rebellion, captured Dengzhou Capital, and confronted the Ming army in Dengzhou and Laizhou areas until the sixth year of Chongzhen (1633 AD), Kong Youde fled Dengzhou from the sea, and the Dengzhou Incident ended.
This military rebellion lasted for nearly two years, affecting more than 10 counties in Dengzhou and Laizhou, attacking cities and plundering land, burning and looting, causing misery in Dengzhou and Laizhou areas.
It can be said that fortunately, the scope is a little smaller this time, and the subsequent influence is far less than the third time.
The third time was in the seventeenth year of Chongzhen, that is, in March 1644, since Li Zicheng invaded Beijing, he sent Guo Sheng to lead the army into Shandong to recover stolen goods from the gentry and wealthy households.
They took people who were willing to rebel with them, and they gathered crowds to smash all kinds of big households and scrape up the land of big families...... The Dashun army robbed the big families of gold and silver treasures, silk and cotton cloth, large livestock, all kinds of grain, and beautiful women...... The peasants who followed the rebellion, regardless of whether they believed in religion or not, followed by all kinds of furniture, or took away doors and windows...... Even the trees in the yard were cut down and taken home, and even worse, the wives and daughters of the servants of the big families or their subordinates were snatched away...... This kind of thing soon spread in Shandong, and many places really did not use the Dashun army to personally command...... Just start grabbing.
Obviously, the policy of the Dashun Army was to lure the poor peasants and others to loot the local households, and to muddy the waters of Shandong even more, so that the world would be in chaos.
But the ensuing series of atrocities also provoked a strong local revolt, and no one wanted to wait for death like a fool...... After robbing the big households, they are naturally the middle households, and some of the squires closely united and organized their own people, and the two sides were happy for a while.
When Li Zicheng retreated to Beijing, the fate of the officials he originally left behind can be imagined.
However, it is precisely because Shandong is a pool of muddy water at this time, and the rest of Dashun is of course like a fish in water...... Bad people must force others to be bad people as well, so that they can be accommodated.
Is this the reason why Shandong has been ringing since ancient times, or is it a table?
The security department of the Hantang Group does not do those painful social science researches, and they have been making military preparations for this operation.
When Guo Huaiyi's four large plywood boats were suspended in Keelung, the security department sent 44 Ming security team members on board.
