Chapter 152: The Chinese Navy Moving Forward Hard(Asking for Subscriptions, Monthly Tickets, and Various!! )

In fact, what Li Yunchang and others did not know was that because the 61 st Army's capture of Tianjin was too sudden, a large number of large ships that had just docked had not had time to make a move, and all of them became prisoners of the cavalry group, and three of them were 10,000-ton cargo ships that had just come from Shanghai, and they were loaded with weapons and equipment, and they were full of several tens of thousands of tons in terms of weight. In addition, the warehouses on the coast of Tianjin are full of all kinds of weapons and equipment, and there are more than a dozen large warehouses.

Chen Feng was really happy when he first received the report from the cavalry group, but after seeing these ships of weapons and equipment, Chen Feng's joy disappeared completely, because in addition to the things in those warehouses that were not bad, the remaining ships were not loaded with the standard equipment of the Japanese army, but the weapons and equipment of the prisoners of the Nationalist Government who had been collected from the southern battlefield.

Grandma's, the three 10,000-ton super freighters are all loaded with tatters that have been eliminated, and there are no less than ten models of rifles alone, what German old Mauser, old Maozi's water Lianzhu, British's Type 77 rifles, and even domestic Hanyang-made, old sleeves, and Zhongzheng, it is simply an international weapons and equipment expo, of course, this exposition should be prefixed in front of it - antique.

Don't say that it is compared with the AK assault rifle that the 61st Army is about to mass-produce, even if it is worse than the Mauser K98 that the 61st Army is currently equipped with, it is not half a star, so Chen Feng can't look at it at all, even if he pulls it back, it is useless. In addition to occupying the treasury, it is to occupy the treasury, so Chen Feng decided to give it to the Eighth Route Army, which can be regarded as a favor.

For Chen Feng, it is just a favor, but for the Eighth Route Army, this is a relief in the snow. It's another winter, and this winter is the hardest, and every winter the troops will cause a large number of non-combat attrition due to insufficient material reserves. This year's winter is even more so; some time ago, Li Yunchang returned to Yan'an for a meeting, at which the leaders had a headache over the supplies for the troops to spend the winter, and now the supplies for the troops for the winter have basically been exhausted, but only two-thirds of the entire winter has passed. At least one and a half months of cold season. Even the always optimistic chairman frowned and said that this year is sad!

The New Fourth Army is okay, after all, the winter in southern Anhui is not very cold, and the soldiers have passed the cash. However, the Eighth Route Army was located on the Shanxi Plateau, and the temperature in winter sometimes reached more than minus 40 degrees. And even in such harsh natural conditions. Many soldiers of the Eighth Route Army still wore straw sandals. This cold winter wax moon will really freeze to death. Even if you don't freeze to death, you will be left with all kinds of diseases, such as chilblains, rheumatoid arthritis, and so on. With this batch of supplies, the troops can die many fewer people. No wonder Li Yunchang and others are so excited.

In order not to arouse misunderstanding and suspicion among the Nationalist Government and deepen the contradictions between them, Chen Feng demanded that all the people sent by the Chinese Communists to Tianjin wear the standard military uniforms of the 61st Army. At the same time, let the 9th Cavalry Regiment assist them in their actions.

Soon after seeing off Li Yunchang and the others, Ma Cao hurriedly came in and reported that he had just received a telegram from the Ministry of Military Affairs of the Nationalist Government saying that a team of 150 naval soldiers led by Admiral Chen Shaokuan, commander of the Navy, had boarded a plane and taken off in Wuhan and was flying to Tianjin under the escort of the 4th Air Force Destroyer Group.

Chen Feng did not expect that the Nationalist Government would attach so much importance to these warships that it would send Chen Shaokuan, the commander of the Navy. If you want to say that the Nationalist Government knows the navy the most and is determined to build China's coastal defense, it is none other than this Admiral Chen Shaokuan and Chen Shaokuan, and the rest are not worth mentioning.

Chen Shaokuan did not have much fame in the army circles, and he was far from Li Zongren, Bai Chongxi, Yan Xishan, Chen Cheng, Xue Yue, and Zhu De at the same time, but he was second to none in the navy circles. Chen Shaokuan, whose name is Houfu, was born in 1889 in Yunlei Township, Minhou County, Fujian, and his ancestors took handicraft as their business. His father, Chen Yili, was originally a naval sailor, and was later promoted to sergeant.

In 1905, he was admitted to the Nanyang Naval Academy, where he studied hard and practiced hard, and when he graduated, he had a wealth of navigation knowledge and mastered considerable navigation skills. Soon after he arrived at the ship, he returned home due to the funeral of his mother, and took the "Jingqing" ship (at that time as the first mate of the ship) by Shanghai Hang Rong, the captain Yang did not board the ship, and asked Chen to take the main ship. According to naval practice, if a ship has not entered or left a port for three years, it may ask a pilot to lead the ship when it enters the port. The "Jingqing" has not arrived at Fuzhou Port for many years, and the terrain of the waterway from the mouth of the Minjiang River to Mawei is complicated. But Chen drove it himself and drove safely to Mawei. A captain officer who led a ship into the harbor for the first time did not invite anyone to lead the ship and arrived at the destination safely, which caused a sensation in the naval circles of that year.

In December 1915, Chen Qimei, a member of the Southern Revolutionary, designed to seize the Beiyang warship in Shanghai, and sent Yang Hu, Sun Xiangfu, and others to join forces with Wang Mouli, the chief gunner of the "Zhaohe" ship, to forcibly seize the "Zhaohe" warship stationed at Gaochang Temple. Upon hearing the news, Commander Du Chen Shaokuan rushed to the flag stand and ordered the "Haichen" and "Yingrui" ships in Hong Kong to open fire and order the "sampans to go out of the army" and recapture the "Zhaohe" warship. After the incident, Liu Guanxiong, minister of the Beiyang Navy, was punished for negligence and dereliction of duty by Li Dingxin, commander-in-chief of the Beiyang Navy, and Xu Zhenpeng, commander of the training fleet; Huang Mingqiu, captain of the "Zhaohe," was dismissed from his post and imprisoned, and Chen Shaokuan was promoted from adjutant to acting captain of the "Zhaohe."

In 1918, when the First World War entered the decisive stage, Chen Shaokuan, as a military attache of the British Embassy in Britain, participated in the famous Battle of Grolin with British Admiral Commander Jalico at the flagship of the British Navy. After the war, he was awarded the European War Medal by the Queen of England. After the end of the war, Chen returned to China as the captain of the "Tongji", and later rose to the command of the Second Fleet, and also served as the chief of staff of Du Xiqi (commander-in-chief of the navy). In the era of the Beiyang government, it can be regarded as a straight rise.

In 1927, Chen Shaokuan led the Second Fleet to join the National Revolutionary Army, and intercepted the Beiyang warlord Sun Chuanfang's troops crossing the river at Longtan, smashing Sun's plan to counterattack Nanjing, so that the Nationalist Government quickly established the capital of Nanjing. Then he participated in the first western expedition, led the ship to attack Tang Shengzhi, occupied Yuezhou, and laid the foundation for Hunan. In 1929, he led the Second Fleet to participate in the Second Western Expedition and attacked Li Zongren. As a result of his exploits, Chen became Commander of the Second Fleet, Acting Parliamentary Secretary of the Admiralty, and then Minister of the Navy.

In 1932, he was promoted to Admiral of the Navy and became a member of the National Defense Committee of the Nationalist Government and a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Kuomintang. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China, because of the establishment of the "Naval University" and the hiring of Japanese naval experts to teach "Advanced Military Science" and "International Law of the Sea" respectively, 23 captains including Lin Yuanquan, captain of the "Ying Rui", were dissatisfied and jointly accused Chen Shaokuan of being "pro-Japanese". Chen Shaokuan was "investigated and punished" and resigned in anger. After that, Wang Jingwei went to Shanghai several times to "comfort him". Lin Yuanquan and others were respectively "transferred" and dealt with, and Chen Shaokuan returned to the ministry to take care of things.

In April 1937, Chen Shaokuan was the deputy head of the delegation of the Nationalist Government, went to the United Kingdom to attend the coronation of King George VI of the United Kingdom, and later transferred to Germany to inspect the navy. On July 7 of the same year, when China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Chen Shaokuan returned to China to organize the "Jiangyin Blocking Line" to close the waterways of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and defend China's rear.

It can be said that Chen Shaokuan was born in the navy and grew up in the navy, and the first half of his life was all dedicated to the navy.

Originally, the Nationalist Government did not plan to let such an important official as Chen Shaokuan go to Tianjin to receive the warships, but when the Nationalist army learned that the troops of the Nationalist Army had captured three Japanese ironclad ships and a large number of transport ships in Tianjin, he was greatly surprised, and immediately applied to the Military Commission to personally receive the warships.

The old man refused Chen Shaokuan's request for his safety, but overnight Chen Shaokuan sent three telegrams from Chongqing to Wuhan Xingying requesting to go north, and in desperation, the old man had no choice but to agree to let Chen Shaokuan be the person in charge of receiving the Japanese ships this time.

In fact, Chen Shaokuan had his own hardships and had to come. Although he is now the supreme commander of the navy, the navy's family is about to go bankrupt, and if there are no ships to replenish it, the Chinese navy will really become an empty shell. Since the Xinhai Revolution, in addition to receiving the inheritance of the Qing court, the navy did not build a new type of ship in the entire 16 years from 1912 to 1928, and by 1928, when the Nationalist government nominally unified the country, the total tonnage of Chinese naval ships was only more than 30,000 tons, which was less than the tonnage of a large foreign combat ship.

The total tonnage of a country's navy was only 30,000 tons, and it is really a shame to say that it was a displacement, because the displacement of a Fuso-class battleship of the Japanese army at that time reached more than 30,000 tons, which means that the tonnage of all the ships of the navy of the Nationalist Government at that time was not as good as that of a large Japanese warship.

In view of this, after Chen Shaokuan's first expedition to the west, he used all the intercepted 500,000 silver dollars of the Hunan Xinxun tariff to build ships. He first ordered the 500-ton "Xianning" gunboat from the Jiangnan Shipyard, which was the first gunboat to be built since the Republic of China. Soon after the establishment of the Navy Department, Chen Shaokuan proposed to the Nationalist Government a 600,000-ton shipbuilding plan, citing Dr. Sun Yat-sen's long-term plan for building a seaport and military port in the strategy for the founding of the country, and proposed to take Japan as an imaginary enemy and petition the Nationalist Government to raise more than 2 billion yuan within 15 years for the construction of the navy.

After the plan was sent, it sank into the sea like a stone, and there was no news. At that time, the treasury of the Nationalist Government was empty, the main taxes, customs duties, and salt taxes had been mortgaged to the imperialist countries, and the actual fiscal revenue was pitiful.
