Kandahar, Afghanistan's second-largest city, was conquered by the Taliban, an obscure "mujahideen" group, and in order to counter the pro-Soviet government forces, the originally scattered mujahideen formed a loose coalition of seven relatively large mujahideen groups. However, no organization has the ability to conquer such a big city as Kandahar, and most of them adhere to the strategy of "encircling the city from the countryside" and operate in remote mountainous areas, except for a few jihadists with relatively strong strength, they are basically guerrillas and have no regular army.

The Taliban leader named Omar had a 3,000-strong, well-armed regular army, and within a month of the Soviets' withdrawal of troops, the Soviets had loosened their grip on the area, and a large number of Soviet troops had withdrawn.

Through the battle of Kandahar, Omar rose to prominence, and then he summoned reporters in Kandahar and held a press conference in a similar way: "...... The disdain and efforts of the Afghan people are about to succeed, the Soviets have gradually withdrawn from our homeland, and Najibullah, the lackey of the Soviets, awaits his fate in a hurry. There is still one mile left in our jihad, please lend me your strength and sound the **** horn to the enemy for the freedom and independence of Afghanistan, under the instructions and blessings of Allah! ”

In the past, the mujahideen were not as international as Omar, they basically hid in the ravines and fought stupidly, not knowing how to use international public opinion, let alone image propaganda. But Omar, who is actually a spy for the Red Police, understands these things, and in addition to international propaganda, he also engages in domestic propaganda.

After the Taliban occupied Kandahar, Omar personally visited influential local tribal chiefs and civilian imams and mullahs to show respect for them and hope to gain their support. He also sent men to villages and cities to distribute food and other necessities, and to spread his ideas along the way.

"Muslims under the light of Allah should unite and fight the real enemy to the end. The Taliban will bring peace and tranquility to Afghanistan, believers will be able to enjoy a happy life as Allah permits, and if the Taliban take power, the first thing they will do is to restore order and economy in Afghanistan, so that believers will no longer starve and fear! ”

In fact, Omar did not wait for him to overthrow the Najibullah government to begin to implement his so-called governance philosophy, on the third day of the occupation of Kandahar, the Taliban army began to arrest lawless elements in the city, those who robbed civilian property, **** women, illegal detention and even poppy cultivation in wartime were arrested, Omar gathered the whole city of people, and he personally imprisoned them.

"These people are filthy and disgraceful, and the wrath of Allah will come upon them today. It is time for them to pay the price for oppressing our brothers and sisters and blaspheming the true meaning of the Qur'an in the past, and I, Omar, promise that under the wing of the Taliban, justice will be upheld and goodness will be protected! The incendiary speech drew cheers from the people of the city, who, after a decade of war and turmoil, wanted to see a strong actor who took on the responsibilities of a political strongman and restore order and prosperity to the city.

"Execution!" Umar shouted, and then there was a burst of chanting "Allah is greatest" below. Influential mullahs had suggested that Omar use religious penal laws such as stoning to kill those who committed crimes, but Omar refused their request. If Omar was really the Taliban he claimed to be (Taliban literally means Bachelor of God), he would definitely not hesitate to do so, but in fact Omar is a Red Alert spy, and his master Qi Yiming is most worried about the expansion of religious extremism, so he can use the name of God, but he must not do all the tricks.

Hundreds of convicted people were shot by Taliban militants, and the cheers reached their climax.

Subsequently, the Taliban promulgated their own laws in Kandahar, many of which were derived from religious law, but were largely secular, and relatively simple because of the conditions. Strictly speaking, sentencing is very unscientific, and some of them seem to be stricter, but in troubled times, heavy punishments are used, so during the month that the Taliban ruled Kandahar, the city miraculously glowed with a different light.

The success of the Taliban in Kandahar has led many people in southwestern Afghanistan to join the Taliban, and Omar's ranks have continued to grow. However, his core team is still from the Red Guard fighters of the No. 4 sub-base, during which Omar organized his Red Police fighters into two brigades, each with more than 3,000 people, unified into the Holy Guard, and the other ordinary recruited guerrillas are ordinary Taliban armed forces.

After Omar formed his own Taliban armed forces, he did not blindly provoke the Soviets, because he and Qi Yiming both knew that the Soviets would withdraw sooner or later, and they could no longer care about Afghanistan, their real enemies were government forces, and even those other mujahideen could be future competitors.

The Holy Guard, under the command of Omar, drove government forces all the way from the south, and the two sides clashed violently on the outskirts of the city of Qlat, north of Kandahar. Thanks to Soviet support and assistance, government forces were equipped with a certain amount of armored vehicles and tanks, while the Taliban basically lacked heavy weapons except for a small number of "captured armored vehicles".

Imam Luhatullah, wearing a little white hat and braving the hail of bullets, stood on the front line, holding a copy of the Qur'an, protected by two warriors, and the imam shouted: "O warriors of Allah, your enemies are at hand, blaspheming the holy and pure source of all evil, the devil who has brought sin and war to our land, your battle is just, Allah, the all-knowing and eternal, is watching you, your lives are protected at this moment, the gates of Paradise have been opened, and infinite happiness and comfort are in heaven, You will have endless good deeds, and you will have seventy-two **** to serve......"

Luhatullah was a real imam, and even had close ties with the government army not long ago, but when Omar came to power in Kandahar, he immediately became a staunch supporter of the Taliban. Not only that, but Omar also has a permanent imam in his army, and he wants to give the Taliban holy warriors a bonus before the war.

This is basically the realistic version of the bloodthirsty and blessed aura, the Taliban troops with strict discipline and faith in Allah, even if they are not Red Police fighters, and even many of them are guerrillas or even rookie recruits who came over later, but at this moment they all look like tigers descending the mountain.

The Taliban army has enough anti-armor weapons, but they also need to rush up and shoot, and the Taliban fighters who are not afraid of life and death bravely charge will also give the enemy a huge panic. Except for the Holy Guard, which is basically steady and steady, building fireteams, and then intelligently attacking the enemy through different maneuvers and interspersed methods, the other Taliban recruited troops are typical "pig burst tactics", rushing to within a few dozen meters of the enemy, raising their weapons to shoot at the opponent, and even some people rushed over their heads and rushed directly into the enemy position.

Some of the Taliban **** who were affected by multiple halos removed their bazookas from their shoulders and fired at the nearest government armored vehicles that could not react at all; Some directly stabbed the government troops with bayonets whose morale had plummeted; There are even those who rush under the tank with grenade packs of explosives when they are completely unnecessary, and destroy the enemy with suicide attacks.

It can be said that the mujahideen who used to deal with government forces were crazy enough, but these militants of the Taliban can no longer be described as crazy.

The battle was shorter than expected, and most of the government forces could not withstand the pressure and collapsed and surrendered, but Omar's army was once again victorious and stabilized the situation in the south.

The success of the Taliban has also been noticed by some foreign powers, and it is clear that compared to Omar and the Taliban, other mujahideen and resistance groups are like mud legs, without the slightest "imperial spirit". In addition, many of the mujahideen are Arabs from abroad, and it is impossible to let them control Afghanistan in the future, plus many of them are very extreme and not very likable.

Omar is different, at least he seems to be very executive, he does not show any obvious xenophobia, and he is also very international, which makes it easier for Westerners to understand. Therefore, after the battle of Kalat, intelligence officers from many countries crossed the border from Pakistan to Kandahar, hoping to meet Omar and establish friendly relations, and some even expressed their support and agreed to provide some assistance or something.

Omar expressed his gratitude to the countries that have helped the Afghans in their fight against aggression, but at the same time solemnly stated that he will not do anything to betray the interests of the Afghan country and people, let alone be a puppet or lackey of any country, and he wants to build a free and independent Afghanistan.

This statement naturally did not appeal to many countries, but it made many ordinary people feel good, and some media reporters believed that Omar could become a liberator like Castro and Guevara. There are also pessimists who point out that if Omar succeeds in overthrowing the government, Afghanistan is likely to establish a dictatorship in the future, following Omar's line of government.

In the past, several governments in Afghanistan did not seem to be dictatorships, and really smart people will know that dictatorships can at least bring stability to the region and drive out war. That is, of course, not a troublesome dictator like Muammar Gaddafi or Saddam.
