85. Meetings
I've been on a mission for the past few days, and I've been in the field, so I haven't had much rest at all, so as soon as the conversation was over, I collapsed in bed and fell asleep. However, a burst of gunfire pulled me back from my sleep to real life.
I quickly got up from the bed, and then quickly equipped the assault rifle, I have been doing tasks to fight against NPCs recently, and my body has developed inertia, and I will unconsciously equip weapons whenever there is any movement.
I cautiously walked down the hallway and met three other teammates who came out at the same time.
"Yo, long time no see, if you can, I'd like to meet peacefully." Uncle said with a wry smile.
"Welcome back, let's wait a little longer to chat, I'm a little worried about my partner." The giraffe said a little worriedly.
After a brief interview, the uncle and the giraffe ran to the first floor of the base to support the zebras who were keeping vigil; Meow Meow ran to the rooftop to secure the Gatling gun; I found a nearby window for fire support.
Judging by the frequency of enemy fire and the sound of gunfire, the number of enemies should be smaller than ours, but it should not be taken lightly. I shot at the place where the muzzle flame was coming from in the night, whether I hit it or not. After a while, the rooftop meow fan moved the Gatling, sweeping through all the gunfire and muzzle flames.
Under heavy fire, there was no more gunfire outside the base.
We gathered on the rooftop again to keep watch, and only when the sky began to light and we confirmed that there was no sign of any enemy, did we begin to relax and chat.
Meow Meow and I repeated the previous experience with the three teammates, especially the mission that I accepted at the end to get a new stronghold.
After listening to our description, both the uncle and the giraffe had thoughtful expressions, and the zebra, who had endured a full night's vigil for the second time, looked tired.
"In the period since you left, the base we are in has been attacked by the enemy almost every day, but correspondingly, the other stronghold where the three mercenary NPCs we hired has not been attacked." Uncle paused, "However, the stronghold they are in turned out to be the enemy's base, and according to common sense, the enemy should attack there, not just our base in an abandoned town. ”
"Go on, what's the conclusion?" Meow Meow urged the uncle to continue.
"Could it be that these attacks will only be directed at us players?"
