Chapter 835: The Bottomless Pit of Resources

PS: Thank you for the book friend "Wangyun Mountain People" for your reward ^_^ again

In addition to the development of economy and science and technology, China's international influence has also been greatly enhanced in the past 10 years, but as Taizu once again and completely left the center of power, China's foreign policy is much more realistic than before, focusing more on seeking benefits for China, and not caring about competing with other countries, and the reason is also very simple, China is already the world's largest power, and the leading edge is still expanding, so it is enough to maintain the status quo, there is no need and should not risk changing.

Strictly speaking, in the past 10 years, there has been a major event that has affected the world internationally, that is, Kerim was assassinated in 1972. Because the Arab Federation was originally condensed by Klim's unparalleled personal prestige, the existence of this new country was too short, and the imbalance in the economic development of the East and the West and the legacy of the original iron-fisted suppression of the rebels have not been completely eliminated, resulting in internal contradictions, and Krim's intended successor is far from having the same talent and prestige as him. Thus, Kerim's sudden death immediately triggered civil strife in the Arab Federation. The two or three million Jews who had been crushed to death in the Arab Commonwealth also took the opportunity to rebel, making the Arab Federation even more chaotic.

Eventually, the North African part of the Argentine federation split into the North African federation (Kerim's efforts were not entirely in vain, at least the Berber nation-state was formed). and Egypt, and the West Asian part of West Asia split up into a dozen smaller states after a three-year civil war, including the Jewish state of Israel

Immediately after independence, Israel received the full support of the United States. The Soviet Union, on the other hand, supported the small Arab states-for-tat, and China, on the other hand, only sent troops to stabilize the Persian Gulf coast, which has the richest oil reserves, and had no interest in intervening in disputes on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean.

The U.S. government naturally does not want China to control the oil in the Persian Gulf from now on, but after being frightened by China, they have lost the courage to threaten the Chinese government with nuclear war, as for conventional warfare, China now has 6 nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, although it is not as good as the 12 of the United States, but the United States needs to use aircraft carriers too much. Only in terms of the naval and air forces that can be used. In fact, there is not much advantage, and this does not include the Japanese Navy, which is not weak (Note 1).

In particular, it is worth mentioning that the performance of the new fighter J-5 (that is, the Su-27) designed by Sukhoi and its carrier-based version has an overwhelming advantage over the active fighters of the US military at this time. Today, however, avionics is at least 10 years ahead of the United States. That's just too much of an advantage.

What's more, the J-5 has made some improvements compared with the historical Su-27 prototype. Not to mention the U.S. Air Force F-15, even the U.S. Navy's F-14, which has excellent performance but an exaggerated price, is by no means an opponent of the J-5. And the combat effectiveness of an aircraft carrier must ultimately be reflected by carrier-based aircraft. When the performance gap between carrier-based aircraft is too large, the US aircraft carriers, although they have a large number, do not dare to easily compete with the Chinese Navy.

And now that governments around the world have known about China's backlash, they don't care about anything else, but whoever dares to threaten China's resource imports will definitely not have any good fruit to eat. With the scale of China's shipbuilding industry, which is the largest in the world at present, and its shipbuilding technology, which is not much weaker than that of the United States, the United States may not be able to fight hard if it really wants to explode an aircraft carrier. It is precisely with these problems in mind that the US government has once again shrunk its eggs, and countries around the world have increasingly seen clearly the US government's foreign power and middle strength, and have consciously and voluntarily moved closer to China, especially those resource-exporting countries.

However, this also has a lot to do with the fact that the Chinese government never bullies small countries with its strong national strength and military strength, and in addition, the cheap and high-quality Chinese goods, especially weapons and equipment, are also favored by third world countries. What's more, China is generally a resource-poor country, while the United States is extremely rich in various resources, so it is easier to raise the price when selling to China.

In fact, as China has been importing more and more resources in recent years, the price of resources in the international market has begun to rise continuously, and many third-world countries whose economies rely on the sale of resources have thus reaped great benefits, and even many developed countries have increased the development of domestic resources under the inducement of interests, and the rapid development of China's economy has also led to unprecedented prosperity in the world in this way. But China's rapidly growing demand for resources has also caused unease among many foreign governments, commentators and environmentalists, with some even calling China a "bottomless pit of resources."

The rapid increase in resource prices has undoubtedly increased the production costs of Chinese enterprises and affected the improvement of the living standards of the Chinese people, but the whole world, including many developed countries, has unwittingly become China's resource supplier and industrial product sales market. And China's economic system in this time and space is much more complete than in history, so there is a "China can do without the world, and the world cannot do without China." In this case, China naturally gradually got the pricing power of the world market from the West, and the living standards of the domestic people began to improve rapidly, but this is a later story, and the people of all countries at this time are still satisfied with taking out money from their increasingly bulging wallets to consume cheap and high-quality "Made in China"

Although both were indirectly involved in the first Middle East war, China did not invest as much as the United States and the Soviet Union, so the cost was much lower. More importantly, this local war and the subsequent chaos in the Middle East have succeeded in drawing the energies of the two superpowers and buying China at least 10 years of peaceful development. Although the Chinese government and people are not afraid of war, it is always a good thing to be able to develop the economy in a peaceful environment, widen the gap between the total industrial output of the United States, and improve the living standards of the people at home, who are not yet rich.

Note 1: After the war, the size of Japan's army and air force was strictly limited, so the navy's military expenditure was very sufficient, and the total tonnage of the Chinese navy was always more than half of that of the Chinese navy during the same period, and at most it reached 80% of the total tonnage of the Chinese navy. Although the U.S. Navy is strong, it has to confront the Soviet Union's Red Navy in Europe, and in Asia, it has to face the Japanese Navy, which is rapidly recovering its strength as the economy takes off, and the mobile forces that can be freed up are seriously insufficient, so that the Chinese Navy has the opportunity to fish in troubled waters (to be continued......
