The Americans were very careful not to expect that the Chinese would be so bad, in fact, in the final analysis, the United States and NATO are not ready for a direct war with China, holding the luck mentality that once the war breaks out, the Chinese will stand by and watch. And after touching the Chinese fighters in the sky, because the Chinese fighters did not fire first, the United States and NATO also became tied and did not want to take the initiative to attack the Chinese fighters. However, the fact that the Chinese fighters did not attack did not mean that their actions were good-intentioned, and the containment of NATO air strike planes in this narrow airspace directly facilitated the Yugoslav Air Force, under the guidance of China's friendly forces, to fly into the air to encircle and kill this group of stunned NATO fighters.

The Yug-5 Sparrowhawk, which carried a number of air-to-air missiles, launched a number of PL-11B active medium-range interception projectiles before it entered the line of sight. This kind of interceptor missile is actually similar to the AIM-7 Sparrow missile equipped with an active seeker, and its performance is still inferior to China's main PL-12 series, and it is not a type of ammunition used by the Chinese Air Force. However, Yugoslavia introduced the production line of this missile at a low price and equipped it with its own Sparrow Eagle fighters, which can be regarded as achieving a relatively high level of localization.

These missiles gave the US military a great challenge, and none of the four Raptors were hit by missiles, but the ghost bomber was unlucky enough to be hit by one of the PL-11B missiles, although it was not directly shot down, but the flight performance has been seriously affected, and there are also problems with the control of the magazine, and it is no longer possible to continue the strike mission.

The air battle was the first after the outbreak of the Kosovo War, with four Birds of Prey against nine Yug-5 Sparrowhawks. Although the Yug-5 is a generation behind the Raptor and is also a medium-sized fighter, it cannot be compared with the Raptor but it really stands up empty, counting the numerical advantage, the F-22 is surrounded by several pine sparrowhawks.

Downey's F-22 shot down a Sparrow Hawk and his wingman shot down one, but one of his teammates was soon shot down by a Yugoslav fighter jet. In such a situation, his command gave orders for them to evacuate to avoid further casualties.

The first battle of the Raptor ended in this way, although two planes were downed, but one of its own side was also shot down, which was inconsistent with the previous high expectations placed on it by the US Air Force.

In other airspace, fierce air and air defense operations are also being staged. The United States dispatched electronic warfare planes in the hope of seizing electromagnetic supremacy, but not only did they fight the Yugoslavs again, China's PLA immediately adopted its own superior electromagnetic counter-warfare, but instead interfered with the command and communication system of the US military. The failure to seize the power of electromagnetic supremacy enabled the Yugoslav Air Force, which was not weak, to operate its command and communication system with ease, and the Yugoslav Air Force's counterattack was clearly organized and of considerable intensity.

In particular, the NATO allies did not consider that the Yugoslav Air Force's counterattack would be so strong at the beginning, and the first wave of attacking aircraft included eight F-117 stealth attack aircraft, but these attack aircraft were detected by China's anti-stealth radar early on and notified the Yugoslav Air Force of their location.

After entanglement with several F-16s and Tornado fighters from NATO countries, several Yug-5s of the Yugoslav Air Force grabbed the attack position and quickly shot them down. By the time fighter jets from other NATO allies arrived, the Yugoslav Air Force had already shot down three F-117s.

Although the Sparrow Eagle interceptor plane was driven away, the SAM-2 missiles of the South Air Force on the ground and the Chinese Dikaishan-1A missiles also launched an offensive against the F-117 attack planes and NATO F-16 fighters that had already exposed their positions.

Two F-117s were shot down, an FC-1 Thunder from Portugal and an F-16 from Denmark. Of course, soon this air defense position was locked by the US military and a strong sweep was carried out, and an entire missile launching battalion was wiped out by the US military, and at the same time, the Yugoslav Air Force also lost as many as four Sparrow Eagle fighters.

You must know that NATO's allies have assembled 1,069 military aircraft to attack Yugoslavia, including 730 fighters, while only counting the military aircraft of the Yugoslav Air Force, there are less than 400, and only 82 of them are Yug-5 Sparrow Eagle fighters, and most of the others are self-produced light attack aircraft/trainer aircraft. NATO's allies lost fighter planes and were able to replenish them quickly, but the Yugoslav Air Force was shot down with one less plane, and its sustained combat capability was insufficient.

In addition, the US military launched an equally rapid attack from the sea, with cruise missiles launched by various types of ships and carrier-based aircraft taking off from aircraft carriers all launching attacks on Yugoslavia from the direction of the Adriatic Sea. However, in this position, the naval fleet of the Chinese garrison in the south held up a protective umbrella for Yugoslavia.

Cruise missiles are already a huge threat to the fleet, and the Chinese fleet does not care who the targets of these cruise missiles are, and the Aegis systems of several Aegis ships are operating at full capacity, and they have successively used anti-aircraft missiles to intercept the Tomahawk cruise missiles launched by the US military. In particular, the missiles whose flight trajectory was relatively close to theirs were not spared. In this wave of attacks, the United States launched more than 60 Tomahawks within two hours, and only four Tomahawk missiles were deliberately leaked by the Chinese Navy, and the rest of the missiles were all intercepted by the four Aegis ships of the Chinese Navy, demonstrating to the world China's Aegis Aegis's unparalleled ability to resist saturation attacks.

This is also the first time since the advent of the Aegis warship that it has defended against such a large-scale missile attack in actual combat, which has greatly excited many military experts. At the same time, the outside world also has a deep understanding of the Chinese Navy's powerful anti-saturation attack capability, obviously just four Aegis ships, China can achieve an almost impregnable defense, and China's Aegis ships have more than 100, what kind of combat power can be provided, do not ask.

The route of the US aircraft carrier's aircraft taking off to attack Yugoslavia was also not smooth, and the F-14CN fighters that took off from the Chinese aircraft carrier Jilin intercepted and entangled the US and French carrier-based planes in the airspace of the Adriatic Sea. At present, NATO's allies have the aircraft carriers Kennedy, Eisenhower, and Foch in place, and the carrier-based aircraft sent are mainly F-14, F-18, A-11, and Super Flags. There was no full sortie in this wave of attacks, only more than 40 warplanes attacked, and the Chinese fleet also dispatched a similar number of red Tomcats to intercept and expel them.

Like the Black Hawk and the Raptor before, China's aircraft carrier aircraft also did not take the initiative to attack NATO military aircraft, but the two sides broke out a relatively fierce contest at sea, although they did not open fire, but it was no less than real guns and live ammunition, especially the Super Flag, A-11 and other attack planes were very dangerous in such a situation, and the NATO command had to withdraw them.

NATO military planes want to break through the blocking network of Chinese fighters and rush inland, but the Chinese fighters have excellent patience, and they will follow you and carry out dangerous flight maneuvers against you at the slightest sign of wanting to break through, which has made many US and French pilots frightened.

The US pilots, who had held back their grievances, repeatedly asked the command to open fire on the Chinese fighters, but the NATO command still did not dare to open this mouth, and now the two sides can still maintain a certain tacit understanding to play this dangerous game, but once the two sides really start fighting with open fire, it is still unknown what kind of situation the world will take.

In such a headless contest, NATO's navy achieved only a few targets hit by cruise missiles on the first day of the attack, and other carrier-based planes were stubbornly blocked from land and did not complete an effective strike. Even after tossing for more than an hour, the US military took the initiative to withdraw all the carrier-based planes and no longer engage in this senseless air fight.

Although the Yugoslav air force did not have much power to stop the air strikes of NATO's allies, the Chinese air force and navy provided great cover for the Yugoslav side. On that day, at least 130 Chinese warplanes took off to help the Yugoslav People's Army resist NATO's allies in various indirect ways of war.

Under the circumstance that NATO's allies did not dare to take the initiative to attack Chinese fighters, the main energy of NATO fighters was wasted in "playing" with Chinese fighters in the air, and even military planes with attack planes, bombers, and other military planes with major strike missions were closely watched by Chinese fighters, and there was no chance to launch an attack at all.

Therefore, in the first day of air raids, NATO only knocked out more than 20 military targets in Yugoslavia, and the strike effect was not good, for example, a military camp of the Yugoslav People's Army was only hit by a gem road, which only caused some material damage, and did not even cause casualties. To be sure, compared with the Gulf War of that year, Yugoslavia was not unacceptably hit by air raids on the first day of the Kosovo War.

However, Yugoslavia lost eight Yug-5 fighters, 15 anti-aircraft missile launchers and two radar stations on the first day. NATO's losses were somewhat greater than Yugoslavia's, and even lost a $1.1 billion B-2 Ghost bomber and a $200 million F-22 fighter that day. However, in terms of proportion, NATO's losses are far from painful.

Even so, NATO is as uncomfortable as eating a fly, because China is constantly incurring on the battlefield without restraint, and NATO has some scruples about this, which makes NATO suffer a lot of losses. If we cannot solve the problem of China's troops stationed in Yugoslavia, which are constantly making their presence felt, NATO will not be able to fight this war.

As a result, NATO's North Atlantic Council held an emergency meeting that evening to discuss whether to carry out joint strikes against China's troops in Yugoslavia in the future. At the same time, more Chinese warplanes and ships rushed to Yugoslavia, and negotiations on a defense alliance between China and Yugoslavia were accelerating.
