Chapter 140: Rules

Chapter 140: Rules

The preparation time of these two days really makes people feel that the mountain rain is about to come and the wind is full of buildings.

Soldiers who have fought ...... I will arrange what I should bring and what I shouldn't bring for my own energy.

This kind of preparation seems simple, but in fact, there is a lot of knowledge in it. For example, if the battle to be fought requires a rapid march, then the weight should be as small as possible, and if the battle is to be interspersed, then as much ammunition as possible...... And this time we are fighting head-on, and there is also a regiment covering on the left and right flanks, so the supply line can basically be guaranteed, so we can bring less food and ammunition, and we can appropriately add some warm equipment such as marching quilts, tarps, etc.

In fact, the most arduous and dangerous tasks should be regarded as interspersed operations.

Needless to say, interspersed operations are likely to make oneself the target of the enemy, and it is also very likely that there will be no water, food, and ammunition......

I think the superiors may have taken into account that our regiment has served on important tasks several times, and it can be said that we have experienced nine deaths on the battlefield, and our regiment does have experience in dealing with the 316A Division, and has a better understanding of the strategy and tactics of the 316A Division, so we will be able to take on a relatively easy frontal attack.

In fact, I know in my heart that although we have fought with the 316A Division and know what level their combat effectiveness is, we still know very little about them.

Some things are often like this, it's okay if you don't understand it at all or understand it thoroughly, but if you only understand the skin, your heart will be even more empty. We're in the kind of situation where we know a little bit about it......

And what about the recruits who haven't fought? is even more nervous, such as Wu Zhijun's class...... Obviously, after knowing that the war was imminent, there was less to eat.

It should be said that the food these days is quite good...... Maybe it's because the superiors know that we're gone and another group of people won't be able to come back, of course. This is similar to the fact that the Vietnamese army agents were searched and suppressed, and the logistics are guaranteed. So every meal can be distributed to rice for cooking. Occasionally, there is also meat ......

As for where this meat came from, everyone knows it in their hearts...... Even if the logistics are guaranteed, it is impossible for the rear to send meat up, and the cars at this time are busy sending bullets and shells to the position, even if there is rice to be delivered, even if it is good, who would be so bored to send fresh meat? And in Vietnam's hot and humid ghost weather, any meat stinks as long as it is half a day apart, and there is no condition to send it, right?

According to the cooking class, the meat was caused by the sight of a lost cow unclaimed...... So he improved the food for the soldiers. The warriors, of course, knew what was going on, but they all knew it.

It's just that many of the soldiers who fought this war looked like human flesh because of the bright red beef. Those who have never fought have lost their appetite because of nervousness, so few people can eat this beef, but it still disappoints the kindness of the cooking class.

During the break, the recruits would always ask over and over again what to pay attention to on the battlefield, how to dodge shells, bullets, etc...... Of course, those who have fought in war, such as scholars and bayonets, will not be stingy, and will take the trouble to explain to them over and over again......

But I knew it wouldn't be of any use, because when I went into battle, the guns rang out...... I'm afraid I'll forget everything.

The way to survive on the battlefield is not something that can be learned by talking about it, it needs to form a conditioned reflex, such as lying down as soon as the gun goes off. As soon as the cannon sounded, they immediately found cover...... Wait for you to think about what to do now, I'm afraid that your body is already in a different place!

So I thought about it. I set a few rules for the soldiers:

First: All the fighters had to blacken the red stars and red collar badges on their hats with black mud, and they had to be removed if it rained.

As a sniper, I know very well that these red things are clearly telling the devil where we are on the battlefield, even in the dark.

Second: All soldiers were not allowed to bring cigarettes into battle.

Soldiers who have the habit of smoking will always secretly smoke a few cigarettes on the battlefield with a fluke mentality, which may be fine during the day, but at night will not only expose themselves, but even attract the artillery fire of the Vietnamese army and put the entire army in danger.

Thirdly, once the troops are marching or staying overnight, they must strictly enforce an order when they encounter a sneak attack by the enemy, that is, they must lie on the ground and be killed without moving.

The reason is very simple: Most of our troops are new recruits who do not have much combat experience, and it is very easy to be confused and shoot indiscriminately when encountering a sneak attack by the Vietnamese army, and when the time comes, the soldiers will not be able to find cadres, and the cadres will not be able to find soldiers, and this unit will not be able to command.

In fact, this is still from the experience of "infiltration warfare". What worries me is that if the Vietnamese army launches another sneak attack on us on the battlefield or uses agents to infiltrate our troops to launch an "infiltration war", and then the various units are in a mess and fight each other, we will have to worry not only about the Vietnamese army, but also about our own comrades-in-arms on the battlefield...... Then stop this battle!

There are only three rules I have set, and these three should be said to be not difficult, or even very simple.

The reason why it's so simple...... It's because I know very well that if there are too many and too many things, then as soon as the soldiers go to the battlefield, they will be chaotic and mixed, and the result will often be counterproductive.

Of course, the recruits didn't have any problem with the rules I set, and they also knew that fighting a war was a matter of life, so they didn't dare to be slow in the slightest and immediately started to disguise themselves. Some of them made straw hats for themselves out of branches and leaves, some blackened their red collar badges with mud according to my orders, and some even used branches to stick themselves all over like hedgehogs, which made me cry and laugh......

It's just the soldiers who fought with me...... However, there is an opinion on the second article.

"Platoon commander!" The bayonet said this: "Then we are used to smoking, and when we don't smoke on the battlefield, we will feel uncomfortable...... I'm afraid it's not good! ”

"Yes, platoon commander!" Xiao Shi also chimed in beside him: "Then the recruits can abide by this rule, and we don't want to fight if we have been in battle...... Anyway, we know that we just need to hide and smoke during the day and resolutely not smoke at night! ”

I angrily scolded at the little stone: "You don't smoke, what are you messing with?" ”

"I'm ...... Isn't it just to say a few words for the comrades? Little Stone scratched his head with a look of injustice.

"All of them!" I did not allow them to question it, and again gave the order: "No one is allowed to bring cigarettes into battle, if you want to smoke...... Give me all to the Yue devils! Pay from the Yue devils, you can smoke as much as you want! ”

"Yes!" The warriors responded in unison, their faces full of helplessness.

It's just that what I didn't expect was that because I set this rule, my company has had a tradition since then: go into battle without cigarettes, and pay from the enemy!

It is precisely because of this rule that many soldiers, due to the urgency of time after the battle, often only search for cigarettes and do not surrender their guns...... So the other troops called us the troops who paid cigarettes but not guns, which means...... There were too many Vietnamese soldiers killed by us, and this gun was too heavy to take away, and all that could be taken away was smoke!

Actually, when the battle is fierce, who will be stupid enough to surrender the gun, having an extra gun on the body can only increase the burden and trouble for themselves, and there will be no benefit, we are more likely to use two magazines to replenish the ammunition, and leave the surrender of the gun to the containment team or the militia.

"Boom ......" At this time, the dense cannon sound came from the direction of Lao Cai again, and after a while, a fire and smoke rose in the direction of Sabah.

"Hey! Big Brother Artillery is fighting again! Wang Kechang shouted.

"Well played!" Xiao Shandong responded on the side: "Fight a few more times, and it's good to beat up the Yue devils!" ”

Of course, it is impossible for the more devils to be wiped out, and it can be seen from these words that Xiao Shandong is afraid, and he hopes that our army will be able to beat the more devils in the past few cannons.

But no one laughed at him, because whether it was a recruit or a veteran, or even me, the platoon commander...... Fear of the battlefield that is about to be.

After a while, the reader said a little strangely: "Why didn't this Yue devil fight back?" ”

"Needless to say? I'm scared! The bayonet had a look of pride on his face.

Since the first time our artillery opened fire last night, every one or two hours a cannon has been fired like this against the forward positions in Sabah.

At first, the Vietnamese artillery would return fire, but after a few times there was no sound soon.

However, I don't think this is because the Vietnamese army is afraid......

The reason why the Vietnamese army did not fight back is that I think it is very likely that the logistics supply is insufficient.

At this time, the Vietnamese army could be said to be fighting on two sides, one side was fighting with Cambodia, and the other side was fighting with China, plus they had basically no industrial capacity for many years, and most of the weapons and ammunition needed to be provided by the Soviet Union...... So this shell is just one shot less for them.

In some ways, I believe that our artillery units also hope that the Vietnamese artillery will return fire.

As soon as the Vietnamese artillery returned fire, the position would be exposed, and our artillery could then target these artillery positions to bombard.

Second, if the Vietnamese artillery returned fire, the shells would be consumed in large quantities...... It is quite possible that when our troops are really attacking, they will not be able to effectively suppress the charge of our infantry because of the lack of shells.

So...... I believe that the Vietnamese artillery is not afraid, but has seen through the tactics of our artillery and hid their strength.

In other words, at this time, the real battle has not yet begun, and the enemy's artillery has already begun to make overt or covert moves, and the results of this moves are likely to directly affect the outcome of the next battle.

At the same time, the sound of artillery is like a war drum in our hearts, making us feel that a big battle is about to break out.

Sometimes, I would have preferred to start fighting as soon as I was ordered, rather than being so tense and oppressive as the whole camp was now, almost breathless...... (To be continued......)
