Ode to the West Wind – Shelley
One
O fierce west wind, Thou art the breath of twilight,
Because of your invisible existence, the withered leaves flee in all directions,
It's like when the devil sees a wizard, he flees from him;
Those dead leaves, black and white, red and yellow,
Like a plague-stricken horde, Oh, you,
The west wind, you let the seed spread its wings,
Fly down to the dark winter bed, Lie down cold,
Like a corpse buried deep in a grave, until
Your blue sister returns home in triumph,
sounded her trumpet to the earth in her sleep,
Urging the buds, like a flock of sheep that drive graze,
Let the mountains and wilderness be filled with the aromatic tones of life;
Fierce elves, your figure is everywhere,
Oh, listen, you are destroying and preserving!
Two
In your turbulence, in the commotion of the sky,
The clouds are like falling leaves,
You are intertwined from the sky and the sea in the groves
Shake out the angels that send thunderstorms and lightning;
On the azure surface of your gas waves,
It is like the head of a priestess of Dionysus
Bright green silk, from the hazy horizon
All the way to the top of the heavens, all of them were scattered
The hair curls of an impending storm,
You are an elegy to the dying years,
The night of the quadrangle, is the vault of the huge tomb,
It is built on the spirit that you have gathered,
But from your sturdy momentum will erupt
black rain, electric fire, and hail; Oh, listen!
Three
You, O bring the blue Mediterranean Sea out of a summer dream
awake, it was once sent to sleep by clear water,
And he just lay in that place, sleeping soundly,
Sleep next to a rocky island in the bay of Bay,
See the old palaces and terraces in your sleep
Trembling gently in the waves under the scorching sun,
They're all full of flowers, and they're full of moss.
The intoxicating aroma is indescribable!
When I see you, the waves of the Atlantic Ocean suddenly crack,
Make way for you, And in the depths of the seabed,
A jungle of silt without slurry in the foliage
And countless sea flowers, corals, once heard
Your voices, one by one, trembled,
Trembling, as if robbed, Oh, listen!
Four
If I were a dead leaf for you to blow,
If I were a cloud that flew with you,
or the waves of water that gasp under your power,
Share your strong pulse, leisurely,
Unruly wind, even if it is not as free as you,
Or, if I could be like my childhood,
Accompany you to wander freely in the kingdom of heaven,
Even if you fly faster than you, it's not a fantasy -
Then I will never plead so bitterly with you:
Ah, roll me up! Like a rolling wave,
Or like sweeping away fallen leaves, or like driving away floating clouds!
I leap into the thorns of life, blood flows!
The weight of the years has bound my soul,
It's too much like you: agile, haughty, untamed.
Five
Use me as a harp, like that wood,
Even the leaves around me are falling!
You have wild passion in extraordinary harmony
Let me and the woods play majestic autumn music,
Sad and sweet. Raging elves,
May your swift souls and my swift souls fit!
Scatter my dead thoughts over the universe,
Like withered leaves being driven to urge new life!
And, according to the spell in my poem,
Declare my word to all the people of the earth,
It's like a spark coming out of a furnace that never goes out!
Let the trumpet of prophecy pass through my lips
Blow to the drowsy earth! Oh, the wind,
If winter comes, will spring be far away?
