59. Return to the enemy base

For three days after the last attack, we did not go out, and we continued to strengthen the fortifications, guard the base, and liquidate the supplies, but contrary to our state of readiness, the enemy never attacked again.

That being said, since we haven't been out on missions and looking for supplies, our food, as well as some consumables that make life more comfortable, have been reduced and not replenished. Later, there was really no way, so we had to go out and look for supplies. We disagreed on how to get out, and I thought it would be best to split the troops into two groups, one to stay at the base and the other to go out on an expedition; Uncle, they think they should all be dispatched. In the end, the minority obeyed the majority, and it was decided that all the people would go out.

We drove the two cars out of the garage and headed straight for the toll booth we had passed through on our previous mission, and although there were only a few of them, there were some supplies that we didn't have all the supplies in there. Once we reached the toll booth, we proceeded cautiously in case of new enemies, but to our surprise, we were able to recover our remaining supplies without encountering any enemies. Seeing that two cars and five people could still carry a lot of items, the uncle proposed to go to the enemy base that he had attacked before to observe:

"If the speculation is correct, the huge team of NPCs who came to attack before came out of this base, maybe their current combat power is very weak; We can go and see first, and if they are still fully armed, we can turn around and run. ”

So our group drove the car to the vicinity of the local base and turned off the fire. Since it was me and my uncle who infiltrated before, we were more familiar with the internal situation of the base, and this time the two of us entered it first to reconnoitre. The remaining three were on standby in a pickup truck with an on-board machine gun, while the SUV was parked in the bushes nearby.

The old rule, I sneaked with my uncle to the previous low wall, I turned on the optical camouflage and climbed over the wall to enter the base, and after ensuring the safety of the neighborhood, I gave my uncle a signal, and the uncle came in immediately.

While the optical camouflage was still active, I stood up and looked around, and found that there was only one NPC patrolling, which was a lot less than before, which was a good sign.

Next, after the optical camouflage was lifted, I told my uncle the news, and the uncle who was experienced in infiltrating led me to explore the base. We first sneaked around the walls of the base and found only two patrolling NPCs. At the same time, there is only one NPC guarding the front door. It seems that the uncle's conjecture is correct.

So we used the walkie-talkie to signal the other three companions to drive directly to attack, and soon the roar of the car engine was heard outside the front door, and a big battle was about to break out.
