Chapter Seventy-Two: Reserves

The disposition of our army is like this...... Excluding the helicopters that commanded, carried the Beijing jeep, and air-dropped mines, the remaining 14 helicopters were divided into five units.

The four buildings on the periphery were each assigned two helicopters, and the helicopters responsible for attacking the office building were assigned four helicopters, that is, four squads of infantry...... After all, the office building is our main target, and the office building is also divided into two floors above ground and underground, it may be difficult to attack, and the combat speed of the office building directly determines whether the entire army can withdraw within the scheduled time, so it is necessary to divide two more helicopters.

The remaining two helicopters are used as reserves, in case of accidents, our troops will still have troops available...... Having said that, this is very necessary in combat, especially in a special operation like ours...... Otherwise, as soon as we come up, we will distribute all the troops in our hands, and once there is an enemy situation in a direction that we have not considered, or there is a direction that cannot withstand the attack of the Vietnamese army......

At this time, if there are no reserves in hand, it is necessary to immediately transfer troops from other directions to the danger zone, and this will lead to a series of problems......

For example, the command is chaotic, and each fighter has a clear goal when the fight starts...... The first platoon plus the seventh shift was responsible for the defense of the two dormitory buildings, and these soldiers had carefully studied the tactics of defending the dormitory buildings before the battle, and allocated and arranged firepower in the direction in which the enemy was likely to attack, and if one of these squads was temporarily transferred...... There is no doubt that it will disrupt the layout of the dormitory, to put it simply...... That is, "tear down the east wall and make up the west wall".

Another example is unresponsiveness...... The transfer of a squad of soldiers from one battlefield to another requires several processes, the first of which is the gathering of soldiers scattered on the original battlefield. Then take these soldiers to the new battlefield. The last thing is to start a new battlefield according to the situation...... Although the communication equipment of our synthetic battalion has been popularized to every fighter. And the fighters are also very fast, but it still takes a certain amount of time to do this, which is intolerable for a battle like ours that requires the task to be completed and retreated within twenty minutes! This point is even very likely to be used by the Vietnamese army, that is, to fight here and there, so that we can run blindly and be played by the Vietnamese army!

Conversely, if there were reserves, there would not be such problems......

First of all, the reserve is the strength of the extraneous plan, where there is danger or unexpected circumstances, the reserve will go to the top, and then take back the reserve after the danger has passed, so there will be no situation of "tearing down the east wall and making up the west wall" at all.

Secondly...... The reserve team will also react much faster than "tearing down the east wall and making up the west wall...... The reserves are all ready. All ready to go in helicopters...... Once there is a situation, the helicopter will fly to the designated position with one turn, and then it will be able to rappel to the combat position within two minutes!

Again, the fighters will not have a clear purpose...... When there is an unexpected situation, all the other troops do not move, and what task was at the beginning is still what task is still now, and there is no need to run at both ends...... The only difference is that the reserve team must be mentally prepared, that is, it needs to be prepared to perform a variety of tasks, such as sending the reserve team to strengthen the defense of the dormitory building, it may also go to the cafeteria defense, or it will strengthen the attack on the office building.

Other words...... The reserve unit needs to be familiar with the terrain of each defensive position and the firepower and strength of the Vietnamese army. Just in case.

This is also the reason why the reserve is often the strongest of a force...... This is the opposite of our reserve team in the Peace World Realm, which is a reserve team in the Peace World Realm...... For example, the basketball team, the football team...... Most of these reserves are under-caliber substitutes......

The reserve corps we have in our hands is two squads of the second platoon...... The platoon commander of these two squads is Li Zuolong. This is not to say that this platoon is particularly strong because the platoon commander is Li Zuolong, but because this second platoon is a unit that I grew up in......

You must know that I used to be a small soldier in the second platoon, then I became a squad leader, and then I was the second platoon leader...... I watched the soldiers of the second platoon grow up one by one, and they all watched me become the commander of this battalion one by one...... So their feelings for me and my feelings for them are a little different, which is not to say that I have any prejudice against other troops, but this second platoon is like a mother's family to us, so naturally the second platoon will have more attention and more requirements!

On the other hand...... I think part of the reason why the second row is so strong is because I ...... It is said that some scientists have calculated that if a soldier survives the first few battles on the battlefield and does not die, then with the enhancement of his combat experience and battlefield reflexes and instincts, his survival rate on the subsequent battlefield will be greatly increased......

On the battlefield in Vietnam, there were many soldiers who did not survive the battle, so they did not have the opportunity to grow into a good soldier at all.

But the second row is different...... Because I know some historical knowledge, I have skills similar to "unpredictable prophets" on the battlefield, which makes most of the soldiers in the second platoon survive, and this survival is still after several fierce battles...... As long as he is a soldier who is not stupid or stupid, and he can still live after all this, this experience itself is an excellent training and wealth, coupled with the tacit understanding cultivated by life and death on the battlefield beyond other troops, it makes the second platoon an outstanding unit in the synthetic battalion, which can be seen in training and exercises in peacetime!

The battle unfolded as smoothly as we rehearsed...... As I expected, the Vietnamese army had little anti-aircraft firepower...... The Sino-Vietnamese war has been fought for more than two years, and neither side has used air power to measure, so they are used to coming and going...... As a matter of course, the Vietnamese army will not arrange any anti-aircraft weapons, and some of them are also planning to use anti-aircraft machine guns to fight infantry, but it is a pity that these anti-aircraft machine guns have almost wiped out our helicopter firepower as soon as they come up, even if there are still a few at this time......

It is very likely that these are newly moved out of the warehouse by the Vietnamese devils, which can be seen from the fact that they are still busy carrying ammunition, and from this point of view, the reaction speed of the Vietnamese army is still quite fast...... At this time, less than five minutes after leaving the battle, they actually knew what weapons needed to be strengthened and quickly arranged them, and they were indeed Vietnamese agents with rich combat experience......

It's a pity that ...... These newly arranged anti-aircraft machine guns also did little either.

On the one hand, this is because our army's reconnaissance planes frequently fire flares at low altitudes...... The four helicopters responsible for laying mines and carrying Beijing jeeps will have nothing to do after laying mines or putting Beijing jeeps on the ground, and at the same time, these helicopters cannot carry weapons because of the load capacity...... Then bring some flares!

The flare was shot at the right place at low altitude...... That's amazing, the strong light illuminates the enemy's area white, but the area where our army is located is still dark, and even the Vietnamese army can't see where the helicopter is because of the strong light......

In such a situation, the anti-aircraft machine guns on the helicopter fired a burst...... They beat the Vietnamese anti-aircraft machine gunners who were still looking for targets everywhere like headless flies, and they fired like this...... The Vietnamese anti-aircraft machine guns were basically useless, because the bullets fired by the anti-aircraft machine guns were very dense, and there were always a few rounds that happened to hit the Vietnamese anti-aircraft machine guns...... IT'S TRUE THAT SOVIET-STYLE EQUIPMENT IS SAFE, BUT IF IT CAN STILL HIT BY A 12.7MM BULLET, IT CAN BE SAID TO BE AN ARTIFACT!

It was in this situation that the helicopter groups flew near the buildings for which they were responsible and began to rappel......

We generally divide the rappelling into two parts...... One is the rooftop rope and the other is the ground rope down, the intention is needless to say, that is, to attack the Vietnamese army in the building on both sides!

Compared to the ground rope down...... Rappelling from the rooftop is much safer.

It is conceivable that the height of the helicopter was high when the roof rope was lowered, and most of the time the Vietnamese troops were facing the ground with the bottom armor...... In this way, the possibility of being shot down by the Vietnamese army is very small, because the Vietnamese army's rifles and light machine guns cannot penetrate the bottom armor of the helicopter, and the antiaircraft machine guns are completely suppressed by the fire of our helicopters, and the rockets have a short range, poor accuracy, and a large wind deviation rate...... Therefore, although the Vietnamese army stationed at the steel plant was a special agent company, and although our army's defense strength was not strong, it did not have effective weapons against our helicopters for a while.

But it's not the same if it's a ground rappel...... Ground absolutes mean that the helicopter is high and low, and there are many Vietnamese troops hiding in the nearby buildings...... They can quite well attack the flanks of the helicopter, in other words...... All the Vietnamese had to do was set up a light machine gun or a few AK47s...... It is possible to destroy our military planes and kill people!

Of course, we have considered this situation, and the solution is that the roof will land first, and the helicopter on the ground will be responsible for covering......

This cover consists of two aspects, one is to observe the movement and position of the enemy in the building, and then report these situations to the roof parade force through the walkie-talkie, so that the roof parade force has just landed on the ground...... I know how many enemies there are on the next floor or where they are!

The other, of course, is fire cover...... It's just that you have to be very careful with this fire cover, as I said before...... These buildings are basically dilapidated now, so helicopters don't dare to use rockets at all, at most they use machine guns to strafe a row of bullets! (To be continued......)
