Section 20 Qiu Jin I

The imperial court closely followed the itinerary of the Fifth Town to the south of Guangdong. Liang Bi, who returned to Nanchang to wait for the news of the Fifth Town, learned that after the Fifth Town arrived at Shaozhou Mansion (now Shaoguan), the troops were divided into two routes, one along Shaoguan to Guangzhou, and the other road turned westward, from Lianzhou and Wuzhou to Lianzhou Mansion. Finally put my mind at ease. Wu Chongxi's confusion about the division of troops said that Long Qian's right side is a regular soldier, and he is facing Lianzhou head-on, but what is really powerful is the army on the left, which must be from Guangzhou and Yangjiang to Leizhou in the west, outflanking Lianzhou's rear road, this is a foolproof strategy, and the major event is decided, and I can return to Beijing safely. A telegram was immediately sent to Beijing, reporting that Long Qian's army had entered Guangdong, and that the rebellion in Guangdong could be calmed down, and there was no need to worry.

Considering Long Qian's swiftness and resoluteness in pacifying Hunan and Jiangxi, Liangbi felt that although Long Qian had a heart of disobedience, he at least tried his best at the pacification alliance. Therefore, the considerations of the Queen Mother and Liangbi are correct.

As soon as Liangbi, who had completed his mission, arrived in Jiujiang, he heard that something happened in Anqing, and the governor Xu Xilin was killed, and the protagonist was called Xu Xilin, who was a member of the Restoration Society. Immediately went down the river to the east and went to Anqing, the provincial capital where something big happened.

Xu Xilin, the protagonist of the incident, is Chinese New Year's Eve years old, joined the Restoration Society two years ago, accepted the advice of Tao Chengzhang, the main leader of the Restoration Society, and spent money to buy a Taoist, becoming the actual host of the newly established Anhui Patrol Police School. Although the Restoration Society has been merged into the Alliance, in fact, the organization is still independent, and the affairs are naturally independent.

Tao Chengzhang was a staunch anti-Qing righteous man, and he had a different line from Sun Wen who spent money to hire the Hui Party to start an uprising. Instead, they started from within the Manchu Qing Dynasty and believed that revolutionaries must first become Manchu officials, especially those who wield the barrel of a gun, before they could plot against the Qing Dynasty. Xu Xilin just took this road.

Xu Xilin, who was in charge of the patrol police academy, was successful, and among his students, there were many righteous people who followed him to oppose the Qing Dynasty.

On July 6, at the graduation ceremony held two days in advance at the Anhui Patrol Police Academy, Xu Xilin took the opportunity of the report to suddenly pull out two pistols, fired both hands together, and continuously shot Anhui Governor Enming, who came to watch the ceremony. As a result, Eun Ming was shot in the upper lip, left hand, waist and leg. Due to Xu Xilin's high degree of myopia. Enming was only injured at the time, but not killed.

The scene was chaotic, and Enming's guards didn't care about counterattacking, and took the opportunity of Xu Xilin to reload the empty pistol. Eun Ming, who was bleeding on his back, took the road and fled for his life. Xu Xilin's comrade Chen Boping caught up and continued to shoot. A bullet is inserted into the abdominal cavity through the posterior spine.

Feng Xu, who was standing beside Enming and watching the ceremony, was stunned by this sudden incident. He stood there motionless. Xu Xilin didn't hurt him, but said Lord Feng go quickly, it's none of your business.

Because Feng Xu is Han.

Xu Xilin led the trainees to take over the ordnance station. But the door of the ammunition depot made of stainless steel could not be opened. At this time, Liu Lizhen, the commander of the Anhui patrol battalion, arrived with his troops and surrounded the ordnance station. During the confrontation, Chen Boping was shot and died, and Xu Xilin and the trainees who followed him were captured.

This Enming is the noble son who escaped from the capital in the year of Gengzi and joined the Longqian department, and in seven years, he became the governor of a province. A few months ago, Long Qian led his troops from Shandong, Henan, and Anhui to Hunan and Jiangxi, and Enming also sent a letter to Long Qian, hoping that he would gather in Anqing (the capital of Anhui Province) if it was convenient for him.

Long Qian wrote back to him, saying that the military affairs were urgent, and the meeting could only be chosen.

It is worth mentioning that Enming, who has a good official reputation in Anhui, has absolute knowledge of Xu Xilin, and if there is no Enming, Xu Xilin, who has little qualifications, will never sit in the position of the patrol police academy. After Xu Xilin was captured, he scolded Feng Xu, the acting governor who interrogated him, for his ingratitude, and Xu Xilin confessed that he had indeed received great favor from Enming, but that he had killed Enming for the country, not for the individual. In other words, he is personally grateful to Enming.

Liangbi, who rushed to Anqing, ordered Xu Xilin to be executed immediately as an example.

The heartbroken Enming's family made a cruel request to dissect Xu Xilin's heart and liver to pay tribute to Enming. Feng Xu thanked Xu Xilin for letting him go at the scene of the assassination, and hinted to his subordinates, first smashing the scrotum, and when he cut off his head and heart, Xu Xilin was already angry.

The bright red heart was ripped out by a sharp blade and sacrificed in front of Eun Ming's spirit. This kind of barbaric era of worship appeared in China in the twentieth century.

The case of Xu Xilin's assassination of Enming opened the bloody curtain of the change of dynasty. This incident quickly spread to the world, and the organization of the Liberation Society became famous overnight. The story does not end there, because after Xu Xilin's younger brother was arrested, he confessed to another of Xu Xilin's fellow party members in Zhejiang, the famous female revolutionary Qiu Jin.

Qiu Jin, a native of Shanyin, Zhejiang Province (now Shaoxing), self-proclaimed Jianhu Woman, was born in 1875 and was the same as Long Qian, who was in the south of the unified army to suppress the revolution. She studied at home school with her brother when she was a child, and was good at literature and history, able to write poetry, and learned horseback fencing with her cousin at the age of fifteen.

Qiu Jin left her hometown of Shaoxing in the sixteenth year of Guangxu (1890) with her father, who was an official in Hunan, and her carefree girlhood came to an end, according to the arrangement of her parents, Qiu Jin married Wang Tingjun, a son of a wealthy family in Xiangtan in the twenty-second year of Guangxu (1896). Wang Tingjun's father was a cousin of Zeng Guofan and used to be the bookkeeper of Zeng's mansion.

According to the customs of the time, Qiu Jin's age of marriage was obviously overage, which seemed to reflect Qiu Jin's character. If it weren't for her husband's later appearance, Qiu Jin might have lived the same life as most women at that time, serving her in-laws, raising children, and spending an ordinary life without a name, without even leaving a name. But the husband paid to buy an official, that was another way to be an official in the Qing Dynasty, and donating money to officials was one of the evil governments, and everyone understood what would happen to those who spent money to buy officials once they became officials, but the court had no choice, because this was one of the main ways to ease finances. From the time of Daoguang onwards, the Qing Dynasty's finances had deteriorated thoroughly with repeated defeats in foreign wars. In fact, the Chinese regimes, which claimed to be the Central Empire, were one of the main reasons for the bankruptcy of the imperial court, and they never thought that war could make money. You can get rich. If the battle is won, it will show the magnanimity of the Central Empire, at most punish the chieftain of the enemy country, and will not ask the other party to make financial compensation - that is not the magnanimity of the Celestial Empire, let alone defeat. This is a wonderful ancestral family law, no matter what doctrine is believed, the great man who holds the authority of the heavenly kingdom is like an apprentice taught by a master, or compensate, or help, or pardon. It is not to consider the interests of the people of the country.

Year 1900. Because her husband paid money to serve as the head of the household department, Qiu Jin went to Beijing with her husband. This experience changed her life completely. Qiu Jin met her husband's colleague's wife, Wu Zhiying, in Beijing, who was the daughter of Xi Rulun, the head teacher of Beijing Normal University (Peking University), and was a multi-talented woman. Calligraphy amazes the capital. Qiu Jin entered the Jingshi social circle with the help of Wu Zhiying. I got acquainted with Shigeko Hattori, the wife of a Japanese teacher at Kyoto University, and many celebrities. Eyes are open. Ideas have also become radicalized.

A talented and strong wife makes a husband who has little knowledge and a cowardly personality at a loss. Qiu Jin once described her husband like this. "No faith, no ruthlessness, prostitution, gambling, lying and hurting others, insulting relatives, arrogance, copper stinking." The wife who opened her eyes and came into contact with the world world described her husband like this, which shows that Wang Tingjun's image in the eyes of his wife is completely ruined.

In June 1904, the twenty-nine-year-old Qiu Jin went east to Japan to study. In the autumn of the same year, Qiu Jin founded the "Vernacular Daily" in Japan, advocating women's emancipation and advocating equality between men and women. Get acquainted with fellow villagers in Japan, such as Zhou Shuren and Tao Chengzhang. In the spring of the following year, he returned to China to raise tuition fees, met Xu Xilin in Shaoxing, and was introduced by Xu to join the Liberation Society. In August of that year, she went east to Japan again to study at the Aoyama Practice Girls' School in Tokyo, and in September, she met Sun Yat-sen at Huang Xing's apartment. He was introduced by Feng to join the Alliance. He was elected as a member of the evaluation department and the main member of the Zhejiang Alliance.

At the end of the year, he returned to China and taught briefly at Xunxi Girls' School in Nanxun Town, Hunan. Two months later, he resigned and went to Shanghai, where he prepared to organize the Zhejiang Hui Party to launch an armed uprising. In September, she founded the "China Women's Daily", and in early 1907, she took over as the supervisor of Datong School.

Qiu Jin is already a senior leader of the League, equivalent to the secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee in later generations.

After Xu Xilin's case, Qiu Jin saw the news of Xu Xilin's assassination of Enming and his heroic death in a newspaper published in Shanghai, and wept in her inner room. At this time, the strength of the party in Zhejiang and the party army in Jinhua had been completely destroyed, and the party army in Chuzhou could not be mobilized for a while. The students of Datong School suggested that they should immediately take action, kill the prefect of Shaoxing, Guifu, occupy Shaoxing, and then try to follow up, and Qiu Jin agreed.

What she didn't know was that at this time she had been denounced by the Shaoxing gentry Hu Daonan, who told Guifu that Qiu Jin was the revolutionary party and the general person in charge of the Shaoxing area, and she was an extremely dangerous figure who befriended the party.

Poor sense of secrecy was a common problem of the revolutionary party at that time, and the rebellion had not yet been wiped out, and it had long been publicized throughout the city.

Guifu had already heard about Qiu Jin. Xu Xilin's assassination of Enming, the governor of Anhui Province, who was very kind to him, gave Guifu a great stimulus, thinking that these revolutionary parties were simply inhumane. I thought to myself that if I fell into the hands of the revolutionary party, these people would never give themselves good fruit to eat. How did Enming treat Xu Xilin at the beginning? For the sake of their rebellion, they can shoot mercilessly, causing Enming to be hit by seven bullets, and he swallowed before the bullets were taken out. Although he and Qiu Jin are not unaware, they never have Enming's kindness to Xu Xilin, can they forgive themselves? Therefore, Guifu immediately went to Hangzhou to report to Zhejiang Governor Zhang Zengxiao, who was very famous for Qiu Jin and couldn't make up his mind for a while, so he consulted the giant gentry Tang Shouqian before deciding to arrest Qiu Jin, and sent Li Yizhi, the commander of the patrol battalion, to lead the first standard to cross the Qiantang River to Shaoxing to carry out the arrest mission.

Qiu Jin had obtained a secret letter from the party in Hangzhou, and took some measures, hiding guns and ammunition, burning the roster, and dismissing the students of Datong School who might be on the imperial court's wanted list. The next day, Wang Jinfa, the leader of the party army in Shengxian County, hurried from Shengxian County and agreed with Qiu Jin on the first ten incidents, when Wang led the party to kill from Shengxian to Shaoxing.

After Wang Jinfa left, someone immediately reported that the Qing army was heading towards Shaoxing, and everyone advised Qiu Jin to flee immediately. Qiu Jin didn't speak or leave. When the Qing army surrounded the Datong School, the backbone students persuaded Qiu Jin to escape, and Qiu Jin said angrily, "The success of the revolution will be bloodshed, I will water the flower of freedom with my blood, if the Manchu slaves can tie me to the guillotine, the revolution can be at least five years early." ”

There is a lot of courage for Tan Si to sacrifice his life for righteousness nine years ago.

Li Zhongyue, the magistrate of Shanyin County, was ordered by Guifu to lead a team to arrest Qiu Jin. Li Zhongyue is a Han Chinese, and has always admired Qiu Jin's character, for the prefect's order, he first refused, and then wanted to take the opportunity to rescue Qiu Jin, and ordered the soldiers not to hurt the woman, but in fact, to save Qiu Jin. When he arrived at Datong School, Li Zhongyue ordered the soldiers to shoot into the sky, warning Qiu Jin to flee quickly. However, Qiu Jin had already reported his determination to die, and although he heard the gunshots, he still sat still and was arrested.

Before Qiu Jin's incident, Guifu was also a guest at Chase School, and when Guifu interrogated Qiu Jin, Qiu Jin pointed out this, blocked Guifu's words, and also made Guifu kill.

The next day, the case was handed over to Lee Jong-yue for interrogation. Qiu Jin readily admitted that she was a revolutionary party.

Li Zhongyue put pen and ink paper in front, and Qiu Jin wrote seven characters, "The autumn wind and autumn rain are sad." Then she asked for a pen and wrote down her confession that she planned and led the riot. (To be continued......)
