In terms of supply and transportation, Zhangjiakou is also the transportation hub and material distribution center of Hebei, Beijing, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, that is, Zhangjiakou can be isolated from these provinces in a large distance.

In addition, our imaginary enemy is the Soviet Union from the north, so there is no need to think about it, this exercise is also carried out around the location of Zhangjiakou.

On the way to the march, I felt that this exercise was different from any previous battle or even any battle I had participated in, and the difference was not that there were more than 10,000 military vehicles on the ground, or hundreds of military columns transporting soldiers and supplies, nor that a large number of motorized units and tank units rushed to the exercise ground in a neat formation, but that there were batches of various planes passing in the sky.

Helicopters at low altitudes, transport planes and bombers at the middle level, and fighter jets at high altitudes...... The sheer number of them made the soldiers of the synthetic battalion who had seen the world staggering, so much so that they couldn't stop looking up into the air while marching, and sometimes even cheered loudly from their own air force formations.

But then again, although we have seen the "big world" in the synthetic camp. But I've never seen anything like it.

To fight the Vietnamese devils, there is almost no need for the air force. It was only a small number of helicopters or reconnaissance planes. Fighter jets occasionally circled the border twice, but that was only a deterrent, and they didn't fire a single shot.

In Afghanistan, the vast majority of what we see is only helicopters, bombers are not seen very often, and fighter planes are almost non-...... Fighter jets are more suitable for use in regular combat when seizing air supremacy, fighting guerrillas and cooperating with the Afghan government army to fight those guerrillas without air force, then using fighter jets is like fighting mosquitoes with artillery.

I can understand the pride of the soldiers, although we are now playing the blue army, but we are still Chinese, and it is strange not to be excited to see that there are so many fighters and helicopters in our country.

However, when I saw this scene, I only felt a little helpless, because I knew that although there were many military aircraft of all kinds in our country in this era, they were obviously inferior to the Soviet Union in terms of quality...... Our country's current main fighters are still the J-6 and J-7 in the 50s, and the J-8 fighters also have them, but on the one hand, this thing itself is a product of the 60s (note: the first successful flight of the J-8 was 69 years), on the other hand, our army was not in service until 80 years, that is, last year, and its combat effectiveness is still very weak. From this point of view. If the Soviet invasion is to be simulated, it should be that the Blue Army is equipped with a large number of various types of fighters, while the Red Army can only be equipped with a limited number of fighters.

In fact, the superiors also considered that they should realistically simulate the invasion of the Soviet army, so that they and our entire army could understand the gap between the combat effectiveness of the Soviet army and the Soviet army, and only after knowing the gap could they find a way to catch up, but the objective situation did not allow them to do so.

There are two reasons for this:

First, if the Red Army loses too badly, it will affect the morale of our army in a great way, and there is no need to say much about this, you must know that it is the 38th Army of our army that plays the role of the Red Army, and if even the 38th Army is beaten to the point where the exercise is set up, then will other troops still need to fight?

In addition to allowing the army to be trained, the purpose of the military exercise is also to demonstrate to the imaginary enemy and to stabilize the people's hearts and minds at home.

So from this point of view, it is still necessary to put on a play near the observation point to publicize it to the outside world.

On the other hand, it is more important for the superiors to take into account that the Soviet devils will always pay attention to this military exercise of our army.

The USSR had spy satellites, didn't it? Moreover, there are many spies or something, and it is not impossible to know some of the military exercises of our army and estimate the combat effectiveness of our army based on this.

If we strictly follow the gap between the Chinese and Soviet armies, the result will be a reference for our army, but at the same time, it will also provide a reference for the Soviet devils. It can even be said that the Soviet devils took advantage of the greater advantage, and they did not have to spend a penny or exert a penny to see what kind of battle would happen if they invaded China.

Therefore, it is also necessary to make this exercise a little fake, or it is also meaningful to appropriately increase some advantages of the Red Army, such as letting the 38th Army, which has the strongest combat effectiveness, play the Red Army, and let the Red Army have an air force that is not inferior to the Blue Army, etc., but what I didn't expect is that this is actually just the tip of the iceberg.

"Here's the thing!" In regular operations, there will not be too many fancy and intrigues, and the repeated thing is to use firepower and the coordination of various arms to make a breakthrough, and the Soviet Union also has a large number of airborne troops in its hands, so there is no problem in implementing airborne landing in the rear.

The problem is: if this is a real battle, then the Soviet Union can choose any point on our long border line to carry out a breakthrough, and the Red Army will not know which point the other side wants to break through, unless the Red Army's intelligence work is very good, but the intelligence agency of our army is still the same as the KGB of the Soviet Union, so this possibility can be said to be very small.
