The guard company of the second detachment and the special service company of the military sub-division, which attacked from the east, occupied a compound in the east of the village, and the battle was fought house-to-house.

Sensing that the end was coming, the enemy stuck to several courtyards, raising signal flares from time to time to ask for help from the Japanese army in Sucheng. The Japanese troops in the city did not dare to move, and they also raised signal flares in the city, indicating that they could not help. At this time, Ji Chun and Qiushui of the Huaihai branch of the Japanese Liberation Alliance shouted to the besieged Japanese army to persuade them to surrender. The Japanese army was still fighting, and Kanai ran from one courtyard to another, and ordered the soldiers to "defend to the end" with all his might.

At 3 a.m., part of the enemy broke through from the north of the village and fled west along the canal. The enemies of the village were finally pinned down in two houses. In order to end the battle as soon as possible, the second detachment concentrated all the mortars and bombarded the two houses, and Kanai and 26 Japanese soldiers were all killed in the flames. In this battle, a total of 66 Japanese puppet soldiers were eliminated, 2 Japanese soldiers and 97 puppet soldiers were captured. Since then, the anti-Japanese situation in Huaihai District has become more stable. The Suqian anti-Japanese base area was further consolidated and developed.
