Metasequoia was once considered extinct by botanists around the world, but in 1945, Chinese foresters discovered the metasequoia forest area in Lichuan City, Hubei Province, which became a sensational world news. In order to commemorate the first discovery of this ancient tree species in Hubei, the city of Wuhan decided to position Metasequoia as the city tree, symbolizing the people of Wuhan with its fortitude, strength and uprightness. As you can see now, the leaves of Metasequoia turn red in late autumn every year, and they shine a golden red in the sun.

Continue to the east, we will arrive at Tingtao Xuan, Tingtao Xuan is surrounded by green bamboo and pine trees, do you see the stone slope protection in front? Walking across the Hefeng Bridge, we now see this three-story pavilion with green tiles and columns, which is the center of the Tingtao Tourist Area---- Xingyin Pavilion. It is built to commemorate the famous patriotic poet Qu Yuan during the Warring States Period, when it comes to Qu Yuan, I think everyone will be very familiar with him, he is one of the world's four major cultural celebrities, everyone is well-known, the Dragon Boat Festival with very strong national characteristics is also to commemorate him. During the Warring States Period, he was the greatest trust of King Chu Huai at the beginning, so he often put forward some governing policies to King Chu Huai, implementing the policy of "promoting the virtuous and empowering the talents" internally, and implementing the strategy of "uniting to resist Qin" externally. But aren't all loyal ministers framed by treacherous villains? Later, Qu Yuan was ostracized by the villain and exiled to Jiangbei. After King Chu Xiang succeeded to the throne, he was exiled farther to Jiangnan. Later, the Qin State broke through the capital of the Chu State, and Qu Yuan, who had lived in exile in the south of the Yangtze River for twenty years, witnessed the destruction of the country, and was so grieved that he committed suicide by throwing himself into the Miluo River. In order to commemorate this great poet, the people of Wuhan specially built this pavilion for him. The pavilion in front of us is the same as the Yellow Crane Tower we visited yesterday, it is a reinforced concrete imitation wood structure, if you look down from the sky, you will find that its plane is actually a square, very distinctive. There are portraits of Qu Yuan and a brief introduction to his life in the Xingyin Pavilion, and some of his writings are also displayed, which friends want to study Qu Yuan in depth, if you want to study Qu Yuan in depth, these precious materials in it should not be missed, I believe it will be of great help to your research. If you want to take a commemorative photo, don't miss the statue in front of you, it is a symbol of Xingyin Pavilion, up to 6.8 meters, the statue shows Qu Yuan looking at the sky, about to walk, chanting "Tianwen" demeanor, revealing the poet's sad and depressed mood after being exiled, and the name "Xingyin Pavilion" is from the "Chu Ci Fisherman" in "Qu Yuan is released, swimming in the river pool, Xingyin Ze. ”

Later, a person named Ma Zuchang in the Yuan Dynasty also had the verse "Don't forget the Wuchang fish when you travel south". After the liberation, because Chairman Mao often came to Wuhan to inspect, most of them lived in the East Lake Scenic Area, he had eaten Wuchang fish in the Tingtao restaurant at that time, and appreciated it, in 1956, his "Water Tune Song Head. "Swimming" also left the famous sentence "only drink Changsha water, and eat Wuchang fish". It can be seen that the reputation of Wuchang fish has spread a long time ago. Then we will also taste this legendary Wuchang fish at noon today and experience its deliciousness together.
