Chapter 70: The Whitebeard Old Man's Suspicions
A large circular room, surrounded by a circle of bookcases, on which not only books were placed, but also some strange things, making all sorts of funny little sounds.
An old man with a white beard sat behind a large wooden desk, chewing on something.
On the slender wooden desk, there is a plate of 'cockroaches', an unfolded book, and a delicate teacup, the teapot hanging in the air, 'spurting'.
"Smack...", the owl banged on the window.
As soon as the old man waved his hand, the window opened automatically, and the little owl flew in happily and circled the room, as if bringing news that would put people in a good mood.
The walls were covered with portraits, both men and women, all snoring softly in their respective frames, and the little owl flew curiously to one of the frames, trying to peck at a portrait that appeared to be asleep.
"Hey, I'm looking at you!" The portrait pretending to be asleep opens its eyes and waves its hand to banish the little owl.
The old man behind the desk was amused, and he beckoned to the owl, "Come here, kid, let me see what news you have brought me..."
The little owl submissively jumped onto the table, and the old man took the long rolled note from its little feet.
'β¦ Headmaster Dumbledore, though I don't quite know, just for the sake of a smooth floor tile - to spy on (allow me to use that word) is necessary for a little girl who is not a threat... But at the behest of the Headmaster of Hogwarts, I've been to the Muggle world a few more times lately..."
'β¦ Last time I mentioned that the Weasleys were living in Anna's house, and they were honest, except for a bit of naughtyness, (including selling toys and magical items to Muggles, and abusing magic) but overall, they didn't do anything out of the ordinary...'
'β¦ Some time ago, I also helped a lady in crisis, it is not an exaggeration to say, they are all good children with good character and great talent, if you are afraid that Harry will learn badly from them, then I hope my words can put you at ease...'
Dumbledore shook his head helplessly, it seemed that Professor McGonagall had a high opinion of these children, which was a good thing... But I'm not worried about this...
'β¦ The Anna you brought to my attention, she is very good and talented. As for the 'ambition' you mentioned β didn't I say what 'ambition' could she have for a cute little girl? Dominating the wizarding world with teddy bears? Children of this age only know how to go wild, and today they have gathered in Diagon Alley...'
'β¦ Anna took the twins to buy ice cream, Harry and the rest of the kids were waiting for them to come back at number 92, ordinary, I'm now crouching on the floor in front of their window, everything is fine except for the street that's a little hot...'
Dumbledore picked up a piece of 'cockroaches' on the table and fed it to the little owl, "Thank you for your hard work delivering the message. The little owl swallowed the candy, nodded its head and flew away.
On the shelf behind the wooden table, a tattered, dirty-looking wizard's hat spoke, "Dumbledore... Do you have any concerns? β
"No," Dumbledore took a sip of tea, "I just think this girl is a bit like a person...", like two people, one in prison and one here, to be exact.
Some of the portraits opened their eyes.
"She's very talented, very high, and the 'descaling charm' she cast on the fourth floor made the stone bricks incredibly smooth, and the effect of the spell lasted for a whole day," said Dumbledore, with a look of joy similar to the success of the prank, "Professor Flitwick's butt accidentally came into close contact with the floor when he went to the Charms classroom. β
"Headmaster Dumbledore," one of the ladies in the portrait looked disapproving, "maybe you could put a non-slip sign next to that tile... So that students and professors don't slip. β
"Oh Delith, of course," Dumbledore stroked his beard and laughed, "I'll pay attention next time." β
"Knock knock!" A loud knock rang out at the door, "Headmaster Dumbledore!" The man's panting and hoarse voice sounded, sounding very urgent.
Dumbledore raised his hand, the door to the Headmaster's room opened, and a dark figure broke in, "Headmaster Dumbledore!" The Dragons of Gringotts... The Mark of the Dark Devil in the sky of Diagon Alley! β
"Calm down, Snape," Dumbledore handed Snape a cup of hot tea, "calm down." β
I'm calm down! Voldemort's sign β in heaven! The Dragons of Gringotts - Released! He's not dead! And come out to do something!
With a thousand words hidden in his heart, Snape took the tea from Dumbledore, "He's back." β
The portraits on the walls exclaimed.
Dumbledore frowned, he looked at the letter Professor McGonagall had just given him, and Anna happened to be in Diagon Alley... Just a coincidence?
"Do you have a reaction to the Dark Mark on your hand?"
Snape shook his head, "No, nothing at allβnone of the Death Eaters knew about it, it was without warning. β
Snape pulled out a letter, "I can smell Lucius's surprise in the letter to me!" β
"I can see that he wrote it in a hurry while eating," Dumbledore took the letter, and the expensive letter paper was still stained with sweet soup in the lower left corner, giving off a bad smell.
'β¦ Snape - do you have any news? What's going on with the Dark Mark in Diagon Alley?! Is he back again? Merlin's beard... Why did he release the dragon from Gringotts? Could it be that the scope of this purge will be even more extensive? Please get back to me as soon as possible...'
"I don't even know how to reply to him, there are five questions in this sentence," Snape paced around the round office, "but what's really annoying is that I don't know the answers to any of them..."
"This thing... It's weird, it's weird in every way," Dumbledore patted Snape on the shoulder, "If there's any reaction to the Dark Mark on your body, let me know in time." β
Snape nodded.
"Da Da ...", the hurried footsteps came from outside the door.
"Smack!" The door to the principal's office, which was not tightly closed, was opened, and a tall woman walked in.
"Headmaster Dumbledore!" Professor McGonagall shouted until she saw Snape standing nearby, "Oh, Professor Snape," she paused for a moment, "I didn't expect you to be here." β
Snape rolled his eyes inwardly, "Of course, of course I'm here, can't I be here?" β
"Not right now," Professor McGonagall politely moved away, "I have something urgent to get to Headmaster Dumbledore. β
"Hmph," Snape said nothing, turning to leave the room.
"Headmaster Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall's expression changed the moment she heard the door close, her eyes widened with astonishment, "Annaβthe Anna you asked me to spy on, and the children!" I always feel that they have nothing to do with today's events! β
Dumbledore raised his hand, took a cup of tea floating over and handed it to McGonagall, "Calm down, Professor McGonagall, calm down... Do you have any proof? β
How can I calm down! That's a bunch of kids - it's Gringotts again! It's the whole Black Mark again!
"There's no proof," she coughed lightly and took the teacup from the tea, "but I think I must have missed something... Anna they bought ice cream and never came back... The dragon was released, and the three of them suddenly disappeared, and in a few moments the Dark Devil sign appeared in the sky..."
"What's the connection?" Professor McGonagall frowned.
"Why?" Dumbledore snapped into words.
"What?"
"Why are they going to release dragons? And why put the Dark Mark in the sky? Dumbledore stroked his beard, "Anna, this kid who grew up in the Muggle world, always gives me a strange feeling... I found out the last time they were at Hogwarts..."
"It stands to reason that the One-Eyed Witch's secret passage requires a password to open, and this password is absolutely impossible to guess, and of course it is not excluded that the Weasley school child told his brother..."Dumbledore said to himself.
"But I asked Bill, Charlie, and Percy, and none of the three of them knew the secret passage existed, let alone the password..."
"Strange, strange," Dumbledore spun around, "she knew Nymphadora. Tonks is a disguised Magus, but Nymphadora says she never told Anna about it..."
Professor McGonagall swallowed.
"Perhaps," Dumbledore stopped at his desk and picked up a piece of the 'cockroach' on the table, "Anna has a gift for foreseeing things, she knows Voldemort will return... So you want to do something to warn us..."
"Vohβ" Professor McGonagall's teacup fell to the ground, shattering into several pieces, and the tea spilled all over the floor.
"Don't be too nervous," Dumbledore waved his hand, and the teacup returned to the table in good condition, and the tea on the floor was gone.
"Maybe it's all just a coincidence?"
