Chapter 286: S-300 System

In later generations, the S-300 system became famous and has always been talked about by military fans, but if you want to talk about its origin, I am afraid that not many people know it.

If you want to say that it became famous, it was in the nineties, however, its development began in the sixties.

It was in the sixties that the United States began to plan a three-dimensional integrated air strike combination consisting of cruise missiles, low-altitude penetration bombers, and theater ballistic missiles. In the past, it was only necessary to prevent enemy aircraft from penetrating from high-altitude supersonic speeds, but now high-altitude ballistic missiles, low-altitude and ultra-low-altitude supersonic fighters and cruise missiles have become the main threat.

In this case, the original Soviet S-75 anti-aircraft missile systems and Vega S-200 anti-aircraft missile systems were no longer able to meet the needs of the homeland's air defense.

(i.e. SAM-2 and SAM-5 systems)

The Soviet military decided to replace them with a new, more advanced air defense system. After repeated studies, they believe that it is necessary to develop a field surface-to-air missile weapon system that is common to anti-tactical ballistic missiles and anti-cruise missiles, and anti-missiles and anti-aircraft, and requires this surface-to-air missile system to have all-airspace combat capability, better maneuverability to improve survivability and concealment, and stronger electronic countermeasure capability; this is the prototype of the S-300 air defense missile, whereas in the past, ground-to-air missiles were only anti-aircraft.

In 65, the Soviet Science and Technology Committee and the Third Research Institute of the Army Rocket and Artillery Headquarters jointly formulated the "Common Anti-Tactical Ballistic Missile and Anti-Cruise Missile,

Anti-missile and anti-aircraft universal surface-to-air missile weapon system" tactical technology development task book. Two years later, the project was officially approved.

However, it was too difficult to intercept ballistic missiles, the technology completely exceeded the level of the Soviet Union, and in the end, it was decided to reduce the difficulty and only have the anti-missile capability of the theater, so that the common anti-aircraft missile system of the three armed services was developed on the premise of the principle of generalization, and named the S-300 system.

From 1967 to 1970, the S-300 prototype was developed by the Central Design Bureau of Diamond, and at this time, it took ten years, until 77, and the first model of this system was considered to be equipped with troops.

The initial missile was only equipped with a 9M83 missile, which had a range of only 40 kilometers when dealing with incoming ballistic missiles, and as high as 100 kilometers when dealing with aircraft. (Another way of saying it is 75 km.) )

In the eyes of the Soviets, this range was too short, just look at the later generations, after continuous development, the new missile, the range has reached 400 kilometers, which is definitely a perverted number.

Even if it's only a hundred kilometers now, it's scary, what does that mean?

Anti-aircraft missiles, in general, are passive defensive weapons, but now, they have become a terrible offensive killing weapon!

The Nemuro Strait is less than 70 kilometers wide at its widest point, and now, the launch position here is only 50 kilometers from Rausu on the opposite side, so as long as this anti-aircraft missile position is deployed here, it can protect the sky of Rajiu, and any plane that comes here will be horribly shot!

This is a complete set of launch companies, on the top of this mountain, in fact, it is just a high hillside, just open their position, here you can see the surrounding scene at a glance, there will be no omission, and it will not be blocked by mountains and rocks, as for whether it is possible to be attacked, it is dangerous at a distance of 100 kilometers, what planes can fly over and attack it?

On the top of the hill is the command company, a command company, which can carry out target designation and assignment of 4 launch companies, and exercise command and control.

Two of the firing companies, right next to the command company, and the other two, were located at the foot of the mountain.

Each launch company includes 1 guidance and tracking radar, 6 irradiation launch vehicles, 6 launch loading vehicles, and a certain number of missiles. In later generations, the firing company could be composed of either a mixed or a single fire unit. For example, each launch company is equipped with 4 9M83 launchers and 2 9M 82 launchers, or 6 are 9 M 83 launchers, and now, since there is only one missile, they are all large 9M83 missiles.

One launch company with 6 launch vehicles, so that the entire air defense position can simultaneously launch 24 missiles and attack 24 targets!

How many planes can the other party come at the same time? A few hundred are not afraid, because of the advantage in range, they can strike in batches.

This missile system, the jewel of the Soviet Union, is still absolutely secretive, and it was not until several years later that the Americans discovered its existence and then named it the SAM-12 missile.

And now, it has opened its mouth, ready to devour any aircraft and missiles that may be close to it, no matter what the target, as long as it is flying, it is within its strike range!

In order to protect this missile position, on its outer side, there is also the SAM-6 anti-aircraft missile position, and any aircraft that enters here will be hit mercilessly.

The entire missile base is like a hedgehog, unless the Americans use medium-range ballistic missiles, they can destroy it, yes, only medium-range ballistic missiles will do, and short-range missiles will be directly killed by them.

At this time, the two main search radars were shut down.

A powerful system is naturally inseparable from a powerful radar.

The entire S-300 system has two sets of radars, of which the ring search radar codenamed 9S15MT is a three-coordinate phased array radar, which is mainly used to search for aircraft targets. With an operating range of 250 kilometers, it can detect 200 targets and track 75 targets.

The other is a sector search radar codenamed 9S19MT, which is also a three-coordinate phased array radar, which is mainly used to search for tactical ballistic missiles. Sector search shortens the time it takes to detect and track tactical ballistic missiles, allowing for stable surveillance of incoming ballistic missile tracks.

But now, they are not turning on the radar system, because the time is not yet right.

Since it is a secret weapon, of course, it must be fatal with one blow and give the enemy the biggest blow!

Not only the four northern islands, but even the Nemuro Strait, are Soviet! As long as the planes of the Americans dare to come, knock them down! By guaranteeing air security in the Nemuro Strait, it is possible to guarantee the combat of ground forces.

It is enough to rely on the army itself, and there is no need for the air force and air defense forces to add to the chaos.

If you don't turn on the radar, how can you find the target?

The human eye, of course! The human eye is the most reliable.
