Chapter 150: Type 81
Originally, I still insisted that the soldiers of the training regiment be able to observe the coordinates, after all, this is very good for infantry and artillery coordination. It is important to know that the coordination between infantry and artillery on the battlefield, especially the paratroopers, who often have to guide the coordinates of their artillery when they are parachuted into the enemy's rear to fight, and the heavy mortars carried by the airborne troops themselves often need artillery observers to indicate their targets.
In addition, fighters are often fleeting, and if the opportunity to strike the enemy is lost because no one will observe the target, and even the whole battle will be affected, then the consequences are not just regrets or regrets.
But I think about it seriously and think it's not realistic, you must know that when we were training in the synthetic camp, it was more than half of the talents who were eliminated and finally completed the training of several companies. Our synthetic battalion has the conditions to eliminate so many people, and if we need new soldiers, we can go to the 40th Division at any time to pick them up, but we are training a regiment now.
Let's talk about our battalion, even if we eliminate a large number of soldiers, the number of soldiers needed is still limited, and there is a division of reserve soldiers ready behind, so we don't need to worry about anything at all. But now it is a regiment, and the training mode of this regiment is likely to be extended to the whole army, so if it is also eliminated in large quantities like our synthetic battalion...... I'm afraid that it will not be enough to pull a few troops over and prepare them in the back.
Taking one point into consideration, after careful discussion with Zhao Jingping and others, I felt that this aspect could be relaxed.
What's more, many infantry are useless even if they learn to observe coordinates...... They are not equipped with communication equipment, which means that they cannot transmit the observed and calculated coordinates to the artillery units in a timely manner. So it's a skill they don't need to master.
Of course, our synthetic battalion is an exception, and this is not to say that the airborne troops are inferior to us or that they cannot get so much communication equipment, but because the composite battalion has fewer people and more airborne troops, and now our country is still poor and white, and it is impossible to equip other units with communications equipment at a high density like the synthetic battalion.
However, this does not mean that we do not require the airborne troops to master the ability to observe targets, which is the basis for infantry and artillery coordination, and it is far from enough to rely only on artillery observers and artillery units to coordinate with artillery units on the battlefield.
The solution is to require cadres to master, not to mention what company commanders and platoon commanders are, the requirements are very simple, if they cannot skillfully master the ability to indicate targets for artillery. Then let someone else be the company and platoon commander. The squad leader has the same requirements. And which squad leader has a good grasp of this, then once the platoon commander is sacrificed on the battlefield, he will be given priority as a replacement for the platoon commander.
In fact, this is also the reason why the superiors want to stipulate that "soldiers cannot be promoted", that is, they did not go to the military academy to study and study. Acquire some necessary military knowledge. This is indeed not suitable for being a cadre in the army.
Of course. There is one exception to this troop rule, and that is the sniper company.
As a sniper, it is necessary to master the observation of the target and be able to coordinate with the artillery. Because snipers don't just snipe targets, many times they also take on the task of lurking, observing, and providing intelligence to the rear. What's more, as a sniper, his weapons are not limited to rifles, accurately directing artillery fire to blow up the target or using artillery fire to scare the target out of the woods or grass, these are all sniper tactics.
So this point is not negotiable in the sniper company, and it is still necessary to learn the observation target without falling.
It's just that this doesn't seem to be too difficult for the sniper company, because the people we have drawn up to form the sniper company are all excellent "sharpshooters" of various units, and as a "sharpshooter", most of them have a hand in distance, numbers, or calculations. There was even a unit of "sharpshooters" who understood the importance of coordinating with artillery as a "sharpshooter" when they were on the battlefield, so they independently learned to observe the target.
In fact, the coordination between snipers and artillery is not very complicated, and the observation of targets does not need to be as accurate as that of artillery observers, because they often lie in one place on the battlefield and do not move, and try not to be exposed, and basically have no conditions to set up a steering wheel to measure the angle. Therefore, what they have to learn is the estimation method, that is, to estimate the coordinates of the target as much as possible with the telescope, and then guide the artillery fire into an accurate position after the artillery test firing.
I tossed back and forth like this for more than a month, practicing during the day and at night...... This also allowed me to see the intensity of the training of the Airborne Forces, sleeping only four or five hours a day, and running on the training ground in addition to eating and sleeping.
At first, I thought it was my superiors, because we were required to complete the formation of the training regiment and form combat effectiveness in the shortest possible time...... This is because the planned big exercise will start in a few months, and the Airborne Forces responsible for playing the role of the Blue Army do not have the appearance of the Blue Army at all, if we use this Airborne Force, which is only a parachute infantry and its firepower is even weaker than ordinary troops, to play the Blue Army, then it is impossible to say!
So this time is quite short, and I think it is precisely because of this training group that they practice hard.
However, when I asked Regiment Commander Wu, I learned that the airborne troops usually practiced in this way, and it can even be said that it is even easier than usual now, because they usually practice high-intensity physical fitness, such as 150 push-ups before going to bed, stretching out their arms and holding two bricks to run around the camp twice, and so on, and now except for the five-kilometer cross-country in the morning, all other training has been canceled, and it has been replaced by highly technical coordinated training and adaptation to new equipment.
It is no wonder that the airborne troops have always hoped to make up for the lack of equipment with individual soldiers, so it is normal to pay close attention to physical fitness and willpower, that is, the spirit of not being afraid of hardship or tiredness. However, physical and mental things, while important, can sometimes never make up for the lack of equipment.
This point is especially prominent in modern warfare, and some countries have a strong will to fight, and their fighting spirit cannot be said to be tenacious, they are riding a motorcycle loaded with bombs to rush the enemy's tanks, but in the end they still cannot avoid defeat.
Therefore, sometimes, as depicted in movies and television, all those who are righteous and have a tenacious fighting spirit can win in the end and justice can be served...... This is militarily dangerous, because war is only reality, naked reality.
Fortunately, at this time, our country's army has moved out of the idea that it can defeat the enemy by relying only on spirit, and is now moving step by step in the right direction, that is, towards a modern army.
Of course, it was impossible for the training team to be completely reborn into what I expected after more than a month of training. As I said before, the old tactical thinking has been ingrained in their heads for many years, and it is not possible to completely transform them in a short period of time, it will take a long period of training.
But this more than a month of training has at least made them understand one thing: that is, the goal of war is to win, not to fight brute force without fear of sacrifice!
For example, if they encountered a difficult firepower point, they would form a demolition team without thinking about it, and then take the blasting canister and explosives bag under the cover of their comrades.
But then again, it makes sense that they didn't think about using other arms to work together to solve the problem.
Mortar? Because of the transport capacity and carrying capacity, there are not many in the whole battalion, and there are not many shells in the whole battalion, and these shells still have to be prepared for the main attack, and if they encounter a fire point on the way, they must be solved with mortars? So what about letting the main attack?
Recoilless guns faced a similar problem, as for snipers and helicopters, they didn't have them at all before, and they were still 56 and a half at that time!
So don't think about it, hold the explosives bag, if it's better, it's to rush with a bazooka, but the range of the bazooka is only 300 meters, and there is a large wind deviation, if you don't rush to about 200 meters, I'm afraid you won't be able to hit the target.
But to rush into two hundred meters...... Today, when the AK47 has a range of more than 300 meters, whether it can be rushed or not can only be said to depend on luck.
By now, they have a lot of options.
First of all, the mortar shells are not so tight, and they are even equipped with heavy mortars, which is undoubtedly a good choice for hitting the kind of open-air machine gun forts or firing points in trench fortifications.
If the firepower is a pillbox, then you can choose a recoilless gun, a Red Sword 73 anti-tank missile, a sniper or even a few Type 81 rifles on special terrain.
This is because the accuracy and firepower of the Type 81 are greatly improved compared with the 56 and a half and Type 56 submachine guns used by our army before, and in special terrain, if the fighters have the conditions to use the terrain cover to rush into the range of more than 100 meters of the fire point, then the two Type 81 with alternate fire can suppress the gun hole of the enemy's pillbox and make it impossible to shoot.
This is also the reason why the Type 81 is very popular with fighters as soon as it is equipped with the Airborne Forces...... This thing has both a 56 and a half range and 56 punch firepower, so it's strange if you don't like it.
Of course, this would have to exclude those of us who are already equipped with AK74s.
Even Regiment Commander Wu couldn't put down this gun, and even he, the regiment commander, took the Type 81 to the shooting range to train with the soldiers.
After practice, he often came to me with a gun and exclaimed: "Alas! There would still be this gun, if this thing had come out a few years earlier and used it in a counterattack, then our friendly troops would not have such a big casualty! ”
I just smiled when I heard this, this wish is good, but Captain Wu reversed the cause and effect of the matter...... If it weren't for the heavy casualties of the anti-war, I'm afraid that our army would still be stagnant! (To be continued......)
