Chapter 18: The Nature of a Sorcerer
Some people come out with their own laughter, some people appear with BGM, and some people don't think BGM is enjoyable, so they simply carry the stereo themselves.
But the tall black-haired witch in front of her, dressed in emerald green robes, didn't have any bells and whistles, and she came with a cold wind blowing in her face.
There was silence all around, and no one dared to speak among the little wizards who were complaining just now.
Professor McGonagall, one of the Weasley brothers' fears the most, pursed her lips with a serious expression.
"First-year freshman, Professor McGonagall." Hagrid avoided the witch's gaze and said quickly.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I'll pick it up here. β
Hagrid gave William a good luck look and hurriedly turned around and walked in from the other side.
It seemed that he was also panicking.
Can you not be scared?!
Hagrid used magic illegally many times during the summer vacation, and secretly bought a three-headed dog banned by the Ministry of Magic...... Now is the time to be a thief.
Even if McGonagall was still his elementary school girl!
Professor McGonagall opened the door wide, revealing a sumptuous marble staircase leading upstairs, surrounded by flaming torches on the stone walls and ceilings so high that they could barely be seen.
First-year students followed Professor McGonagall down the stone floor, and the buzzing of hundreds of people could be heard through the door on the right.
But instead of leading them directly into the hall, Professor McGonagall turned a corner and walked to the other side of the hall, in a small, empty room.
Everyone rushed in, huddled together, nervously and carefully gazing at everything around them.
"First of all, welcome to Hogwarts." Professor McGonagall spoke, "The opening party is about to begin, but before you get to the dining room, I want you all to determine which house you are going to enter. β
"Sorting is an important ritual because during your time at school, the house is like your home at Hogwarts.
You will have to attend classes with other students in the college, live in the dormitory of the college together, and spend your spare time together in the common room of the college. β
"The names of the four houses are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each academy has its own glorious history and has produced outstanding witches and wizards.
Your outstanding performance during your time at Hogwarts will result in extra points for your house, while any violation will result in a loss of points for your house.
At the end of the year, the college with the highest score can receive the House Cup, which is a high honor.
I hope that you, no matter which house you are assigned to, will be able to bring glory to the college, instead of being naughty all day long! β
Professor McGonagall spoke the last few words, and glanced at William.
Through those stern eyes, William felt as if the other party knew what was going on on the train.
His instincts have always been accurate!
However, he can only be regarded as the most inconspicuous of the many accomplices.
Compared to the Weasley brothers, the main criminals who are guilty of the most heinous crimes, and the sniffer, William is not worth mentioning at all!
He comforted his young, fragile heart.
Fortunately, McGonagall only glanced at William, and did not sneak him out and criticize him in public.
William wiped the sweat from his forehead, he felt that if his heart was poor, he would probably be scared to cry directly, right?
Worthy of Professor McGonagall!
"In a few minutes, the sorting ceremony will be held in front of all the teachers and students of the school, and I suggest you relieve your nervousness."
"I'll pick you up when it's ready." Professor McGonagall turned and walked into the hall, and she turned her head and said, "Please be quiet while you wait." β
But Professor McGonagall had barely left the room, and the crowd began to buzz.
"How can they assign us exactly which house we are going to?" One of the girls looked at William and asked.
The man, Marietta Ekmo, had just huddled in a small boat with William, and he almost took his hand and squeezed into his arms, shivering.
William did not speak, and as a repertoire, he also did not know how to sort the house.
The boy named Cow Mike McLagan on the side boasted, "Don't worry about the test, I'll definitely get in, my uncle ......"
His uncle, Tiberus, knew Rufus Scrimgeour of the Ministry of Magic, who was the head of the Auror Office.
McLagan had repeated this meeting four or five times.
The essence of human beings is a repeater, and wizards are no exception to this.
McLagan also boasted of his flying talent, saying that he would be the youngest ever to join the Quidditch team in his first year.
The boy said, giving William a defiant look.
This gesture probably started when he knew that William was only a Muggle.
William felt his wand and tried to quietly give him a silence charm to lock his noisy mouth, but Professor McGonagall happened to come over.
William immediately pretended to be honest.
So, McLagan suffered, and Professor McGonagall stood behind him like a ghost, and the boy was still chattering about his uncle's friend.
"Don't care about your uncle, you're talking so much nonsense, I'll definitely send you home!" Professor McGonagall said sternly.
McLagan was so frightened that his legs went limp, and he shuddered, nearly knocking Marietta Ekmore over.
The girl gave him a death stare and moved towards William, as if trying to hide in his arms so that he could feel safe.
Autumn was behind Professor McGonagall, wincing at William to seize the opportunity.
Grab a fart chance! William said that he was here to study, not to fall in love!
Of course, if a witch has a good looks, he doesn't mind being a soulmate with the other person!
But Marietta Ekmo, a little girl, definitely doesn't have a chance.
"Ahh
McLagan howled, and it turned out that several ghosts had appeared behind him.
He was so frightened that he couldn't breathe, and the people around him were the same, and the temperature of the whole room seemed to have dropped a few points.
These pearly white, translucent ghosts glided across the room, talking to each other, paying little attention to the first-year students, as if they were arguing about something.
"Hurry up and get Barrow the Bloody back, only he can control Peeves." A ghost in a wheeled collared bodysuit said.
"Bloody Barrow went to Ms. Gray, you know, something went wrong in the Ravenclaw common room lately." A chubby little friar-looking ghost said.
"So let's give Peeves one more chance, as long as he attends the feastβ"
"Absolutely impossible! My good monk, haven't we given Peeves enough chances? But he's smeared us all the time β hey, I said, what are you doing here? β
The ghost in the wheel-shaped ruffled collared bodysuit suddenly found the first-year freshman.
McLagan was so frightened that he quickly hid behind William, which made Professor McGonagall's pursed lips tighter.
"New life!" The chubby monk smiled at them. "I guess you're going to get tested, right?"
William nodded kindly.
"Hopefully you'll get a Hufflepuff!" The monk said, "I used to attend that college. β
The ghosts walked down the hall and fluttered across the opposite wall vanished, and Professor McGonagall's voice rang out again.
"Now move forward, the sorting ceremony is about to begin." Professor McGonagall said to the first-year students.
Everyone honestly walked towards the hall.
ββββββI'm the separator for the repeaterββββ
In order to implore you for your recommendation votes, McLagan will repeat it a hundred times when he is in the sorting house.
