Chapter 53: Buried Bones
"Hey!" Mei Renhou resolutely said, "Let's go back." Your body matters. You have money, power, and popularity; You're happier than anyone else. You have to have three long and two short, who can stand it. I don't care anyway. Let's go back, I can't afford to be sick with you. Besides, you still have the fourth aunt's wife......"
"Don't say it, like a girl," Wang Mingxuan said, "What is this cough, and you can't die if you cough." I'm not going to cough up. β
"Yes, yes!" I replied, "Seriously, I didn't mean to scare you, there's no need for that, but you have to be careful." Drink some 10-year-old sorghum wine to warm up, so trendy. β
As soon as the words fell, Mei Renhou took a bottle from the long wine jar on the muddy floor, and opened it with the aroma of wine.
"Drink." With that, Mei Renhou handed him the wine.
Wang Mingxuan glanced at Mei Renhou and raised the wine jar to his lips. He stopped and nodded kindly at Mei Renhou.
"a jar." He said.
"Cheers to your longevity." Mei Renhou said.
After drinking, Wang Mingxuan hung up Mei Renhou's arm again and continued to move forward.
"The cellar is so big." He said.
"Our family is also a big family, but it has fallen in my generation." Mei Renhou replied.
After drinking, Wang Mingxuan's eyes sparkled. They walked through long, narrow passages mixed with large and small jars and entered the most secret places.
Mei Renhou stood up again.
"Saltpeter!" Mei Renhou said, "Look, there are more and more. Like moss hanging from the vault. We're under the riverbed. The droplets of water dripped into the bones. Come on, let's go back as soon as possible. You cough ......."
"Nothing," he said, "and go on, for you may have not only good wine, but also gold, silver, and jewelry." β
Mei Renhou opened another jar of 15-year-old sorghum wine and handed it to him. He drank half of the jar in one go, and his eyes suddenly lit up. Wang Mingxuan laughed and threw the wine bottle up, and made a gesture, but Mei Renhou didn't understand the meaning of the gesture.
Mei Renhou looked at him in surprise. He repeated that gestureβa strange gesture.
"You don't understand?"
"I don't understand."
"Then you're not a fellow believer."
"How?"
"You're not a brother."
"I am, I am!"
"You? No way! You are? β
"Yes." May replied.
"Cipher," he said, "cipher." β
"This is it!" Mei Renhou replied as he pulled out a mason's brick knife from under the folds of his short cloak.
"Just kidding!" Wang Mingxuan screamed and took a few steps back, but quickly recognized the plasterer's tool, and then continued disapprovingly, "Let's go forward and see your precious old wine." β
"All right," said Mei Renhou, and then put the brick knife back under the cloak and stretched out his arm to support him. He leaned heavily against May's arm.
And so, they went on their way to find the legendary best wine. Passing through a row of low arcades, going down, going straight, and going down again, they reached a deep crypt. The air here was so foul that the flames of the torches were extinguished, and they could only burn faintly.
At the farthest end of the crypt lies an even smaller crypt, with rows of bones piled up to the vault overhead, just like the legendary Nether Tomb.
The three walls are like this, and the bones are strewn. There was also a wall where the bones had fallen and were piled up on the ground, all of which had become a rather large pile of bones. The wall where the bones had fallen was exposed.
They found that there was also a crypt, or alcove, inside. It was about three or four feet long, and it seemed that it was not built for any particular purpose, but only a gap between the two pillars that supported the top of the catacomb, but it was backed by a solid granite wall, and carved out of one of the walls of the catacomb.
Wang Mingxuan held the dim torch and tried his best to look carefully into the depths of the alcove, but his efforts were in vain, the fire was faint, and he couldn't see the bottom at all.
"Go ahead, good wine is leading," Mei Renhou said.
"Good things are hidden in places that people can't see," Wang Mingxuan interrupted him as he staggered forward.
Mei followed right behind his ass. In the blink of an eye, he was at the innermost part of the alcove.
Seeing that the road ahead was blocked by rocks, he stood there stupidly at a loss. In a few moments, Mei Renhou had already cuffed him to the granite.
The granite walls are fitted with two iron rings, spaced about two feet apart, one with a short iron chain and the other with a padlock.
Within seconds, Mei Renhou tied him to the waist with iron chains. He was so frightened that he forgot to resist.
Mei Renhou pulled out the key and exited the alcove.
"Reach out and touch the wall," said Mei Renhou, "and you can touch saltpeter at once." It's really wet. Didn't I tell you, should I go back? Don't go back? Then I'm going to have to leave you. Before I go, I'll have to take care of you as much as I can. β
Wang Mingxuan was shocked and shouted: "Wine!" β
"Yes," I replied, "here is good wine, good wine made from the bones of the dead." β
Saying this, Mei Renhou was busy in the pile of bones.
He set aside the bones, and soon he had picked up a lot of stones and plaster for building the walls. With these materials and the brick knife, he energetically built a wall at the entrance to the alcove.
Before the first floor was built, he found that Wang Mingxuan's drunkenness had almost disappeared.
I said this because of a faint moan coming from the depths of the alcove. This is a sign that he is sober. It didn't seem like it came from the mouth of a drunkard.
Immediately afterward, there was a long period of high silence. He built the second, third, fourth. Then I heard the sound of frantically shaking the chains, which lasted for several minutes.
In order to listen more satisfactorily, he simply stopped what he was doing and sat down on the bones. When the jingle finally subsided, he picked up the brick knife again and built the fifth, sixth, and seventh layers in one go.
The walls were almost chest-high by now. He stopped again and raised the torch over the stone wall. A few faint lines of fire shone on the figures inside.
Suddenly, the chained figure let out a long scream, as if desperately trying to scare him away.
For a moment, Mei Renhou hesitated and trembled, but immediately pulled out his waist knife and began to grope with it in the alcove; But when he thought about it, he was relieved again.
The tomb was sturdy, and he put his hand on it, satisfied.
Mei Renhou approached the wall again, and the locked man shouted loudly, and he also shouted loudly. He shouted, Mei Yinghe, screamed louder than him, and was full of confidence.
When he screamed, the locked people became dumb.
It was midnight, and Mei Renhou was almost finished. The eighth, ninth, and tenth floors have all been built. The last layer, the eighteenth, is pretty much the same, just fill in the last stone and apply the last plaster.
He desperately picked up the last stone and put a corner of it where it should be. Unexpectedly, there was a low laugh in the alcove, which frightened his hair to stand on end. After the laughter, it was a poignant voice, and it was easy for him to hear that it was Wang Mingxuan calling.
I can only hear, "Ha! Ha! Ha! It's amazing. When we get back to the feast, we will have to laugh. Hey! Hey! Hey! - Laughing while drinking - Hey! Hey! Hey! β
"Twenty years old," Mei Renhou said.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! - Hey! Hey! Hey!. Is it too late? They have waited so long, are they still waiting for us? Let's go. β
"Yes," I said, "let's go." β
"For brother's sake, let's have another bottle!"
"Yes," I said, "who is with whom we brothers!" β
But after saying this, I couldn't hear an answer. Mei Renhou gradually became impatient, and shouted loudly-
"Wang Mingxuan, you dog offal!"
No one answered. Mei Renhou shouted again-
"Wang Mingxuan, are you dead!"
Still no one answered. Mei Renhou shoved the torch into the hole in the wall that had not yet been built.
The torch fell inside, and the jingle of bells was heard.
Mei Renhou felt uncomfortable. This is due to the dampness of the tombs.
Mei Renhou hurriedly finished the rest of the work. He stuffed the last stone and plastered it. Then close to the new wall, pile up the original pile of bones.
