Chapter 80: Correspondents

With the destruction of the Vietnamese T62, the Vietnamese army lost the pillar that broke through our defense line in a short time, so the war developed smoothly as we planned......

We quickly blasted a gap in the office building's tunnels...... To be exact, there should be two gaps, because the gap exploded in the middle of the tunnel and collapsed down in the middle...... It revealed two tunnel openings, one on the left and one on the right.

These two tunnel crossings are not large, but because the Vietnamese army is defenseless on these two tunnel crossings...... They didn't know that the tunnel had already made people move, so they couldn't prevent it.

So the fighters first threw a few grenades into the tunnel...... After a bang, he rushed inside with a gun......

You must know that these soldiers under our army have rich experience in entering the tunnels to fight the Vietnamese army, and we also have insufficient training for this...... This training was mainly before we went to Afghanistan, when our enemy was the Viet Nak, and a considerable part of the Viet Nak were hiding in the tunnels, so we had a lot of tactical training for tunnel operations.

For example, lighting in tunnel operations...... We used to use a flashlight and a gun in the other, or use both hands to hold the gun while playing the flashlight, this lighting method is okay if you don't shoot, the recoil will make people unstable when you shoot, and the shooting accuracy will also be greatly affected!

And this method of combat is still quite dangerous, for example, if suddenly a Vietnamese soldier pounces on him from around the corner and engages in hand-to-hand combat...... At this time, the hand that could have pulled out the military thorn didn't know what to do because he grabbed the flashlight!

The solution to this problem is simple, which is to tie a flashlight to the barrel...... Although this will make the front end of the rifle heavier, it will not only illuminate but also completely free the hands. For the deep trench operation of the Vietnamese army, it can be said that it is a tactic that kills one stone!

Of course. This tactic is something I came up with. But it's not my credit...... There are too many such shots in modern movies and television, and when the special forces fight at night, they are all guns with lighting on the barrels! I'm just borrowing flowers to offer Buddha!

On the other hand, we also know that fighting grenades in tunnels is a very necessary equipment...... The grenade mentioned here is not the kind of grenade that our army is equipped with, but the kind of melon-type grenade that the Vietnamese army is equipped with.

I won't go into more detail about the reasons here......

One of the reasons why grenades are irreplaceable in tunnel warfare is that they are a confined space, and there is basically no place to escape...... The grenade was thrown inside, no matter what kind of cow, ghost, snake, and god the one at the corner of the pit was. With a "boom", it was all blown up and there was no ability to resist!

But that's not why we have to use melon-style grenades, because this can also be done with our army's grenades!

The disadvantage of the grenade is that it is too heavy to carry, and it is more suitable for grabbing a wooden handle and throwing it violently, and its trajectory is a parabola...... But this action is obviously not suitable for doing in the tunnel, which is so high...... How far can you throw it? If you push too hard, you might hit something and bounce back and blow yourself up.

The melon-style grenade does not have these drawbacks...... Its spherical shape and small size make it ideal for use in a narrow space like a tunnel, and you can throw it into it...... This thing will "tick" out of the distance...... You can even use it to play "bounce" bombs sometimes!

It is precisely because of these benefits of the melon grenade that we specifically use it in pit training...... It is not difficult to equip these melon-style grenades, the more devils have more in their hands, and a few battles with the more devils can capture a batch of these grenades.

And the grenade is not a high-tech thing, and at this time our army's arsenal has already copied it. That is, the Type 79 rocket grenade that we are using now......

This thing was only finalized in December '79, and it had just been put into mass production for a short time...... It will first equip our troops. That's where it comes in!

So the soldiers threw grenades all the way and attacked inside, without giving the Vietnamese army any time and opportunity to react, and it took less than ten minutes to take down the underground building of the Vietnamese army, and then dragged out the two communicators who were covered in blood......

The reason why "drag" is used...... It's because this tunnel is too narrow, and the correspondent basically can't walk, so he can only drag one forward and push the other back, and force the correspondent out!

The process of rescuing the correspondent was not so smooth either...... The two correspondents were said to have been locked up in a room in the tunnel, when the Liang Company soldiers rushed in with two soldiers...... It was found that a Vietnamese soldier was blocking the front with the body of a communicator, and shouted something at several soldiers of Liang Lian, as if he wanted to threaten the soldiers to lay down their weapons with the life of the communicator......

To say that this Vietnamese soldier is really stupid, or rather, he was frightened by such a fast movement of the soldiers, and even did such a stupid thing...... Even if we are comrades-in-arms with the correspondents, even if we can read the feelings of comrades-in-arms, it is impossible to obediently put down our guns on the battlefield because our comrades-in-arms are threatened......

Otherwise...... Don't fight this battle, just take a few prisoners and use them to threaten the enemy!

Where would Liang Lianbing pay attention to his set, and pull the trigger without thinking about it...... The bullet grazed the communicator's neck and hit the Vietnamese soldier hiding behind him, and later the correspondent even left a bloody mark on his neck!

For this matter, I asked Liang Lianbing...... "You really have that confidence in your marksmanship, so you can hit the target?!" ”

"Battalion commander...... What is that? Liang Lianbing raised his head and replied: "At that time, I didn't have any self-confidence at all...... What is on my mind is ...... If you kill you, you will kill you, anyway, the task that the superiors asked us to complete...... Not to rescue the correspondents, but to shut them up! This shot...... It's not that I'm playing well, it's that guy is lucky! ”

I couldn't help but be stunned when I heard this...... I can't see that this Liang Lianbing is really fucking ruthless!

Actually, this is not surprising, the reason is the feelings of the fighters...... It's more about the fighters in your own troops, and the fighters of other troops...... According to propaganda, they are indeed comrades, all revolutionary soldiers, but it doesn't matter if they are not familiar with each other, why should we sacrifice ourselves to save them!

So...... The soldiers saw that there were casualties in the synthetic battalion, especially Xu Guochun and his carload of people who fought for their lives in order to kill the T62, so they were all resentful!

With this resentment...... It's no surprise that they don't hesitate to shoot in such situations!

After receiving the news of the rescue of the communicator...... I immediately gave the order to retreat......

At this time, the Vietnamese agents seemed to have learned that we had successfully rescued the two correspondents...... This is a great shame for them, you must know that they are also a company of agents, and there are several companies of agents that can almost be said to be impassable, but they give us such an easy ...... It only took 20 minutes to get the man out of the country......

Of course, this battle will not be easy for us, but if this matter gets out of the way...... It's still enough to make these Vietnamese agents lose face!

Face this thing...... For an individual, there is no need to be overly careful, but for an army...... Another meaning of face is honor, and this face often directly determines the fate of these troops in the future!

For example, the units of our army...... Those troops that have been dismantled in the great disarmament, the number of the number...... Don't think about it, most of them are because they have had disgraceful battles on the battlefield, or their combat effectiveness has been questioned by their superiors.

So...... The previous battle was over because we had two communicators, and even if we hadn't had time to send them away at this time, we had achieved our strategic goal.

Now the battle ...... It is because the Vietnamese army wants to regain their face, which can also be said to be their honor...... This is perhaps more important to the Vietnamese army than two correspondents, and certainly more important than their lives!

So the Vietnamese army could no longer care about anything, and roared and charged from all sides towards the position we were defending.

But by this time it was too late......

At the moment when our troops stormed the underground structure of the office building...... We were ready to retreat......

The first was the landing of several helicopters in the open space between the buildings...... Because of the limited open space, we were only able to land five helicopters at a time, but that was enough for us...... The helicopter has basically run out of ammunition at this time, so there is no problem of overweight at all, which means that the cabin can be loaded as many people as possible with as much space as possible.

So one helicopter can hold fifteen people, and five helicopters can hold seventy-five people...... A few more helicopters will be landed, and they will all be gone!

The first to evacuate, of course, were the raiders of the office building, and not just because they had the objectives of our mission...... Two correspondents, and because the outer buildings still need to resist for a while at this time, otherwise no one will be able to evacuate!

The retreating troops were the troops from the outlying buildings...... It was a bit of trouble for them to retreat, because it was very likely that the Vietnamese army would follow in the footsteps of our retreat......

At that time, if our helicopters had not had time to climb high...... The result was also devastating, and it seemed that the Vietnamese army only needed to shoot a bullet into the side of our helicopter to inflict heavy casualties! (To be continued......)
