Chapter 123: Fight and retreat Garnett

27 February 1998.

The Lakers are back in Minnesota for their fourth meeting with the Timberwolves this season.

In the first three games, the Lakers were 2-1, but that loss made many experts think that the Timberwolves are capable enough to beat the Lakers.

Under the advocacy of experts, Garnett is an omnipotent existence, he can easily break the Lakers' power forward position, dominate the game in both offensive and defensive stages, and finally end the Lakers' winning streak.

Garnett teamed up with Kobe Bryant to defeat the Eastern Conference All-Star team after being named to the All-Star pick. In that game, Garnett was the third man on the team, and his performance on both offensive and defensive ends left a lot of superstars deflated, and without Garnett, there would be no victory in that game.

People finally realized how powerful the No. 5 show in 1995 in faraway Minnesota really was!

As a power forward, Garnett's defense runs through the entire three-point line. He can even pull outside the three-point line to chase down defenders.

On the offensive end, Garnett's iron-blooded jump shot also left many blue-collar workers without a good way to defend.

It's too high!

Kevin Garnett, who is 2.16 meters tall, looks like a tall tower! It became incredibly difficult to defend his shots.

That is, Garnett is not on the offensive! If he had put all his energy and training into the offensive end, he might have been as unsolvable as KD's offensive killer!

Garnett, the Wolf King! Hailed by experts as the only man who can end the Lakers' winning streak!

Flatter!

For the first time, Garnett felt the media touting!

As many people support the Lakers, there are as many people as they stand on the opposite side of the Lakers!

And the touting of these people instantly brought Garnett's fame in the public opinion segment to a peak!

"Bag clip Kobe! Stanley and I got Shaq! ”

Before the game, Garnett patted his chest with confidence!

Recently, he has listened to a lot of comments from experts who believe that the Lakers have only two enemies on this team. One Kobe, one O'Neal.

The other players are not good at all!

As long as you get rid of Kobe and O'Neal, this Lakers will collapse!

Garnett thought so!

So he repeatedly asked head coach Philip Saunders that this game must be arranged in this way.

The old handsome Sanders smiled bitterly.

He didn't know the theories advocated by many experts recently, and these sensationalist theories could make Garnett, who felt the media advocate for the first time, fool him, and the old handsome Sanders knew that it was all fart!

So many shooters for the Lakers! You give OK a double bag clip, that's not a send?

But he couldn't resist Garnett's request, and the example of the madman Sprewell was right in front of him. Now the league coach is at a time when everyone is at risk.

The old coach Saunders knows that Garnett is still very good, and he knows that he respects the coach of a player. But he was not willing to force Garnett and make him dissatisfied.

"That's it, that's it. Let's just feel it for yourself, so you can understand how outrageous the analysis of those bullshit experts is. ”

And so a crazy game was staged!

Kobe Bryant's first shot into the interior didn't feel right, Horry and Bowen were directly emptied, and all the defense was focused on himself and O'Neal.

Interesting!

Kobe Bryant didn't think about it, and the long eyes in the back of his head generally threw the ball behind him.

Horry raises his hand and shoots!

Middle!

Kobe Bryant attracts the bag, and Eddie Jones makes a three-point shot!

Middle!

Bowen three points in the corner!

Again! ~

The Timberwolves gritted their teeth and insisted, under the bombardment of the Lakers' three-point shots, with Garnett's crazy crushing in the face of Horry, they bit the point difference!

The Lakers made 8 three-pointers in a single quarter!

Even so, the Lakers only led by 3 points at 31:28!

Section 2! The OK combination, which didn't make much effort at all, took turns to lead the substitutes.

Old Curry and Mullin are still empty!

It's like they're doing three-point drills, and they're hitting like crazy!

Can't stop the bleeding!

When Garnett realized that such a game was about delivering food.

But the feel of the Lakers' shooters can't be stopped!

"23 threes!"

"The Lakers shot 23 of 47 three-pointers as a team!"

"All-time single-game team three-point record!"

"The Lakers have created a legend again! A miracle! ”

"This is the best three-point team in history! The Lakers players used this game to tell the whole league that they didn't just have OK! ”

"The strongest projection team! Listen up to the Alliance! Never wrap up OK! ”

Garnett's face was green as if he could fry juice!

Careless!

He really didn't expect the Lakers' shooter to be so accurate.

"Kevin, what's going on with your coach, what are the tactics you have arranged?" O'Neal clapped his hands, and he didn't have a good time in this game, 'only' 26 points and 13 rebounds under Garnett's bag.

Garnett played a haha, and in the puzzled eyes of Kobe and O'Neal, he fought and retreated, and ran back to the locker room.

...

"This month's Player of the Month is out."

"Who is it?"

"There is no suspense about whether it is a Lakers player, so is it Kobe Bryant or Shaq?"

"Bryant played an average of 29.7 minutes per game in February, shooting 34.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 3.4 steals, 0.8 blocks and 2.7 turnovers on 52.1% shooting and 43.2% three-point shooting."

Shaq averaged 31.5 minutes per game, shooting 65.3% from the field, with 35.6 points, 16.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.5 blocks, 0.4 steals and 3.1 turnovers.

"It's too strong! In an era when other teams are only averaging around 90 points per game, Kobe Bryant and Shaq can score 70 points together! ”

"The Lakers' average points per game is just as terrifying, averaging 127.5 points per game in a single month! 29.2 assists! THEIR AVERAGE ASSISTS PER GAME ARE ALMOST CATCHING UP WITH THE LAKERS IN THE SHOWTIME ERA, AND SHOWTIME IS ONLY ABOUT 30 ASSISTS! ”

"In a month of data explosion, not only Kobe Bryant and O'Neal, but also the other Lakers players performed gorgeously in this month! Eddie Jones had 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists in a single month, living up to the glory of the All-Star! ”

"Horry averaged 13.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game, as a panacea player for the Lakers, without Horry, I believe this Lakers would be one level weaker!"

"Bowen can shoot 1.2 three-pointers per game with a 38.2% three-point shooting rate, Mullin can shoot 1.8 three-pointers with a 43.5% shooting rate, and Xiaoyu can shoot 1.1 from 37.2% shooting, and the old Curry is even more terrifying! He shot 50.1% from three-point range in a single month and averaged 2.3 three-pointers per game! Their presence makes the opponent completely afraid to wrap up OK! This is also the reason why the Lakers' average points per game exploded! ”

"Three-point frenzy! With OK's offensive containment, the Lakers' shooters found their best form. The Lakers have become the best three-point team in the league and perhaps the best three-point team in history. ”

"Against the Timberwolves, 23 three-pointers in a single game broke the team's single-game three-point record!"

"There's nothing more pleasing to see a basketball fall off the three-point line and into the basket!"
