Chapter 83—Snape's Letter (Part 2)
Legend has it that Snape's most valuable place is his medicine pantry.
No one was allowed to enter the place, and the professor gave the hut back to the hut with the strictest magic to prevent the students from entering.
Someone once attacked the hut at night and stole some potions, when William and Cedric were moving Lowe around.
Professor Snape had returned from Azkaban and had put a few more spells on the hut, but today he had been attacked again.
William was aware of this, and on the day he first fell into the loop, in the meditation basin, he saw Dumbledore's memories, and Professor Snape said that he was fighting with a "self".
Presumably, the professor found out that someone wanted to enter his cabin, and then the battle took place.
The wooden door was closed, and there was a layer of flame on it, and when William got closer, no magic was triggered.
The attacker was supposed to have broken through the defenses, but Professor Snape was taken away by the Ministry of Magic before he could rearrange the magic in the hut.
William glanced around, there was no one in the hallway, he pushed open the door and walked in.
It was a dimly lit room with hundreds of glass bottles on shelves, and slimy specimens of plants and animals floating in colorful potions. A cabinet in the corner was filled with medicinal herbs.
"The flames are blazing."
William flicked his wand a few times and lit the kerosene lamp on the table.
This room is full of regular herbs and the corpses of magical creatures, and it is indeed a treasure trove for brewing potions, but it is not as precious as William imagined.
He was slightly disappointed.
William's attention was quickly drawn to the desk, where there was a bunch of keys.
"The key to the office?" William thought for a moment and picked up the key.
Underneath the key was a note scrawled on: Professor Dumbledore helped me keep it.
If it was a particularly precious key, Professor Snape really didn't want to take it to Azkaban.
William searched around and found an old chest in the corner.
There was a large lock on the chest, and William compared it and saw that it was the keyhole.
Although it is not a good habit to secretly open other people's boxes, William is now in a time loop, and no one will find out.
Soon, his curiosity suppressed his inner discipline.
Actually, it doesn't matter if there is a curse on the box, anyway, William is seriously injured and will be able to recover tomorrow.
William walked over to the box with seven locks, inserted the first key into the keyhole, and opened the box, revealing a pile of clothes.
He closed the box, inserted the second key into the second lock, and opened it again, and instead of clothes, the box contained various potions textbooks, some parchment, and quills.
William quickly inserted the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth keys into the lock, opening the box, and each time something was different.
Finally, he inserted the seventh key into the lock, and when he lifted the lid, William's pupils shrank.
At the bottom of the box was a room, like a basement, with a ladder hanging about three meters deep.
William climbed down the ladder.
It was a huge room, with an almost identical layout to the outside, with a long corridor on the far right, too dark to see.
There was this kerosene lamp on the table, and when William lit it, the room lit up.
To his left is a pear wood table with a chair in front of it, and on the table, there is a group photograph with a bouquet of lilies.
William picked up the photograph, which could not be moved, he knew that this was the Muggle way of taking pictures.
That is, it was a Muggle who took this picture, but Professor Snape, for some reason, did not use a development potion on this picture, and still preserved the original style.
The photograph is old and has a sense of history: a man and a woman, both about ten years old, are in the background of a playground with almost no people. A large chimney towers out of the sky.
The girl was swinging, and a skinny boy was pushing the swing behind her.
The boy had long black hair, and his clothes were very incongruous, as if they were deliberately dressed like this: a pair of jeans that were too short, a large, long shabby tunic that looked like an adult, and a shirt that looked like a strange maternity dress.
In the corner of the photo, there should be another person, but it was directly torn off.
The boy laughed merrily.
Or maybe it was the first and only time he had laughed so happily.
William recognized it as Professor Snape and the girl named Lily. In Dumbledore's meditation basin, the scene on the train, there are the two of them.
William speculated that it was taken by Lily's parents, as Snape was dressed as a child, not like a family with money to buy a camera.
On the table, there is also an envelope, which is dated April 20th, which is today.
On the envelope, there was no postage stamp, no other marking, just the words: 3,915 days of missing Lily, send it to the girl you love the most.
There was also a piece of paper pressed under the envelope, and because of the obscuration, William could only see the last few lines.
"Lily, Dumbledore told me, 'We're all the same, we're all in pain, our lives, we're all messed up, life is so puzzling.'
But I ...... I'm tired of it for a long time. I have nothing but to be aware of the malice of this world.
It's not the life I want, and I can't go on anymore......"
Professor Snape was supposed to be writing here before he left, but before he finished writing, he heard the sound of an attack at the door, and hurried away.
William opened the drawer of the table, he froze, the whole drawer, it was all envelopes!
Each one of them was written to Lily.
However, none of them were sent.
Because Lily died eleven years ago.
Snape probably really ...... She loved Harry's mother very much, and these letters were the best proof of this.
Such hot feelings, at that moment, William could not even open these letters and read the entire contents.
He sighed slightly, turned and walked out of the room, heading towards the hallway to the right.
