Chapter XXVIII
The training quickly began as planned......
Of course, because we wanted to find a formation method suitable for the straight five changes, the process did not go so smoothly.
First of all, we subtracted one helicopter from the formation, that is, four helicopters in a squad, each with weapons and a certain number of infantry!
It should be said that it would be more lenient to implement this plan with four helicopters...... Because one of our formations is used to carry an infantry platoon, more than 30 fighters are divided into four helicopters, that is, each helicopter only needs to carry seven to eight people, plus we have reduced the individual equipment of the soldiers on a certain distance......
This was not very difficult for the fighters of the secret service company, first of all, because the fighters were not heavy in the first place...... This may be due to the fact that most people do not keep up with their hourly nutrition or have been tempered for a long time...... All of them are only more than 100 catties, but don't underestimate this more than 100 catties, all of them are reinforced and iron.
On this basis, some equipment was reduced, and the number of people was reduced, so the amount of ammunition in the Straight Five Alteration Belt was also larger.
But here's the problem......
Three squads of troops were scattered in four helicopters...... What kind of command is this?
There are only three squad leaders in total...... That is to say, no matter how it is divided, there will be a helicopter on which the soldiers of the other three squads are pieced together, which will lead to a lot of problems...... For example, who will command the soldiers who have put together them, and what if they leave the army in case of an emergency?
That's when I suddenly understood...... It turns out that the Soviets are designed to carry helicopters, armored vehicles, etc., and the reason for their design is usually based on squads and platoons. Isn't it easy to command...... Otherwise, no matter how much we train, there is a high risk that the innate deficiency of the establishment will be forcibly divided, which will cause confusion or slow reaction time...... And this is intolerable for us, the special agent companies, who carry out special tasks.
Just like we trained two days ago...... When conducting combat drills in this mode. The squad that landed first was on another helicopter with members of his own...... As a result, it is not possible to perform the task effectively. Are they used to having ten men in one class...... If they know that these men have been sacrificed, they can still command, but the problem is that they know that these men have not been sacrificed, but they cannot command! So they had to wait...... Wait for all your men to arrive before moving on to the next step!
When retreating, we also faced similar problems, each squad had to divide a few people to make up enough people to board another helicopter!
The General Staff has come up with a feasible solution to this problem...... That is to change the number of students in each class and set the number of students in each class to eight......
This plan seems to be doable, with a squad leader for every eight people...... It was just enough to take a helicopter, and at the same time it solved the problem of command.
But here's the problem...... This completely changed the original firepower configuration of our army...... In the past, our army's firepower configuration was four 56 and a half, two 56 punches, and one bazooka (main and secondary shooters). A squad machine gun (main and secondary machine gunners), so that there are exactly ten people.
Of course, our agent company has long since been useless 56 and a half. Even the 56 punch was thrown aside, and the AK74, which performed much better in all aspects, was used......
If you want to reduce ten people to eight...... That's not impossible, just lose two AK74s!
But it seems like a small move...... But it will have a great impact on the firepower of a squad...... A squad leader has become accustomed to having six submachine guns under his command, and a platoon commander has become accustomed to having eighteen submachine guns under his own command. A company commander is also used to it...... The result was suddenly a third less. This is likely to lead to miscalculation on the battlefield...... They thought that their firepower could completely overwhelm the enemy, but this was not the case.
What's more...... The training of our synthetic battalion is not just for our troops...... If it's just for one of our troops, that's okay...... Let the soldiers practice more and fight more, and it won't take long for them to get used to the firepower ratio in their hands.
However...... We also have another task, which is to provide experience to other units, and even to cooperate with ordinary infantry units on the battlefield...... Is it because of this that we have to change all of our troops of several million men to eight men per squad?
This is obviously impossible...... Everybody knows it's a one-size-fits-all approach.
So I finally gritted my teeth...... The order was given: "The personnel will not be reduced, and the infantry will not be changed...... Each helicopter carries one squad! ”
"Yes!" Zhao Jingping answered, and soon gave an order to Scar via the walkie-talkie!
It has also proved that carrying 10 people per helicopter is the most ideal way to work together...... Although this will slightly exceed the load capacity of the helicopter...... The load of each helicopter is about 1,350 kilograms. More than a hundred kilograms of helicopter load.
This makes the helicopter look a bit clumsy...... This more than 100 kilograms is really nothing if it were for the Soviet Mi-8 or Mi-24, but the power of the Z-5 engine is only 1770 horsepower...... This overload of more than 100 kilograms has quite a considerable impact on such a low-power helicopter!
But I think this sacrifice is necessary......
On the one hand, it is because of the sacrifice of a little flexibility of the helicopter, but the command and coordination have been simplified to a certain extent. This in itself is a kind of sacrificing the small to the big!
On the other hand...... It's because I think the load of the helicopter is variable...... Helicopters are inflexible due to overloading, and most of this time is on the way to the destination, and it is unlikely that they will face a sneak attack from the enemy. After arriving at the battlefield...... Helicopters can be used to reduce weight by abandoning the drop fuel tank or by launching a batch of ammunition in the shortest possible time...... This is very much in line with our operational policy of fighting quickly and withdrawing quickly, not to mention...... Once the infantry is successfully put on the ground, the problem of overweight helicopters is even more extensive!
So after several live-fire exercises...... This kind of training must be a live-fire exercise, but the live-fire is only a helicopter with live ammunition, in order to "weigh the weight" of the helicopter.
How to do the exercise...... It's just after a few helicopters arrive at their destination...... Regardless of the three-seven-twenty-one, the distance is a few rockets and a row of machine guns!
The main purpose is not to destroy any targets, but to make the helicopter more agile after consuming some ammo, and at the same time to create a powerful psychological threat to the enemy!
This was followed by several helicopter formations covering each other for the rappelling...... A total of six helicopters in two formations served as cover, one formation of three helicopters carried out the rappelling and quickly cleared a safe area on the ground, followed by the alternating parachuting of the other two formations......
Of course, this is just a regular combat exercise...... If this is a real battle, I think a lot of times we have to sneak close to the target to launch a surprise attack, where will there be rockets and machine guns like now...... This is to tell the enemy that we are coming, and you get ready!
After the formation of three helicopters was settled...... A variety of abseiling subjects were trained, including highland abseiling, jungle abseiling, night abseiling, and so on......
Among them, especially the night rappelling subject is the most trained...... Needless to say, the reason for this is that the special operations against the Vietnamese army in the past ...... Basically, we can only camouflage and walk through enemy defense areas...... But now there are helicopters, which makes it very convenient for us to pass through the enemy's defense zone!
Like what...... Shoot a few cannons anywhere on the border, and the sound of this cannon can well drown out the sound of helicopters flying in the air. In other words...... In the past, we had to cross the enemy's defense area at the risk of passing through a minefield and being discovered by the Vietnamese army and being completely annihilated, but now we only need to fire a shell...... And you can do it without leaving a trace!
Of course, it is still possible for the helicopter to be detected by the enemy when it enters the depths of Vietnam...... After all, the unique spiral of the helicopter is easy to distinguish, and the Vietnamese are fed up with the suffering of American helicopters...... During the U.S.-Vietnam War, the United States used a large number of helicopters in Vietnam, so the Vietnamese are very sensitive to this sound!
But I'm not worried about that......
On the one hand, it was because of Vietnam's troop deployment...... The fact that Vietnam is empty of troops cannot be changed, which means that the vast majority of their regular army is located along the Sino-Vietnamese border, but it is very empty inside...... Like Scar said, like an egg, it looks quite the outside...... Break a shell and it's empty!
Therefore, as long as we can break through the border defense line of the Vietnamese army smoothly...... It can be said that there are loopholes everywhere, and even if someone hears this abnormal sound, they can't convey the news to it in time...... Irregular troops, communication equipment is very limited, and telephones are not widely available, where to report? When they find some way to report the news...... I'm afraid that we have all completed the task on the way back!
On the other hand, it is because of the innate advantages of helicopter combat...... The helicopter takes the infantry in a large circle in the air, the direction can change at any time, and it only takes two minutes to put the infantry down, and any point the helicopter passes is likely to be a landing site...... In other words, the enemy has no way of knowing the target of our attack, and naturally there is no way to defend against it!
Of course...... The basis for these advantages is the night!
Only at night can we have such a unique innate advantage, otherwise every move of our helicopters will be under the noses of the Vietnamese people or the guerrillas, and the infantry will be able to grasp them one step ahead of them no matter where they are surrendered, and they will even be entangled by the Vietnamese guerrilla workers or militia...... (To be continued......)
