Chapter 13 Training (3)

The training went smoothly because the fighting qualities of the Afghan guerrillas were actually quite good, and they were also very capable of learning.

This was a surprise to me, but when you think about it, it's not surprising...... This may be the common denominator of people in war-torn areas...... Growing up in the war, I haven't eaten pork and seen pig meat, plus all kinds of Shili separatism in Afghanistan, the struggle between tribes has never stopped, so I don't know much about other things, but there are still two hands in the war.

This is a bit like us who grew up in China during the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, when there was a warlord war, a civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, then the War of Resistance against Japan, and then a civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party...... After decades of intermittent fighting, many people grew up watching guns and cannons...... In this way, such things as fighting are not new to them, and it is not uncommon for them to live and die in battle...... So you can quickly adapt to the war and enter the state of war.

Human nature is actually like this, if you live in peace for a long time, then you see killing people or killing yourself or something...... You will feel terrible and frightened, but if you live in the war-torn shijie and fight every once in a while, you will see murder from time to time...... After a long time, I quickly became accustomed to it, and my personality naturally disregarded life...... This disregard for life is not only the life of others, but also the life of oneself.

But this is exactly what the battlefield needs...... To disregard the lives of others on the battlefield is to be ruthless to the enemy, and to ignore one's own lives on the battlefield is to be brave!

This is the case with the Afghan guerrillas...... The average life expectancy of Afghans at this time was only 42 years, and it is conceivable that they are full of death. So they have long taken death lightly. Even because the living environment is too difficult, there are many people who see death as a relief.

As for their speed of learning......

On the one hand, it's because I've been shot in normal times...... That's what Hassan told me. The reason is that there are often firefights between tribes or to defend against bandits, and the common people are usually organized and trained.

On the other hand, it is because of people's instinct to survive...... They came out of a war-torn country, so they know very well that if they don't learn these skills well, they will die, and they will be eliminated......

I think part of the reason is that they also have a belief that they will take back their homeland and drive the Soviets out.

All in all...... Afghan guerrillas are not trained. The quality of its individual soldiers still surpasses that of China's ordinary troops...... I am a little ashamed of this, but it is not surprising that most of our soldiers grew up in peacetime and were largely untrained.

Therefore, what the Afghan guerrillas lack is not the ability to fight individually, but a kind of coordination, an organized and disciplined norm...... Simply put, unity!

This is only characteristic of the guerrillas...... They do not have the sense of resolutely carrying out orders, but they show their talents when fighting...... You fight yours, I'll fight mine, as long as I can kill the enemy. As for what kind of squad and platoon tactics? Battalion and company tactics, or the coordination of various troops. That's a no-brainer.

Against these characteristics of the partisans...... Naturally, the focus of our training is not on individual tactics. Of course, individual tactics are also needed, because the individual tactics of the partisans vary...... Most of their individual tactics were summed up by themselves in battle.

In a certain respect, most of the individual tactics summed up in actual combat are very practical...... It can withstand the test of actual combat, but it is not that it is practical, because everyone's personality is different, the ideas are different, and the situations encountered are different, so different people will get different conclusions about the same approach.

Like what...... A certain guerrilla who often used stones to build trenches on the battlefield and was not injured in several battles, came to the conclusion that stones could be very good at blocking bullets. Another guerrilla also used stones to build trenches, but found that once bombarded, the stones would fly everywhere to increase the lethality of the shells, and he was even injured as a result...... So he came to the conclusion that stone could not be used to construct trenches.

There are many more cases like this, and what we need to do in individual tactics is to unify the conclusions of the guerrillas and explain in detail that the guerrillas will do so, until the guerrillas are convinced...... This process is not difficult, because our army has a lot of combat experience, and we can cite a large number of examples to prove the advantages and disadvantages of each tactic, and some of them even use their own scars to prove it......

"Look! I got this scar because I was injured by hiding behind a tree! Pointing to a few scratches on his stomach, one of the fighters said, "I thought the tree would be able to block the enemy's sight and bullets...... But I didn't expect the AK47 to have a strong penetrating power, not only can it penetrate trees, but also shoot out a lot of wood chips because of the bullet rolling when it penetrates trees...... The pieces of wood stuck in my stomach! ”

"So!" Another fighter would then conclude: "It's okay to use a tree as a cover, but it's better to lie on the ground and poke your gun and head out of the side of the tree...... This minimizes the exposed area! ”

At this time, the Afghan guerrillas would always nod their heads frequently...... They can all be said to have been on the battlefield, so there is no need to experiment at all, and imagine that the soldiers are right.

Another benefit of this exchange of combat experience is the ...... The Afghan guerrillas have a new understanding of the combat effectiveness of our troops.

It's like what Vadud said before...... Later I learned that the name Vadud means "one who loves everyone", and that Wadud does live up to its name...... Because he always says things for everyone that he is unwilling or inconvenient to say, that is, he stands up for everyone and is a bad person himself.

Just like last time, many of the guerrillas were skeptical of the training method of standing in line and kicking the right step, but they did not say anything about it...... That's how Wadod made the first bird.

But Vadud lost last time, and he lost badly...... But that doesn't mean that the Afghan guerrillas don't have any doubts about us...... They will also wonder if these Chinese are just good marksmanship, but have never fought? You must know that fighting a war is not enough to have good marksmanship!

The human psyche is like this, and if they are skeptical, unless you can convince him completely, they will always think in a bad direction.

This problem was solved when the fighters communicated with the Afghans and explained the tactics of individual soldiers...... The reason is that the soldiers have to explain with a large number of battle examples and personal experience on the battlefield. In the process, we will definitely talk about the battles we have fought in the past...... Although this is a kind of digression, I also let it develop, and sometimes even encourage the soldiers to tell more, whether it is a story or a combat experience...... Talk to yourself!

So it dawned on these Afghans...... Oh, it turns out that this Chinese army has still fought, and it has fought such a big battle...... They can block the enemy regiment with a company on the battlefield...... How many people are in a group? Two or three thousand people...... More than a hundred people can block two or three thousand people?!

This is almost a fantasy for the Afghan guerrillas, who are guerrillas...... We are all fighting on our own, and it is enough to be proud to be able to defeat twice as many enemies as ourselves in a fight, but we can defeat ten times as many enemies......

But what we say is justified, and even in the details will be coherent, and what each fighter says will be strung together will be ...... This makes them have to believe it.

This time, the Afghan guerrillas were relieved, and our next training became very smooth...... Hassan and the guerrillas did what they said to us...... There will be no more defenses and doubts in my heart.

I personally understand this...... For example, when you are in class, if you really hate a certain teacher, you always don't take what you say to him seriously, and you always want to correct some mistakes from it. On the other hand, if you particularly like or admire a certain teacher...... Then even if he occasionally says something wrong, he will feel forgivable.

Now we ...... I am very fortunate to be the teacher that these Afghans like and admire.

Actually, this is not lucky...... On the one hand, it's because we do have real kung fu, and on the other hand, because we're Chinese...... Chinese, considered a trustworthy friend by Pakistanis, Pakistan is Muslim as Afghans...... So naturally it will affect the Afghans.

Besides...... We have also been very impressed by our continuous assistance to Afghan refugees, and we respect their religious beliefs...... Saheid and a few other translators are Muslims, so we know Afghan customs very well.

Taken together...... It will be difficult for the Afghan guerrillas to dislike us.

During this time, I also inquired about the training at the American base, but the news I received made me laugh at it...... The guerrillas on the side of the US base are more keen to get the equipment and funds of the US military, and the training is completely perfunctory, and many of the guerrillas even lose their guns on the first day and the next day...... The answer I got was that I needed money, so I sold the gun! It only made those Yankees half angry.

But it's true...... Because when I passed through Peshawar, I saw a lot of Afghans selling with Yankee M16s...... Their guerrillas are drug dealers and addicts, so I'm not surprised at all. (To be continued......)
