Chapter Seventy-Four: The Manuscript
Cassadine stepped aside, and through the lens on his helmet, he saw Kane spread out his hand, a cloud of purple viscous energy gushing out of his palm.
Under his control, the mass of energy began to swell like a fermented dough, turning into a pale disgusting substance that reflected the sheen of the fetal membranes.
The mass stretched and deformed, giving birth to swollen limbs that took on an ugly rudiment.
Then it reacts with the air, and the outer layer gradually darkens and hardens, forming a chitin carapace.
In the monster's body, a part of the energy is not used to form the body, it remains in the body, and serves as the heart to light up the monster's narrow three eyes.
It's a virtual spirit the size of a house dog!
The newly-born ethereal spirit is undiminished, controlling the bladefoot that has not yet fully hardened and is about to pounce on Kane.
Cassadine was stunned as he watched Kane create the birth of the Ethereal, and then he came back to his senses and immediately popped out the Blade of the Underworld and swung at the monster.
Unexpectedly, his wrist was once again held by Kane.
"Shhhh Uncle, if you cut it down, we're doomed! Kane whispered warning.
Cassadine glanced at the ethereal spirit, which had been controlled by Kane with his mind, and not far away, the ethereal insect swarm began to stir, looking for the source of the magic that appeared inexplicably.
He hurriedly withdrew the Blade of the Underworld, and watched in silence as to what Kane was trying to do.
"How did you do that?" Keisha threw herself on Kane's back and whispered in a whisper.
"Keisha, you can't control them even if you learn it."
"No, if you can create ethereal spirits, why do you want to come out and find prey?"
"Why don't you eat yourself when the void is hungry, you are so stupid!"
"Humph! I've got a grudge, I'm going to eat you! Keisha bit Kane's ear directly, but that didn't affect his operation.
Under his control, the monstrous ethereal spirit turned around and crawled towards the ethereal insect swarm.
The Ethereal Spirit made its way to the edge of the swarm, but the swarm did not repel it, nor did it find any anomalies in it.
It crawled towards the center of the swarm, and some of the smaller ethereals moved a few steps to make way for it.
In this way, the ethereal spirit came to the middle of the swarm, and then lowered its body, and purple highlights bloomed in its body.
Boom! The light of the explosion engulfed everything within a radius of several meters.
Looking at the corroded crater after the explosion, and the broken and sticky limbs in it, Cassadine was shocked at first, and then shivered down his spine.
He was glad he hadn't hacked the ethereal spirits that Kane had created, otherwise they would have died in the explosion.
"After the show, clean up the scene and we'll go back."
Kane didn't lower his voice, because the swarm had already been consumed, and now all he had to do was pick up those hearts and absorb them.
Back at the tower, Keisha curiously asks Kane to tell her everything about the self-destructing ethereal.
"That ethereal spirit is no different from normal in terms of body structure, but I have made some changes in its heart, this thing is originally an energy core, and it will become extremely unstable if you move your hands and feet slightly. Then control it to rush to the target, and with a bang, bring annihilation to the enemy. ”
Kane knew that Keisha could also manipulate Void energy, and she might have figured it out herself after watching his demonstration.
So he had stated beforehand that she was forbidden to try to create void creatures. Just because she can't control what she creates, it's very dangerous.
It's stupid to be eaten by a creature of your own creation.
Because there are not many creatures that have been devoured by skin armor, there is very little genetic information stored in the gene bank, and there are very few creatures that Kane can create.
Ethereals, strange birds, beetles...... The bigger he gets, the harder it is to create, and Kane, who has just mastered this ability, is not enough to create the big guys he has devoured before.
And the limitations of the Void Creation are also very large, the bite of the fangs and claws is very weak in the face of the Void creatures, they are all protected by a hard carapace, and the creation that cannot hurt the heart has no value created.
And Kane can't be distracted all the time to manipulate the Void Creation, so when hunting, the easiest way is to use self-explosion to solve everything.
After all, explosions are art.
There was no major progress in the development of Void Energy, so Kane returned to his books and reimmersed himself in the world of magic.
Even if Cassadine was the only one in the tower, the food would eventually be eaten up, and at that time they would have to leave Acacia and return to human society.
Kane can't take these books with him, so he has to work harder to convert the contents of the books into his own knowledge, so that the trip is worthwhile.
Lives matter, and after arriving in Acacia, Kane realized that this place was so dangerous, and he would not have the idea of coming back anytime soon after leaving.
One day, Kane, as usual, leaned against the window and studied an ancient magical book by the flash of thunder.
Although the helmet allowed Kane to see in the dark, it was mainly used to distinguish between life and death, and to see the outline of both. The helmet's dark vision doesn't help with the ink on the pages.
It can't distinguish the difference in color on a dead object, so Kane can only read with the naked eye. And the naked eye needs light, so Kane can only follow the thunder light outside the window at night and look at the book for a moment.
Keisha hadn't read all the words yet, and sat next to Kane meditating. Two people basically don't meditate at the same time, otherwise competing for resources with each other will lead to low efficiency.
In fact, Keisha is not stupid, and her progress in literacy is not slow, but compared to Kane, who can barely remember, it is much worse.
And Kane is more diligent and focused than her, unlike her who gets distracted when she learns to learn, and always wants to tease Kane.
Adolescence is like this, as soon as hormones are in the brain, you always want to get the attention of the opposite sex.
Kane can read a book without looking at her for a long time, and she naturally can't help but engage in small actions to attract him, such as secretly reaching out under the table, deliberately dropping things at the other party's feet, or whispering or something, so the learning progress is pulled away.
Halfway through Kane's reading, Cassadine returned, taking with him the only candlestick in the tower.
Because time is frozen, the candlestick always emits a faint but steady light, and the flame on the candle never flickers or ignites anything else.
Cassadine had just gone with the candlestick, and when he returned, he placed it in front of Kane, and then continued to rummage through the vast bookshelves for information about the Eternal Flame.
In order to prevent his family from being swallowed by the void again, Cassadine was very concerned about this matter.
But for half a year, he searched through all the books in the tower one by one, but he couldn't find a way to create this flame.
And this time, he still couldn't find the information.
However, while flipping through the bookshelves, a stack of hidden manuscripts accidentally fell.
Cassadine thought it was the information of the Eternal Flame, and happily opened it to check it out, and then his expression gradually lost.
But he's still ready to read it responsibly.
But this look at it was terrible, and the mysterious technique made him dizzy, as if a large amount of knowledge poured into his brain at the same time, forming a vortex.
It was the first time he'd ever been in such a situation, and he flipped through the lines just to retrieve information about the Eternal Flame.
But even this mindless reading is still influenced by what is recorded in the manuscript.
Cassadine knew that the manuscript was not simple, so he brought it to Kane.
