164 Counteroffensive on the Salefa River (Part I)
In the past two years, Wufeng Yevich has improved very much, and since he became the secretary of the Leningrad Municipal Party Committee, he really understands how difficult it is to do something. Needless to say, there are all kinds of stumbling relations within the party, and the Trotskyists have to find some fun for him from time to time, and sometimes they have to stir him up for three points if they are unreasonable. Even within this faction, there are constant conflicts of interest, especially troublesome when Stalin is still around, the Trotskyists are sometimes reasonable, and those old brothers of Comrade Iron are really a bunch of bandits.
Anyway, since becoming the secretary of the municipal party committee, Wufeng has been constantly being tested, and from time to time someone wants to dig a trap to pit him, and he is really trembling and not daring to be sloppy along the way.
Of course, this kind of work experience is also very good for exercising people, anyway, the growth of the fog wind is quite rapid, from the beginning of the ignorant rookie, soon became an old bird who knows the way of advance and retreat.
On the eve of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, he was promoted to secretary of the Leningrad Region Party Committee. Of course, among them, a certain immortal has made a lot of effort, there are not too many friends who are close to him, and even fewer are excellent, and he can only be happy if he can grow up.
However, the secretary of the Leningrad Oblast Party Committee was not so easy to do, especially after the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, which became even more difficult. As one of the political, cultural, economic and industrial centers of the Soviet Union, the Leningrad Region had to make an even greater contribution to the Great Patriotic War.
For example, the Leningrad State Heavy Machinery Plant is responsible for the production of T-34 and MB-LT36. Nowadays, the consumption of the front line is increasing day by day, whether it is to replenish the consumption or replace the old equipment, the Leningrad Heavy Machinery Plant needs to break out a small universe.
If Wufeng can no longer satisfy the General Armament Department, the Military Commission, and the Politburo on this issue, it is estimated that the secretary of the state party committee will not be able to do it for long. So is this job easy? It should be said that the difficulty is quite large. Because the General Armament Department set the Leningrad Heavy Mechanical Plant a target of producing 2,500 T-34s and 1,500 MB-LT36s by the end of 1941. How much has been accomplished so far? The T-34 barely produced 1000 units. Only 800 MB-LT36 tracked conveyor trucks have been completed.
And now it's close to the end of July. In less than half a year, more production tasks than in the previous half a year are difficult for a strong man.
However, the stronger ones are still to come, because Li Xiaofeng has higher requirements for Wufeng Jevic: "At least 3,000 units of the T-34 must be produced, and no less than 2,000 units of the MB-LT36 and its deformation cars!" ”
Immediately, Wufeng Jevic had a bitter face: "Boss, everyone is reducing the burden on their own people, why do you come here and increase the weight?" I'll be honest with you, whether or not you can guarantee the original planned output is now a question, let alone ......."
Li Xiaofeng didn't talk nonsense with him: "Complete the plan of the General Armament Department." It is a matter within the division, and if it is completed, it can only mean that you are basically qualified as the secretary of the party committee, and if you are not successful, it means that you are incompetent! ”
Well, Li Xiaofeng's meaning is obvious, that is, he is asking: "Wufeng, do you still want your official hat?" If you don't want it, I'll get you a new one! ”
Kikikaze Jevic was embarrassed and replied, "But, it's difficult......"
Li Xiaofeng waved his hand and said, "I don't want to listen to any difficulties, I just want the result." If you can't complete the task, I'll get rid of you personally. Having fulfilled my request, this year I will go to work in the Central Committee and the Politburo. Let your alternate member become a regular! ”
After speaking, Li Xiaofeng left directly. Wufeng Jevic was stunned on the spot, and the alternate Central Committee member was transferred to the official Central Committee, which is a hurdle. Generally speaking, a substitute like him, who was only elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee in 1940, will take three years at the earliest to become a regular, which is still hard enough to be strong enough and outstanding enough. There is no backing in general, and there are no achievements, let's see after these five years!
Now there is an opportunity to turn positive in advance in front of the foggy wind jevic, why don't you say he is excited, isn't it the output! For the official hat, fight!
Yakov asked Li Xiaofeng with some puzzlement: "You are a little unkind, right?" When the Military Commission was discussing the issue of output, you asked Ubolevich to put the burden on Leningrad and set a plan 20% higher than that of Moscow, and now in front of the foggy wind, you have given an even more outrageous plan, you are not afraid that the foggy wind will not be able to complete the task and drop the chain, and it will be difficult to explain at that time! ”
Yakov's so-called poor explanation came from the pressure of Trotsky and Sverdlov, and in the previous actions to "counterattack" and "relieve the siege", the two sides almost tore their faces, and Li Xiaofeng directly slammed the door and took over the task of arms production. If you can't complete the task this time, or if the task is not completed ideally, you will be slapped in the face when you go back.
In Yakov's view, the reason why Li Xiaofeng pressed the task for Wufeng Yevich was to make a counterattack on the beautiful completion of the armament work, but the satellite was not released casually, and the plan was unrealistic and could not be completed!
Li Xiaofeng sneered at this: "You underestimate the power of bureaucrats too much, for those who want to be promoted, they will do everything to tie up with their superiors." Let's see later, I think he will definitely be able to complete the task! ”
Why does Li Xiaofeng have so much confidence? It's very simple, he knows Kirikaze Jevich too well, this comrade is a pragmatist, and a pragmatist is a person who only looks at the results if it is not good. If the fog wind is not sure, it will be categorically rejected just now, even if someone uses the hat of the Central Committee to fish, it is useless. And the attitude of the foggy wind is not like this, this product is a little twisted and pinched, it seems to be a cry of grievances, but in fact it is more like bargaining. That is, he has a bottom on the completion of the planned output.
Before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, according to the requirements of a certain immortal, he focused on industrial production and spared no effort to strengthen the production capacity of enterprises in the Leningrad region.
Some comrades may ask, since production capacity is not a problem, why is the output not high in the first half of the year? This starts with the nature of bureaucracy, and the pragmatist will do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, but he will not be stupid and brute.
Think about it. If the superior prescribes what the goal is. He goes to accomplish whatever he wants. I'm afraid your superiors won't be sympathetic to how much effort and cost you have put in to accomplish this goal. He will only know that you are capable of accomplishing your goals, and will even continue to put more pressure on you.
Wasn't that stupid back then? Think about it, if you don't complete the task once, the boss will never see that you have done well in the previous ninety-nine times, but will think that you have not done your best.
Who do you want to reason with? Therefore, smart people will never be obedient to their superiors, you have to put forward conditions, give credit and talk about difficulties, and you have to let them know how difficult it is for you. Buried in stupidity, that's a tired stupid camel!
Smarter ones, such as those like Kirikaze Jevic, will not only be able to bargain, but also make certain preparations in advance. Take the Leningrad State Heavy Machinery Plant, for example, after the efforts of Kirikazevich, the actual production capacity actually far exceeded the planned targets, why not let go of production? That's because your superiors are never satisfied, and the better you do, the more demanding they will be, so you have to make room for yourself.
And smart people like Kirikaze Jevic are the best at this kind of trick. This is also a means that grassroots workers must learn. It's just that Li Xiaofeng knows this kind of means very well, so he decisively squeezed out the water. Set a target that Kikkaze Jevic could actually achieve but deliberately did not reach.
There may be comrades who want to say, in that case, why reward that guy? Wouldn't it be okay to just use the executive order to force the past? Measuring him, the foggy wind Jevic did not dare to deny it.
This is a layman's words again, there may always be people who think that rules and regulations can solve a qiē problem, but in fact it is not the case, everyone has selfishness, joy, anger, sorrow, and seven emotions and six desires, it is impossible to do the so-called preservation of heavenly principles to destroy human desires, and if you really want to destroy human desires, that is, the machine is not a flesh-and-blood creature.
Therefore, a smart superior will not forcefully order the subordinates to do what they must do, so that even if the goal is achieved once or twice, it will only make the subordinates disgusted with you, and once this disgust accumulates to a certain extent, then they will deliberately dismantle the stage or do it directly.
Back to the matter of Misty Wind Jevic itself, it seems that Misty Wind Jevic is stealing and cheating, but you must also see one point, why can he steal and cheat, while many other people don't have the ability to steal and cheat?
The reason is very simple, Kirikazevich did the work in front, he was better prepared before the outbreak of the war, so he could calmly deal with the higher requirements put forward by the Military Commission. And those who can't cheat and play tricks either don't have a solid intention to prepare, or they are not as well prepared as Kirikazejevic.
So, now it's time to ask, isn't it commendable that Misty Wind Jevic prepared in advance?
In this way, the problem is simple. Although Kirikaze Jevic is playing tricks, his ability to do things is completely commendable. If all the officials of the Soviet Union could be like Kirikazevich, then the pressure on the Politburo would be much less.
Therefore, there are also bureaucrats, the same bureaucrats, hard-working bureaucrats, such as old-fashioned elements like Suslov, there are also hard-working bureaucrats, such as Brezhnev and others, and some are bureaucrats who do more with less, that is, flexible elements like Wufeng Jevich.
What kind of bureaucracy do you prefer? I'm afraid it's still cute!
After inspecting the factories in Leningrad, Li Xiaofeng finally returned to Moscow, and at the same time as he arrived in Moscow, Tukhachevsky's long-prepared operation on the Salefa River finally began.
Still with the mechanized army as the vanguard, the armored units of the Red Army rushed towards the spearhead of the German armored torrent, and a collision between steels of unprecedented scale began.
The first to go on the counteroffensive were the 8th and 9th Mechanized Corps of the former Sixth Army of the Ukrainian Front, which had lost a large number of tanks under the city of Warsaw, and these two mechanized armies together could not match the full formation of a mechanized army before the war.
Tukhachevsky gritted his teeth and replenished Rokossovsky with more than 100 T-34s, asking him to command the 3rd Tank Army, which consisted of the 8th and 9th Mechanized Corps and two infantry divisions temporarily, to pin down Guderian's 2nd tank group from the front, and pin the cluster firmly to the southeast of Warsaw, in order to cooperate with the main forces to relieve the 3rd and 10th armies.
The promotion certainly made Rokossovsky happy, but the task assigned by Tukhachevsky was not so easy to complete.
First of all, Guderian is not easy to deal with. As an excellent commander of armored forces. His level is unquestionable.
Secondly. The 2nd Tank Group was much stronger than the Red Army's 3rd Tank Army, and Rokossovsky's troops could only be considered a reinforced mechanized army at full capacity, far from the army group.
Using a reinforced mechanized army to hold back a large group of elite troops with high enemy morale seems like a fantasy no matter how you look at it.
Finally, Rokossovsky looked at Tukhachevsky's plan for the Salefa River, which, in his experience, was somewhat whimsical. In a situation where the battle line is almost untenable, it is necessary to counterattack. Isn't this sending to death?
Rokossovsky certainly didn't want to be sent to death, so he was more resistant to this plan, and naturally his feelings were not good.
Soldiers take obedience to orders as their duty, and even if they are unhappy, Rokossovsky can only carry them out. On the night of July 19, he communicated the plan of the Salefa River to commanders of all ranks, and at six o'clock the next morning, he gave the order to begin a counterattack.
The counterattack did not go well at the beginning, mainly due to the lack of supplies, as Kyiv was surrounded. The Ukrainian Front can receive supplies only from the Belarusian direction. These supplies were rather limited, at least after some hard work, Rokossovsky was able to collect only three days of fuel and two bases of ammunition. Food and medicine are even more scarce.
Worse is yet to come. When the counterattack had just begun, Rokossovsky was in big trouble, and when the T-34 and T-35 rumbled towards the Germans, the nasty Stuka and BF-109 came uninvited, this time Stuka not only aimed his gun at the Red Army tank on the ground, but also threw a 500-kilogram bomb at Rokossovsky's command vehicle.
The bomb was dropped quite accurately, landing about 15 meters behind Rokossovsky's armored command vehicle, and the shock wave and air wave of the explosion directly set off a heel fight for the armored command vehicle, and Rokossovsky in the car also experienced the feeling of riding a roller coaster for free.
All in all, it's terrible. It took an hour for Rokossovsky to be rescued from the deformed body. At that time, he had a large gash on the top of his head, blood flowed all over his face, the radius of his left arm was also broken, and he even suffered from cannon deafness, and for three whole days, the ears of the future marshal were filled with little bees, not to mention how uncomfortable it was.
However, these are not the things that Rokossovsky cares about the most, the worst thing is that his armored command vehicle was destroyed, which was the only remaining high-level command vehicle in the headquarters of the 3rd Tank Army, and for a time Rokossovsky lost contact with the troops on the front line.
"Do your best to figure out the location of the Eighth Mechanized Army!"
"Let the 13th Tank Division report on their situation!"
For the whole morning, Rokossovsky was in a state of obscurity of intelligence, which caused great interference in his command work, and it was not until half past one o'clock in the afternoon, when the Eighth Mechanized Corps sent a new command vehicle, that Rokossovsky was able to carry out his work more smoothly.
However, the situation on the battlefield was not good at this time, and the 8th and 9th Mechanized Corps, which had been vigorously counterattacking, advanced only three to five kilometers in the morning, forming a state of dog-tooth interplay with the German army.
This was a far cry from the goal that Rokossovsky and Tukhachevsky had expected to tear through the German lines in one fell swoop. Even these three or five kilometers of breakthrough could not last, after the German army strengthened air support and troops, the armored forces that broke through were being repulsed step by step!
Guderian's troops were quite resilient, and although they were inferior in technical weapons, they used excellent tactical coordination to neutralize the superiority of the Red Army. By the time the battle progressed late that night, all the Red Army units in the counterattack had been driven back.
Rokossovsky knew that the big thing was not good, and if he did not make adjustments in a hurry, I am afraid that the entire tank Third Army would have to take a break. He immediately revised Tukhachevsky's order for a new round of larger-scale counterattacks, ordering his troops to retreat as far as possible and disengage from the Germans.
It has to be said that Rokossovsky's reaction was too timely, and in the evening of the same day, Guderian gave instructions to encircle and annihilate the enemy in front of him, and ordered the second group of tanks to boldly intersperse again, go deep behind enemy lines to encircle and annihilate the Soviet army.
While Guderian was carrying out this plan, his fist was empty, and Rokossovsky took advantage of the cover of the night to retreat at high speed, and by dawn he had already disengaged from contact with the Germans. The German tank units only caught up with the separate 100th heavy tank battalion covered by the rear of the palace, and were bloodied in front of the T-54, so they could only hurriedly abandon seven or eight burning tanks No. 2 and No. 3 and retreat.
Not only Rokossovsky was in trouble here, but the bigger trouble was on Tukhachevsky's side, the assault group composed of elite units of the Ukrainian Front, the Belarusian Front and the Baltic Front made good progress at first, easily defeating the vanguard of the German army, but when they quickly advanced according to Tukhachevsky's orders, they encountered the German grenadiers who were heavily defended and the Stuka who was as powerful as a hanging.
The day's fighting was extremely fierce, and at one point there was a tearing battle between hundreds of tanks. According to post-war statistics, more than two hundred tanks No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 were destroyed on this day, while the Red Army also dropped nearly a hundred T-34 and T-35.
In the evening of the same day, Tukhachevsky overturned the table in a rage when the Brest command learned that there had been little progress...... (To be continued......)
PS: Bow and thank you for the sweet potatoes in the melon field and Comrade hzwangdd!
