Chapter 333: The Shadow of War
Iron Hoof trampled out the violently burning queen grass, and the dark blue ghost fire hoof print replaced it, burning in the shade of the square.
"We're surrounded." Kai'Sa whispered.
Karn looked away from Hecarim and noticed a large group of ghost knights approaching.
Pale green translucent firelight enveloped the tall body, and the cold light of the spears and swords glowed with black gas.
The empty square was surrounded by cavalry, the black fog turned into a whirlpool in turmoil, the shacks under their feet collided with each other, and the main sea square was shaking.
"Sarah told me a secret way to escape." Karn said to Kai'Sa.
The roads in Bilgewater are intricate, and you'll never find them without an acquaintance walking them.
"Do you want to escape?"
"See how he does it."
Jax was still standing in the middle of the square, not in the slightest hint of moving.
"That's all you guys? Let the horses come! He slammed the lamppost on the ground, and made a provocative sound.
As expected, Karn already knew that this man had come to Bilgewater on the night of the Eclipse, most likely to fight.
In that case, then he didn't plan to leave.
Hekarim had already been defeated once, and the second time was not a difficult task.
Mainly look at Jax.
Despite his martial prowess and the Eternal Flame in his hands, he was still a mortal on a physical level, and his natural disadvantage in the face of the undead made Karn a little worried.
It occurred to him that he ...... If Jax is undermined by the siege of the Iron Regiment, is he going to come to his rescue? Or wait for Hecarim to hack Jax to death and effortlessly inherit the Eternal Flame?
Without time for him to think about it, the Iron Regiment attacked.
The Shadow of War raised its flaming halberd, and the ghost knights urged the horses from Hell to gallop towards the people in the clearing.
"You won't live to the day your world is destroyed."
Hecarim rushed forward with his halberd, and stepped heavily behind him in a ghostly fire trajectory, and then jumped high at a speed that was impossible for a living person to achieve, and the sharp halberd thrust forward, and the iron-armored body of the man and horse rushed like a heavy chariot.
Jax didn't hard-connect, and dodged the fleaming iron hooves with a side flip of the lamppost. But again, when he tried to fight back, Hecarim had already run more than ten meters away from his side.
He raised his front hooves and leaned back to stop the charge, and the iron hooves braked two rising blue ghost fires on the roof of the wooden shed, and the wood made an unsupportable creaking sound, these driftwood that had been soaked in salt water for many years could not withstand such a huge destructive force.
Jax pulled the lamppost out and held it tightly around his arm.
The ghostly cavalry followed, a barrage of lightning bolts of swords coming from all directions, mingling with sweeping slashes, lightning-fast spear stabs, and high-flying slashes...... Each one is infinitely powerful and can break the arm bones of ordinary people.
But all of this was parried by Jax, and the lamppost in his hand kept turning, and the black spear and sword were swept away, and at the same time the bolt was struck back to the opponent's arm or horse's hoof, as well as the belly of the human body and horse.
The flames in the lampshade burned unquenchable, like a light and swift spirit.
With each touch, a splash of sparks fell on the Ghost Knight's body, and the undead burned violently like a ball of dry firewood, unable to maintain a charging stance, and finally fell to the ground like a collapsed burner, exploding a large field of sparks.
The two men standing in the corner were not spared either, and the ghost knights charged at them in a line of sharp knives, the square rumbling under the trampling.
Karn lifted the roof from Kaisha's feet, and the latter leaped high into the air.
The timber-bound roof of the hut was used as a shield by Karn, pushing forward to block the knight who bore the brunt of it. The pitch-black blade slashed through the wood, revealing a thin layer of transparent crystalline shields underneath, and even a sturdy dark condensation armor.
The sword was flicked to the chest, and the cavalry in front of the shield was overturned.
The Iron Regiment was forced out of a gap by Karn, and the rest of the cavalry bypassed from both sides and crashed into the rice bunk behind him.
Iron hooves followed, and the back waves pushed the front waves, and there was no turning back, and no one was spared.
All of a sudden, sawdust flew everywhere, grains splashed everywhere, and colorful rain fell in the midst of a wide range of wails.
Kai'Sa landed lightly beside her, her shoulder pod spewing out a barrage of swirling missiles that spread in all directions, hitting Karn's pre-planted explosion trap.
This is to prevent Jax, because the Void Skin Armor may mislead cognition, and it is not impossible for Jax to come up and greet them first.
In the fierce light of the fire, which could be seen throughout the city, the corners of the square shacks suddenly collapsed, and with the fierce flames, a dozen ghost knights all sank to the surface of the sea.
Unwilling to die, the undead struggled in the crater, making a huge splash, Karn and Kai'Sa stepped forward, a lightning bolt slashing into the water to silence them, and the blade erupted purple flames, incinerating the knights.
The flames extinguished, the bubbles burst, and the tentacles of the black mist emerged from them. The knights are dead again, but they will be resurrected.
"You've destroyed someone's shop." Kai'Sa said as she looked at Mipu, who was originally in the middle of the round pit, but now nowhere to be found.
"Don't try to shirk it, you also have some credit for this." Karn looked up, and though it was a magic trap he had planted, it was Kai'Sa who had detonated it.
"Are you going to leave me down to work to pay off my debts?"
"How can it be, let Hekarim pay for it."
A loud shout came from the other side of the square, and they saw Hecarim rushing forward, the flaming blade slashing at Jax's head.
Jax staggered to dodge the slash, and Hecarim's blade landed on the ground, shattering the shed and opening up a ring of flames.
The ring of flames spread out like a ripple, and the wall of fire rose a foot high.
Seeing this, Jax smashed the shack under his feet with a lamppost, and then shrunk into it, avoiding the spread of the ring of fire.
The ring of fire did not stop, and continued to spread throughout the square, soon burning in front of Karn.
He propped up the energy barrier and enveloped Kai'Sa as well, even though there was a round pit at their feet, and they could have jumped into the house like Jax. But he was confident enough in his abilities to be afraid of a terrifying ghostly fire.
The barrier kept them safe and sound through the wall of fire, but the entire square burned, and the ghost knight was reborn in the blue flames, and the body of the black mist gradually coalesced, coming to obey the orders of the Shadow of War.
