Part 1: Where do I come from?

Guo Kaishan's hometown of City A, there is a century-old small temple in the east of the village. Although it was persecuted during the turmoil, it has now been renovated.

It is rumored that in the late forties of the last century, a Taoist came from Shan-Xi, carrying a seated bust of Guan Gong, and came here. Since he had no food in his stomach, he had to sit on the side of the road and rest. At this time, a monk in the temple in the east of the village saw him and proposed to go to the temple to rest first, and then go on the road after his body recovered.

Of course, the Taoist was happy to see that there was a monk helping him, so he carried the statue of Guan Gong into the temple.

The temple originally had three monks, a master, a middle-aged monk, and a young novice who was less than ten years old. It was the middle-aged monk who led the Taoist into the temple.

It is strange to say, as soon as the Taoist priest entered the temple, the yellow cloth wrapped around the statue of Guan Gong on his back broke, and the statue of Guan Gong slipped from his back to the ground, which made the Taoist priest and the monk very shocked.

The Taoist people came to Kanto to escape the war, and at this time the Northeast had been liberated, and the Taoist people also wanted to find a place to settle down and spend their old age in the Kanto region.

The Taoist who ate the food, after his body recovered, wanted to leave immediately, the strangest thing was that the statue of Guan Gong was much heavier than when he entered the temple, but the Taoist could not carry it. The master in the temple said to the Taoist, this is also the will of heaven, it may be that Master Guan thinks that this place is more suitable for rest and does not want to go anymore.

As the saying goes: Zen, Taoism, and Confucianism stand on three legs, and no sect obeys anyone. Only the three teachings of the old man are respected, and seeing that the master is sincere, the Taoist has nothing to say, just to find a place for the master to live first, and it is easy to talk about his future affairs.

The statue of Guan Gong was originally in this inconspicuous small temple, and there was no place for him. When the people in the village heard about this miracle, those who had money rushed to donate, and those who had no money. Also willing to run. It didn't take long for the side hall next to the main hall to build another side hall for Master Guan, named "Garan Palace", dedicated to worshipping Master Guan.

Time passed, after a long time of rest in the temple, the Taoist also saw that he would inevitably live here for a long time in the future, in order to maintain unity with the monks, he also left to practice and joined the ranks of the monks. Became a monk.

The Taoist is a young monk with great ability, not only observing celestial phenomena and asking fortune and evil, but also proficient in the art of feng shui. Because the cultivation of the Tao and the cultivation of the Buddha are similar, are to seek happiness in suffering, within a few years, the Buddhist classics in the temple let the Taoist priest memorize the melon well. Soon became a "high-ranking monk".

After the death of the elder father of the temple, he wanted to pass on the position of presiding officer to the Taoist. However, the Taoist thought that he could not take on this great responsibility, so he had to be held by a middle-aged monk.

The little monk in the temple has been known to the Taoist since he met. I learned a lot of experience and knowledge from it, and within a few years, I learned all the mastery of the Taoist priest, and he was famous at a young age. Even the leaders of the local civil affairs bureau knew him.

After the period of turmoil began, Guo Kaishan's family moved into the village. Guo's mother has always believed in Buddhism, and she ignored the opposition of her family. I came to the temple to worship and put on a pillar of high incense.

When the Taoist saw Guo's mother's face, he stepped forward to greet Fang and knew that he had moved in, so he helped Guo's mother do the math, and the result was, "The willow bank is bright, and it is rich and noble." He also said that several children of the Guo family will have a future in the future, which strengthened Guo's mother's confidence in raising her children well.

Soon after, the rebels targeted the temple, and the middle-aged monk was dragged out into the streets, and the little monk, who had now grown into a young man, ran faster than a rabbit when he saw that someone was trying to catch him, and only returned to the temple after everyone had left.

The Taoists had long expected that this movement would sooner or later reach the temple. One night, he ran away with the statue of Guan Gong on his back, and no one could tell where he went. There are a lot of rumors, the gods are like gods, and the most powerful thing is that the Taoist priest is a god, seeing that the general trend has gone, he flew up to the sky with the holy statue on his back.

Without the donations of the people, the little monk lived day by day, and often starved for two or three days. When Guo's mother saw that he was pitiful, she would always take advantage of the family's inattention, take a few cornmeal nests, and secretly go to the temple to see him.

However, no matter how clever the little monk was, he did not escape the calculations of the rebels, and it didn't take long for them to be arrested in the middle of the night. The temple was also destroyed, and when he was released, he had no place to live.

Someone said to the little monk, while he is young, he is still vulgar, people can't fight with the sky, it is better to be a new person, live again, marry a wife and have children, so happy.

The little monk saw that everyone didn't want to see him, so he left this place and came to Guangdong after several journeys.

After arriving in Guangdong, the dialect here gave him a headache, and the policy of the movement was similar to that of City A, so the little monk was ready to smuggle himself to Hong Kong, and heard from the local people that there were still monks there.

The little monk smuggled at the border crossing three times, but without success, and was arrested and put into a detention center. Finally, during a labor exercise, the little monk jumped into the sea alone, and he was never seen again.

During the turmoil, there were many people who smuggled into Hong Kong, and the little monk was lucky to come there. Because of his mastery of Buddhism since childhood, he quickly found a place to live. It didn't take long for him to become famous in Hong Kong, and by the end of the turmoil, he was middle-aged, but he had already become the vice president of the "Buddhist Society" in Hong Kong.

After the beginning of the reform and opening up, many Hong Kong people came to the mainland, some did business, some visited relatives, this little monk also returned to City A to see, see that the temple where he lived when he was young has been built, so he repaired the temple history in the temple, waiting for future generations to look at and learn.

Guo's mother also heard that the little monk had returned, so she came to the temple to find him and leave him to find his brother who was separated before liberation. Because he had received the favor of Guo's mother when he was a child, the monk quickly agreed, saying that after returning to Hong Kong, he would use his connections to help her find her.

The old Guo family has always had an ulterior secret, and only a few older children in the family know the way, like Guo Kaishan, Guo Kaiqing and other children, they don't know the way.

Guo's mother was born in a prominent early year and lived in Chengde. Her father was a high-ranking official during the Republic of China, and her mother was also the daughter of a wealthy local man. With a solid family background, his teenage brother went to Japan to pursue further studies.

Guo's mother has studied very well since she was a child, and she reads well, although her appearance is not good, she can be regarded as a famous and talented woman.

During the Japanese-Benesque invasion of China, Guo's mother's father had died, and her brother had already returned and became a translator for the Japanese garrison, which was what people called "traitors" at that time.

Guo's mother's family was very large, and it is rumored that the governor of Rehe Province at that time once lived in their house, which was also known later.

With the promotion of her brother in the army, Guo's mother also followed her brother to City A, lived here, and studied here. During this period, she met Guo's father, but Guo's father didn't know that her brother was a "traitor", and she only knew that she was the daughter of a rich family.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Guo's mother's elder brother was not dealt with in any way, but became a "senior staff member of the national army", with the rank of colonel, which is inseparable from his young experience of studying abroad. The Nationalist Government also did not want to treat this high-achieving student as a "traitor", because after all, there would be great rule after the chaos, and there would be a need for talented people everywhere.

The good times didn't last long, and within a few years, the People's Liberation Army entered City A. Without knowing it, Guo's mother's elder brother was also taken to Taiwan by plane by the military department, and he had just gotten married that year and had not yet had children.

After being separated from her brother, Guo's mother became incognito, she could write, but she pretended not to know, as if she was a flat-headed person. In addition, his own appearance is not outstanding, so he has not attracted the attention of the masses.

Fortunately, Guo's father returned to work in City A after liberation, and after the efforts of both parties, they combined and established a family.

Every era has its own story, just when Guo's father and Guo's mother worked hard for their own small family, they were decentralized during the turbulent period, came to the countryside of City A, and became authentic farmers. At first, Guo's father couldn't think about it, but Guo's mother was very good at enlightening her husband, and only said that this was a tempering, and it was good for the children's growth to endure a little hardship.
